I passed it at first because it's a part of a living quarters and doesn't really stick out. I ordered a acai bowl, breakfast potatoes and a coffee. Everything tasted great and fresh and the portion size is large which I love! Large portions sizes are a big plus considering the cost of food in Sf! The cafe is kind of small with limited seating so hopefully you don't go when they're busy. But serivice from the staff is fast efficient and they're friendly. 1pm, Wednesday Ignore the posted address, the Cafe resides just inside Axium Hotel, directly across from Powell Cable Car turnaround. The cafe is really a bar, you order in person, QR code or computer screen. They call the kitchen with your order. Lots of confusion. Asked for Avocado Toast, side bacon & milk tea. (This is also the not advertised Little Sweet, boba cafe). Anyway, order arrived. Yay, toast actually toasted on a neutral thin slice of possibly sourdough. To my surprise, there was a very thin layer of guacamole which was smothered by giant layer of burrata, balsamic drizzle, topped with three cooked cherry tomatoes. Tasted great, but I scraped off most of the cheese. They should have called this burrata toast. Three strips of bacon perfectly prepared, combo crisp & chewy. Milk tea arrived as plain black tea. I asked for some steamed milk, no problem. Friendly staff. Guy who delivered the toast advised me next time I should make it clear I wanted the bread toasted. Huh? It was well toasted, as expected for something called Avocado Toast. Extra points for providing a serrated steak knife so I didn't have to shred the heck out of my food with a glorified butter knife. Seriously, only two of the many cafes I've been to thought of this. Because you're sitting in the hotel lobby it's easy to linger amongst the coffee & day drinkers. There's 3 elevated cafe tables with back support stools. The lobby has one table for four & three areas with upholstered seating. Don't expect a quiet experience. There's loud rock, staff shouting in Spanish & Mandarin, vacuuming. Let's call it upbeat. If in Union, Square Turn Cafe is a convenient, solid choice. No regrets. read more

Long version: Turn Cafe and Little Sweet are two names/brands for essentially the same business that operates out of the ground floor of the Axiom Hotel in San Francisco: https://www.yelp.com/biz/axiom-hotel-san-francisco It's a little confusing. The Turn Cafe opened along with the Axiom Hotel in 2016. I found its Yelp listing, but it was marked closed. Because the business never actually closed, I tried to reopen it and merge it with this listing for "Turn Cafe - Little Sweet." The reopen was successful, but the merge was not: https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-turn-cafe-san-francisco Little Sweet is a local, San-Francisco-only bubble tea chain with seven locations, at the time of writing this review. The first Yelp review for this location was posted on March 4, 2023. On Instagram, in September 2023, Little Sweet (@littlesweetsf) described this location as their "newest pop up location." We ordered multiple times, both in person at the counter and with our phones by scanning the QR code on the TV in our hotel room. The QR code linked to a Little Sweet menu, hosted by Square, that included items from both Little Sweet (e.g., bubble tea, egg puff waffles) and the Turn Cafe (e.g., coffee, pastries). The pastries were large, fresh, and satisfying. They hit the spot. Service was excellent. At times, there was only one barista and he had a lot of customers to serve. I wish I'd gotten his name so I could mention it here. He was friendly and had a great attitude. Along with ordering at the counter and online/phone, there was a self-serve touchpad kiosk just inside the Powell Street entrance. If I recall correctly, that kiosk was for Little Sweet only. The interior is beautiful and a big part of the Axiom Hotel's appeal. This is a boutique hotel with a trendy and chic interior design. The cafe has both classical and modern design elements, nods to the history of the building (built in 1908) and city, and a unique, stunning, contemporary chandelier. There's a variety of seating on two levels. The second level (mezzanine) is where the hotel's lounge is located. It has power outlets for devices, big-screen TVs playing sports, and arcade games. I was in need of a boba fix and found this place nearby the hotel I was staying at. The variety is pretty standard here. I have tried the White Gourd Milk Tea in the past, which was okay. This visit, I tried out the Strawberry Matcha Latte. They were generous with the amount of strawberry they put in the drink and the matcha was pretty good quality, but I think the drink didn't have a good balance. The initial taste would be matcha, and then all I'd taste was strawberry after. I think if the strawberries were less chunky or had less seeds, it'd be more enjoyable. read more

