I will use TIO from here on out. Bob came out and gave me a formal estimate to do some work in my house...install 4 new fixtures and then wire and install 2 new fans. Mere days later he was back out to do the work. He was friendly and professional. He is also a heads-down, get-the-job done kind of person. He worked non-stop and cleaned up after done. There was also an apprentice that showed up...over an hour late and then left for 3 hours only to return to help load up the tools. I understand this is maybe an internal issue, but it is was observed at the client level. I felt bad for Bob not having help for the duration of the work. This did not influence my rating, because the work was done and done well regardless of my sympathy :) Nonetheless, I will personally request to have Bob back and have already started making a list of the work in Phase 2. I was referred to this company by one of my contractors after an eight day journey to get a new water heater installed. When they finally had it all in, the electrical components didn't extend far enough and they advised me I would need an electrician. I was given Chad's info and he was immediately helpful to assess what would be required and the next morning they called me to try and fit me in. Loyally and frequentUsed these guys for past 2 years .. Pedro was outstanding however now that he has left service and reliability seem to have also left the company. Most recently I had them. Move 2 electrical outlets and install 3 can lights and the bill was 1100$ .. normally they send a email receipt right as you pay them but this time I didn't get one. I called the office to request one as well as ask if the 1100$ was correct and got a we will get back to you.. still don't have a receipt and still no callback. Therefore they are telling me they don't care and thus why I am posting a negative survey. read more

I had an electrical issue with my pool light as it no longer would turn on, so I went on Yelp to find a good Electrician. I'm glad I cam across TIO. What can I say about these guys? One, the technician, Tyson, showed up about 20 minutes EARLY (who does that?). Very nice! Second, he figured out a way to fix my issue with minimal cost to me and kept the repair under one hour, so I would not have to pay for the second hour (they bill hourly). Third, they had a Yelp coupon which saved me even more money. Fourth, Tyson explained how if I needed an additional repair, he would do what he could to keep the cost down and gave a very reasonable estimate for the work. I have had other electricians look at this issue and quote me the maximium amount possible to pad their pocketbook. In conclusion, TIO was prompt, easy to schedule appt with, very reasonable pricing, and tries to save me money on my electrical repair needs whenever possible. First let me say this, I use yelp to find everything. Since purchasing a home, the reviews really come in to full play. So when I leave reviews, its the real deal. No sugar coating here. Just the truth. With that being said, Pedro has done a wonderful job with all of our installations of sensor lights outside our garage and front door, as well as finding and fixing any issues with our wall outlets, and if there was a problem with the wall plate we purchased to fit an outlet, he fixed it to make it work and look good. He also turned us onto silicone sealant around outside fixtures to keep rain and bugs out. He has been a true asset to our new home, and will continue to work with him in our future home projects. I had an outdoor GFCI electrical outlet issue so I called Turn It On Electric and arranged for them to be be here today. Not only did the solve that issue, but also pointed out a couple of breakers in the service panel that were a different manufacturer than the panel so I authorized the tech to procure the correct ones and replace the different ones. I am very satisfied with their friendly attitude and looking over everything in our service panel. The tech also tightened all the wire connections to all the other breakers too. read more

From Haley in the office to Rob who was my electrician as well as his boss everybody was extremely helpful and caring in what was a very stressful situation. Turns out the previous electrician hasn't tightened things down correctly in my panel causing it to arc. I'm lucky it wasn't something worse than no A/C in a phoenix summer. From the very first phone call they put me on hold to talk to rob directly and see if he could make it out the same day even though I had called at 1pm, waited for maybe a minute and she came back to tell me yes they would be there by 4. Rob showed up and immediately addressed the problem showing me exactly what was happening and making recommendations by putting himself in my shoes and letting me know what he would do. Called his boss who was at home by this point but still answered and FaceTimed to see the problem and see if he had any additional thoughts as it was something that aps and the city would have to get involved with. Rob then went to Home Depot to get a part and see if they had others knowing this was a big job and would be expensive when he got back he recommended multiple thoughts as far as warranty since I was at no fault. Even said he understood that I might have to use someone else if I wasn't allowed to use who I wanted to make repairs yet still made himself available if I needed help explaining what was going on for warranty purposes. The next day I called and was told I can use who I want so I immediately called Rob and he got the ball rolling. Haley called and let me know they were getting permits started with the city and aps was on their way to get power shut down. By 315 my panel had been replaced and power restored and turned back on by aps. I could not be happier and felt like I was being dealt with like I was everyone of these employees family member. read more

