Being a homeowner is a lot of adulting and since I'm the "get shit done" half of our household, I do a lot of adulting. It's been almost 2 years since we last cleaned our gutters and it shows. I called up Andy's, who did our last cleaning and put gutters on our garage, but they never got back to me after a call, email, and website submission. I got a few quotes, none of them from Turro, when a co-worker randomly mentioned a recent gutter cleaning done by Turro. I will never grow accustomed to the awkwardness that ensues when trying to schedule home repairs. It seems the rule, not the exception, that you're the one pushing for updates and begging for info. But I digress. After a few texts, I got my quote and was told they could come out the next day. The only real upside of a pandemic is that we're always home, so scheduling is easy. My only frustration was that we needed to run an errand and I couldn't pin down a window of time when they'd be out. I started to assume they weren't coming when it was almost 4 on a Friday, but they assured me they would be there and they were. Hot damn our gutters were filthy! Seeing all of the water run out when they unclogged them was pleasing. The also fixed one spot on our gutter where the downspout had been attached shoddily too. They did try and upsell us on gutter covers, which we opted not to do until we've had a chance to do a little research. On the one hand, I didn't love that most of the gunk from the gutters ended up in our grass, but on the other hand, it was evident that they did a thorough job. Overall, we'd hire them again. Had a tornado run through our neighborhood in August. Contacted these guys in October after getting estimates. They finally came out in November to give me an estimate. I was satisfied with their estimate and proceeded to ask him to give me a date. He tells me he is very booked/weather is too cold/my truck broke down, etc, etc, etc and cannot guarantee anything until the spring. I contacted him in May to come out and he said he would be by later that week. Never showed. June same story, July I moved my schedule around 5 different times for this guy to get him to come out and do the gutters. July 12th finally comes out and he now says that materials have skyrocketed and his crew wants more money so he wouldn't do the job for what he estimated it for. A portion of my gutter full of ice/snow came crashing down into the yard due to the big warmup. What to do? I originally didn't even call these guys. Was checkmarked automatically by Yelp as more to pick from. As soon as I posted to another gutter servicer, they called me, gave me an estimate the same day, and the price was great. Came the next afternoon, on time, and the job was done quickly and looks great. I have called some other places, prices were higher, and am still waiting for call backs. One place, granted had great reviews, had to wait until the 24th to give me an estimate, which was due to many people experiencing this same issue. Paid for gutter cleaning and a window cap for an extra 80 dollars. The window capping was on the second floor and they did the worst job "capping " if that's what you call it. All they did was slob some sealant which was different color and didn't even seal it half way and they spray painted the sealant. Lol. Once I made my way to the second floor after I was rushed to sign their garbage agreement I saw the worst sealant job I've ever seen and sent the owner pictures. He said he would come back in the weekend and it's been 6 months and hasn't shown up. Do yourself a favor and find some one else that won t do such a garbage repair. read more

I have worked with this company twice. The first was for an emergency and this more recent time was for a gutter re-do. For the emergency, our downspout fell off the house because it was so full of junk. I found Turo Gutters on Yelp and selected them because of the reviews. I sent some photos via text. In turn received a reasonable quote, both cost and time. Without even meeting anyone in person, this work was done. I realized I had a more serious problem with the gutters since more rain water escaped the gutters than went into them. I texted Turo and he was on it. I appreciate the analysis of what worked and didn't and the solutions to make things right. Their costs again were reasonable. They worked efficiently and quickly. I have never been so excited for rain! Nothing made me happier to see rain water come out of the downspouts instead of over the gutters. read more