Little Sweet is such a cute little boba shop inside of the Axiom hotel. The ambiance was super cozy with a handful of seats to choose from. It was busy when we went and there were practically no open tables available. My friends and I ordered through the kiosk, and our drinks were ready just about a minute later. I got the Mango Sago and absolutely loved it. It was delicious! The mango was super fresh and I loved the creaminess from the coconut milk. I got the strawberry matcha tea with boba and oat milk. I liked all the different flavors and textures - strawberry chunks, matcha tea, and boba pearls. There are non dairy milk options like oat milk, soy milk, and almond milk. However, there is no option to adjust the ice. About 60% of it was ice and I had a hard time getting to the pearls towards the end This place is also located at a hotel entrance and you order from a kiosk. I was walking up Powell passing the cable car turnaround when I noticed a sidewalk sign for Little Sweet so I went inside and found that it shares space with a coffee bar inside of Axiom Hotel. I was looking for a tea with a strong tea flavor but the staff said they didn't have the iron Buddha milk tea at this location. He said he's only tried the matcha teas which he liked. I decided to get a warm high mountain tea with no milk and 50% sugar. After ordering at the kiosk, I went to the hotel's front desk to borrow a key to use the bathroom downstairs. The staff walked me downstairs because the key was loaned out and told me that the boba shop was always here but recently reopened after the pandemic. Both visits I opted to get the Axiom latte which I was told was a latte with caramel and vanilla. It wasn't too sweet and did the job to get me moving to my morning meetings. She told me that this was their "caramel macchiato" for the Starbucks customers. The first day I asked for them to stir mine instead of doing the macchiato layers, she seemed a little confused so I guessed that they don't do the macchiato layers. The next day I just ordered it without special instruction and I was treated to some latte art. The drink wasn't layered as a macchiato normally would be so I was pleased. I noticed a few people come in fro the cable car line to grab a quick drink and to warm up for a minute. They are open from 6:30am to 10 or 11pm so it's a great spot to just grab a coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. I enjoyed the staff here. They were friendly and their aim was to make me a delicious drink. The store front is cute and has "Little Sweet" on the milk tea. But the actual milk tea I got was literally 80% ice, no exaggeration! Sooo much ice! So little milk tea! Their union square location doesn't do this. For $9 it was pretty much a cup of ice with like 3 to 4 shots of milk tea in it. I barely drank much and all I'm left with was ice. Milk tea isn't alcohol. The proportions were just so off. I also had their breakfast burrito. It was ok and I finished it since I was hungry, but it basically tastes like an American high school lunch. The photos on their Yelp are pretty misleading. The photos all show the food presented very neatly on a plate making it look like a nice breakfast/brunch spot. When you actually walk in, it looks like you've just entered into a tiny front of a hotel or something. There are 2 stools to sit on for each of the 4 round tables. Randomly stumbled upon it when looking for the other Little Sweet location in Union Square. The boba drinks are similar to other Little Sweet locations and the staff is super nice and friendly! One of the staff members told us about the upstairs lounge (which I love!) in the hotel which guests can use. There are couches, chairs, arcade machines, and even giant TVs. Sometimes it's hard to find a cozy, comfortable place in the city where you can have boba and just chill, and so it's awesome that this location offers that right in downtown. The Happy Hour looked legit. 3-7pm. $4.5 beers, $4 champagne and $6 wine-- along with oysters, street tacos, burgers .... and cajun kale chips? The Turn Cafe is open on the daily (almost) 6:30AM-10PM. It boasts free Wi-Fi and a bunch of spots to sit throughout the main level of the Axiom. I loved the vibe, and grabbed a vanilla latte to-go. That was that. The staff wasn't very pleasant, but it was early the morning. So, I'll give them a pass. The Turn Cafe is the cafe/bar in the lounge of the Axiom Hotel, where I stayed in November. We did a small breakfast there our first morning in the hotel, and for a bowl of very plain oatmeal with a few nuts and some sugar sprinkled atop (not the luscious feast the description made it sound like it would be) we paid far too much, I think $10 for the bowl? Definitely wouldn't recommend. The service was prompt to begin with, and friendly enough, but then after giving us menus they seemed to forget about us for a long time. Maybe understaffed as the staff has to deliver some room-service as well, but I think we were the only