From the buffet..cold lamb
Elysa O.

This spot is across the street from my office. My coworker swears by it so I decided to give it a try. Once, I ordered from the grill. I got a chicken steak sandwich. Chicken steak is basically chicken kebab in a pita with cucumber salad. It was delicious! They offer you white sauce along with there special hot sauce. I wish the house sauce had more spice, it taste more tomatoes with pepper than hot sauce. Since, my first visit was a success, I decided to try the hot buffet on my second visit. This visit wasn"t successful. The food was cold. I hate cold lamb and since I got a cold salad with it, I couldnt heat it up in my office microwave. I think i'm gonna just stick to the made to order sandwiches at the grill.

I've tried the steak+peppers with mac and cheese w/ cornbread, kofte platter, cinnamon donut, almond biscotti, lentil soup, and chickpea tuna sandwich as well as their specialty drinks like the tahini iced latte. Literally all so amazing. Wish I lived closer to this place! This place is a worthy food experience, has great service and hospitable environment. Hope they stay open for long, long time :)

They also have gluten free options which are great. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. It is a very small establishment so there can often be a wait for a table. My favorite meal is the kofte wrap. The flavors and combination of veggies and vegan "sausage" are some of the best out there. They can also substitute a gluten free wrap for those with dietary restrictions and they take allergies seriously. The breakfast board is also a great tasty option to get a bit of variety with olives, vegan cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a pita-like bread. For the baked goods, the menu changes by the day so there's always new things to try. They will sometimes have donuts which are my absolute favorite when they are in stock. My favorite baked goods in their rotation are the pistachio donut and the pistachio rose cake. They also do custom cakes if you are ordering for an event.

When my boyfriend and I decided to try out Marmara we weren't expecting anything as great as it…read morewas... It's in a fricking mall! We've been there once every week for the last month...... I've enjoyed the Branzini very much ( fillet it to avoid bones) Their balloon bread is amazing with the Tapenade they serve. We always get their hummus. And their grape leaves. The Shephards salad which Is mostly tomato &cucumbers w a flavorful dressing (we put on side) .. there's just something about using their balloon bread to scoop up your salad and dips... Yep, we always get a second order of the bread... It's very light and thin and doesn't feel as gluttonous. Everybody is very courteous... It's like going to a restaurant in the city... A belly like dancer surprised us on a Friday night which was fun. I don't really wanna recommend this too much because I don't want it to get so busy that I can't get in when I want to lol but seriously it's a really great experience. They do have wine, but we bring our own and they are happy to fill a glass! Enjoy

The food is delicious, 10/10. I've been here about 5 times and have never had a bad meal…read more The service on the other hand is very slow. Consistently. It takes about 30 minutes to get your food and even longer to get a check after the fact. Which is crazy because my table was only one out of 3 other tables in the restaurant. A 20% tip is automatically applied to your bill, and then still asked if you want to tip ON TOP OF THE FACT so pay attention to your bill! Part of me thinks the reason the service isn't as good is because they know they're automatically getting that tip, but another part of me hopes that isn't the case. Ambiance is nice, very beautiful and great place for pictures.

COME HUNGRY! I came here to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday with my husband's family…read morerecently. There were 6 of us and we split the Efsane Family Special for 4 people and added lamb chops thinking we wouldn't have enough food lol the special also came with dessert but my sister-in-law also ordered a rice pudding. The 6 of us could've easily had the family special for 4 without ordering anything else - there was so much food and we had leftovers to take home!! For context, we all eat a LOT so to say we had leftovers is saying a lot! Quantity aside, the food itself was delicious. The bread is served fresh and steaming hot, the dips are delicious and flavorful, meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly (the chicken shish and lamb adana are my favorites), and the bitter black tea and sweet baklava are a perfect way to end the meal. I left there stuffed and so happy! The staff was also very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back!

I just moved from Montclair, which is very near the famous middle eastern food scene in Paterson,…read moreNJ. I was very worried that, after the move, I would not be able to find middle eastern food that would compare. However, I was wrong, and Esfane definitely satisfied my craving! I was in the mood for a light lunch, so I ordered the Shepard's Salad, the Baba Ghannouj, and the Lentil Soup. The Baba Ghannouj was excellent and came with lots of pita bread. It could've been a little smokier for my taste, but overall I got a huge serving and it was very creamy and flavorful. The Sheppard's salad was similarly huge and delicious. The lentil soup tasted home-made and was so comforting to dip all of my extra bread in. At the end of lunch, I was also served some complimentary tea, which definiitely was the icing on the cake to this exceptional experience. Overall, I was extremely satisfied by the quality of the food, but also by the amount. The service was similarly excellent. My water was constantly filled and the waiters checked on me numerous times to ensure everything was going well. The decorations inside were also exceptional, and the restaurant definitely gives high-class date night vibes. I could totally see coming back for a date night with my husband. I think the only downside is that I didn't find the food to be QUITE as good as some Paterson joints like Al Basha, and the price felt like it was 1.5x-2x as much. Probably worth it though, because this has got to be one of the better restaurants around in Flanders.