Rob and Billy were FANTASTIC!  It was a big job of moving 2 ceiling fans to different rooms, adding 2 new ceilings in the rooms they removed the ceiling fans from, adding pendant lights and changing a chandelier.  They took the time to make sure it was right, checking with me on the heights of the chandelier and pendant were correct.  They cleaned up and even offered to take out the trash.  I even overheard Rob tell Billy to install like you are working on your own house, which is awsome to hear that kind of care went into my install.  Rob even answered a unrelated question on a circuit breaker that keeps tripping in my new construction home. We needed to have some of our light fixtures replaced, as well as two ceiling fans that were outdated. After checking with a couple of companies that were recommended, we went to yelp and found Turn It On Electric. I called late in the afternoon, and the office scheduler was pleasant and informative, and scheduled an appointment for the next morning at 11am, to review what we wanted and give us an estimate. The next morning, our electrician, Pedro, called and asked if he could arrive at 9:30am. We happily agreed. He arrived on time, listened to our wishes, gave us a reasonable estimate, and got right to work. He was efficient and thorough, and very easy to communicate with. We had an extra project that we had been told would not be easy to do, or even possible; when we told Pedro what we wanted, he went out to the truck and brought in a rather new item that was exactly what we needed! The entire project with the add-ons came in still within the projected time frame, and within budget. We used the yelp 'Deal' so it was even less than the estimate. We would recommend this company to friends and will use them for future electrical projects. read more

I have been meaning to change out some fluorescent light fixtures for several years but I never got around to doing it because I thought it would be a big hassle. This company company initially appeared to have a good business model that involved clear communication about updates and very pleasant service people. However, I would advise against using this company for major electric repairs. I clearly described the power surge problem to the service men who came out and asked repeatedly if replacing my entire electric panel as they advised would solve the problem. They assured me it would, and I proceeded to put 50% down (about $1500). The day before the panel replacement, just by accident, an APS serviceman received a shock from my panel, and I then learned that the problem was due to a faulty APS ground wire and that replacing the panel would not, as I'd been assured, solve my surge problem. I cancelled the panel replacement. I was then told that only $400 of my down payment could be returned to me. No itemization was provided, despite my asking for a justification for their retaining around $1000 without having provided any electric service. I spoke to a manager who referred vaguely to restocking charges on ordered parts and the cost of an already secured permit (the latter was a legitimate cost, but he would not tell me what the company had actually paid for the permit). When I complained that I was being economically penalized for the servicemen's failure to mention that the surge problem could be due to APS lines, I was told that service people couldn't spend two hours going through all of the possibilities (mind you, it took the APS person one minute of listening to my description of the problem to be virtually certain that the issue was the ground wire, and another two minutes to verify that). The manager also insisted I should go ahead with the panel replacement since my panel was old and would eventually fail, even though I did not need a panel replacement. After much back and forth, I finally proposed giving them $400 for the permit, which was accepted. None of this was good business practice. read more

Everybody, from the office staff to Pedro, our technician, gets five stars from us. The office staff was very friendly; and they able to schedule an appointment for us in a timely manner. They told us what to expect in the way of communication from them and the technician. Pedro called us the day before and said it looked like he could come at an earlier time if it was convenient to have him do so. The day of the appointment Pedro called to give us a 15 minute notice of his arrival. Pedro was friendly and efficient, and went above and beyond to take care of our minor electrical issues. He cleaned up after himself, and made sure we were satisfied with his work before he left. We were impressed with the way he had his tools organized in a tool backpack; and with his enthusiasm for his job. Pedro said he had been working for TIO for about 3 years, and he really liked the company. We will definitely use TIO Electric again. And, if you have something that WON'T turn on, we recommend that you call Turn It On Electric, too! read more

UPDATE: My review while an honest opinion, needs an update. I had a call from the company and I wasn't going to call back because I wasn't looking to argue... but I did. They actually were very nice and began with an apology and an offer to make things right. We also talked about my review, and it was explained there were some miscommunications and misunderstandings and what caused them. What they said was plausible. Most important and not just for them, but for anyone is that they owned their mistakes. They didn't just leave them like other businesses have done, they owned them, and tried to correct them, but I already had someone else come out for the problems. At least they tried and that has to count for something. They didn't ask me to rewrite the review or take it down, or offer me money to change it, all of which has happened with others. I offered to update. It is also why I usually don't write reviews right away, because I want to try and keep things in perspective, and be fair, and in this case, my frustration got to me and I am sorry. Again, it doesn't mean that things happened any differently, they didn't. At least there are possible reasons. So I upgraded their stars, the rest is up to you to decide. read more
