Being a homeowner is a lot of adulting and since I'm the "get shit done" half of our household, I…read moredo a lot of adulting. It's been almost 2 years since we last cleaned our gutters and it shows. I called up Andy's, who did our last cleaning and put gutters on our garage, but they never got back to me after a call, email, and website submission. I got a few quotes, none of them from Turro, when a co-worker randomly mentioned a recent gutter cleaning done by Turro. I will never grow accustomed to the awkwardness that ensues when trying to schedule home repairs. It seems the rule, not the exception, that you're the one pushing for updates and begging for info. But I digress. After a few texts, I got my quote and was told they could come out the next day. The only real upside of a pandemic is that we're always home, so scheduling is easy. My only frustration was that we needed to run an errand and I couldn't pin down a window of time when they'd be out. I started to assume they weren't coming when it was almost 4 on a Friday, but they assured me they would be there and they were. Hot damn our gutters were filthy! Seeing all of the water run out when they unclogged them was pleasing. The also fixed one spot on our gutter where the downspout had been attached shoddily too. They did try and upsell us on gutter covers, which we opted not to do until we've had a chance to do a little research. On the one hand, I didn't love that most of the gunk from the gutters ended up in our grass, but on the other hand, it was evident that they did a thorough job. Overall, we'd hire them again. They beat all of the other quotes we got, were friendly, quick, and we didn't have to wait weeks for an appointment.

Truly amazing experience working with Shawn and his team. We purchased a property in the Hyde Park…read morearea, and after speaking with several contractors, we learned that our flat roof hadn't been serviced in 10-15 years (we had some leaks). Shawn and his team provided several repair options and thoroughly explained the benefits of each. We ultimately chose the roof restoration route. Shawn took the time to walk me through their process in detail, clearly outlined the scope of work, and delivered exactly what was promised. Before the project began, we even inspected the roof together, which gave me added confidence in their approach. They stand behind the quality of their work and offer coverage for the restoration, which provided additional peace of mind. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the experience and would highly recommend Shawn and his team. One happy Chicagoan! (Roof was fix and coating)

I got a couple of quotes to have the boot removed and Andres Roofing was the most reasonable so I decided to go with them. We had a to reschedule a few times due to rain, but when they were finally able to make it out on a rain-free day they promptly fixed the issue. I also had them remove an old satellite and an antenna from the roof, which they did for a reasonable amount extra. Overall, I would recommend them for any roof repairs.

I strongly recommend staying away from this roofing company…read more After a devastating storm hit Homewood, my home sustained significant damage. The company initially responded quickly and installed a tarp to protect the home from additional rain damage. Unfortunately, my experience went downhill from there. I was initially provided an invoice for one amount. After my insurance adjuster became involved and met with the roofing company, I received another invoice only three days later that was approximately $4,000 higher--even though there had been no corresponding change to the scope of work. My insurance adjuster also noticed that the price being charged for wood had increased within those few days. Then, after the work was completed, we received yet another invoice for an even higher amount. In total, this company gave us three different prices for essentially the same scope of work. The price increased after insurance became involved, and then increased again afterward. We repeatedly questioned these increases and did not receive an adequate explanation for why the same work continued to cost more. Even more concerning, I signed a proposal for an agreed-upon scope and amount and was given my copy. The company's version later reflected a higher amount than the document I had signed. Additional charges continued to appear throughout the process. I also found discrepancies between what was billed and what I could verify was actually completed. For example, the amount of plywood billed did not appear to correspond with the square footage or photographic documentation. Several items included within the agreed scope of work were not completed. The gutter guards were another issue. I did not request new gutter guards. I was told they were being installed at no additional charge, and I have Ring footage documenting that conversation. The company later attempted to charge me for them. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. Carefully document every conversation, keep your original copies of everything you sign, compare every invoice against the original scope of work, and verify that the work being billed was actually performed. I have documentation supporting my experience, including the three different prices/invoices, my copy of the signed proposal, photographs, communications, and Ring footage. I have also reported my concerns to the Better Business Bureau. I would not use this company again, and I would strongly caution others before signing anything or allowing this company to handle an insurance-related project.