seated guests in the cafe space at the time, so I would have thought they would extend better customer service for those whose faces are in sight of their own. On Saturday night, after dinner, we had skimmed a bunch of bars and not found anywhere without an extreme wait or necessary reservation, so we ended up back at the hotel bar to have some casual cocktails and a little late night snack. They smiled and greeted us, but after us sitting down we were again ignored for close to 15 minutes or more before flagging them down, actually standing up and walking to them and telling them we wanted to order. Again, there were only a couple other folks at the bar, and we were just beyond at a table in sight of the bar, so definitely not "out of sight, out of mind". The bartender was chill once we ordered and he realized we actually had bartending knowledge and were expecting something good from him; I think he was glad we weren't just getting vodka crans or a bottle of beer. I imagine in a hotel bar there aren't a lot of people seeking craft cocktails, and so he respected our respect for his craft maybe. He brought them over smiling and after giving us a few minutes to enjoy he came back to check how we liked them and was chatty and smiley. We also got fries and oysters. A perfect late night snack if I do say so myself. Very yummy. And compared to the breakfast prices, fairly reasonable. Overall an underwhelming experience, but the quality of the food was pretty good and it was definitely a nice-looking, concise bar area, fitting well into the hotel's vibe. This little cafe is located on the main floor of the Axiom hotel, with an entrance of its own right by the Powell Cable Cars stop. The café has a lot of cute selections for the coffee lovers- from cappuccinos to Vietnamese coffee, there's something for everyone! That barely scratches the surface though because they also have a variety of pastries and treats, as well as hot breakfasts. Did I mention mimosas? Oh, well I should because they are delicious and only $4 on special! I had breakfast here almost every day during my stay and never once tried something I didn't like- and I tried something different every day. My favourite items were the California breakfast burrito and the avocado toast. I don't know if it's because avocados are just so good in California, or because the combinations of flavours they chose were just so darn tasty, but oh man...I could have eaten those every day! I also really liked their grapefruit mimosas. I don't think I'll be able to go back to orange juice again! So, if you're waiting to get on those cable cars, and you need a quick bite- stop in and grab something here, you can take it to go, and your mouth and belly will be happy and satisfied while you wait. This is a nice little cafe located in the Axiom Hotel. It has a good ambiance with a friendly bartender. I tried the Ahi Tuna Tartare which was pretty salty, and the yam fries. The fries were pretty good. I was honestly so hungry that I ate everything anyway. Food came out pretty quickly so I was happy. Their menu says "Megabytes," "Gigabytes," and "Kilobytes" to designate the size of the plates, which I thought was pretty cool. They have an espresso machine, so you can get most coffee drinks like lattes and cappuccino. Our barista was pretty good and my latte was delicious. The drink was smooth and the beans they used was a medium roast but it was flavorful nonetheless. If you're a coffee snob, there are a few Notable coffee shops around the area. Awww shucks. Unfortunately, my memory of this experience will weigh heavily on the overly oily kale chips. My intentions of ordering a light and healthy snack/meal were derailed by the massive amount of oil used to bake their kale chips. Yes, the price was saltier than I was hoping but the speed, convenience and professionalism were all on point. Note that they offer a daily happy hour but this cannot be used with room service (womp womp). I thought I was about to strike gold with happy hour room delivery! This small café also serves of coffee drinks and a variety of pastries in the morning. The pastry line up looked delicious. I did however get an espresso martini which was on their happy hour. It tasted delicious! It can take a bit if it's busy though. FYI there's only 2 happy hour "cocktails" which change daily. After just arriving from a cross-country flight, I was in need of something strongly caffeinated, but I also wanted a fun evening drink. The bartender fixed me a delicious Irish coffee, which hit the spot! I stopped in again the next morning for a regular non-fat latte, which was really yummy as well. On the last evening of my trip, I opted to grab a glass of wine at the bar to take to my room. The bartenders (at this point friendly faces) served me quickly and wished me well. The prices are a little steep, but that is to be expected at a hotel bar. Again, the service is what really won me over here.