I had Turo come out to paint the frieze board around our house and to seal leaks in several corners of my gutters. After the work was done Turo engaged me in idle chitchat for what seemed like a half hour, which I thought was unusual. I looked around at the work and it seemed to be accomplished as I expected. However, the next day I noticed that the area above my bow windows, which is a continuation of the frieze board, was not painted. I called and two of his staff showed up and finished the painting. I was told that Turo originally instructed his team to not paint anything metal, which meant my gutters, and that's why they didn't paint the frieze above my bow windows. Then I tested the gutters by spraying water into the corners and it turned out that two of the repaired corners still leaked! I called again but Turo initially refused to come out. Only after threating to complain to the BBB, Consumer board, etc., did he agree and again two of the team came out. They went up on the roof and appeared to be applying caulk or something. Well, it rained soon after and the corners still leaked and leak to this day. It was never truly repaired. After having already called twice, I decided to write Turo off. He held up my work for almost 3 weeks while I waited for him to respond, which he barely ever did. Nothing he said ever came true, and he was impossible to communicate with. I wouldn't let this company go near your roof. I had some problems with a leak in my bedroom ceiling, so I had Turo come out. He decided to caulk or seal a patch of shingles above my bedroom. I also had him install some gutter covers. Months later, the ceiling was still leaking. A subsequent roofing company removed all of the gutter covers, which were installed improperly and had cracked a bunch of shingles, letting in more water and causing more problems. And then a different roofing company was out here and told me that they couldn't even see where the leak might be coming from because of the way the shingles had been patched. Apparently, that's something you should never do to a roof. I was putting off a full roof replacement as long as possible, but I think Turo's handiwork was the nail in the coffin. read more

Brian H, we had basically your EXACT experience!!!! Hired Turo based on good reviews, he was doing other work in the neighborhood. Maybe these guys are good for smaller jobs, think that is the majority of the good reviews. Ours was rather large - we needed a roof, siding and gutters on a 2500 sq ft addition. The contract was sent from him to us with a price he changed literally when we were sitting down to sign it. "Oh that was a quote, I'm not that good with math, I can't be held to that price" - YES he said this. We compromised to another, higher price. They did the roof and a few hiccups but so far so good. A few items were left to do and then we are talking about the siding and gutters. Mind you, we originally had all of these in one contracted price, but then at the time of signing he divided out. We now know why. Not one number was held. Pushed out and pushed out siding install date, it was now fall- we had originally contracted to be finished with the siding in the beginning of August. When we sit down to finally get contract signed - SURPRISE! A 30% price jump. Oh that siding you said you wanted from the very beginning is harder to get. We compromised on a much higher price. Then he came back a week later (still no date for install scheduled) and said the siding was actually even more than he thought - again the "I'm bad at math" crying. It will now be $2k MORE than the SIGNED CONTRACTED PRICE. WHAT?!?! He was well aware we were desperate to get the house sealed up, all other trades were being pushed off and we actually lost some contractors due to the much later start dates. We had areas in the house where water was pouring in due to incorrect/insufficient flashing. Then more weeks go by with no response to phone calls, emails, texts. I finally catch him on the phone and he says he can't do the siding at all - "my worker, he has an illness" YES HE SAID THIS. Yet he told us weeks before he actually had the siding purchased. Hmmmmm. According to Turo no one else could do the siding but this one guy. We had to fight and fight to get him to come back to repair where the water was now ruining floors and drywall - he had the absolute nerve to say "well that will be fixed once you get the siding on". He still has outstanding work but of course we give up. Lies, Lies, Lies. Broken contracts, half done work. If you are cleaning a gutter, this might be your guy. OTHERWISE BEWARE. read more

Honestly I can't quite believe how fast and affordably they took care of my gutters! After the last huge downpour, one of our gutters detached from the side of the roof, which caused quite a mess. I almost didn't contact Turo b/c honestly their reviews were SO good that it sounded too good to be true. BUT I figured what's the harm in a quote.. 2 hours later a team of 4 guys were at my house, and once they gave me a quote and I gave them the go-ahead, they jumped to work! In less than an hour, not only did they fix the problem I called them about in the first place, they re-pitched another gutter that they noticed wasn't draining properly, AND they cleaned out the rest of the gunk.. a job I was not looking forward to doing, and they did it for me with a smile on their faces!
