Came here last week to celebrate my friends birthday, absolutely outstanding dishes. Food: we ordered some hummus and pita for the table which was smooth, but I ended up ordering a beyti kebab for the first time which was out of this world. The sauces and lamb were such a good compliment to each other. Aesthetic: beautiful aesthetic with dining sitting on one side and a party room on the other. Service: all of the people who helped us and worked were outstanding and super patient as we were waiting for a friend to come

The food here was really great and tasted authentic. Everything felt fresh, and the portions were generous for the price. The interior decor is also beautiful, which made the experience even nicer. The service is also great, the staff is very nice and attentive. They have a lunch special menu that's an especially good deal; you get a nice amount of food with soup, an appetizer, and an entrée for a very reasonable price. Overall, it felt like great value for the quality. I'd definitely love to come back in the future.

My first Turkish food experience and it was amazing in all aspects for me. While I didn't get the name of the servers, they were all very kind and attentive. My partner had been wanting to take me here and also go back for himself for a while and I'm so glad he introduced me to Turkish cuisine because it is delicious. We got the stuffed grape leaves, Lebni dip, lamb casserole, and the Künefe for dessert. Our server was very kind and also offered some complimentary tea in the cutest cup! They do also give complimentary Turkish bread called balloon bread and I was immediately "blown" away by it. What a fun and new way to start a meal! It was quite literally blown up like a balloon and where it inflated was nice and soft and down on the bottom was a nice crispy crunchier texture. If I had more room in my stomach I would've asked for more. If you like toast and butter, this will be the next level. Their lebni dip was delicious as well and honestly I just really loved their breads here. While I was stuffing myself with bread, our main entree - the lamb casserole - finally came out. Things took a little longer to come out but it seems like it's all made to order , so it's fresh, even the bread! I really appreciated that about this place. The server mentioned that today there was no casserole which honestly I didn't mind as the dish was delicious still. I loved the bits of lamb and diced up veggies and we ate this plate clean. Finally, one of the things my partner was most excited for - the Künefe. We loved it so much we started searching for Turkish food around our areas and even recipes! This was such an interesting dessert I wish I could eat again!! It's made of fried shredded phyllo dough and it was topped with some pistachios I believe. Honestly what made this whole meal so lovely besides the food was our server. He was so kind and patient and full of pride for the chef and food. I loved the way he talked about the dishes and how he had came from another state to come work here. This place is seriously delicious and I hope more people stop by! It's really pretty inside as well, the art I thought was really unique as I've never seen much of it before. All in all, thank you to Efsane's staff and chefs for such a lovely experience. I hope to return soon!

-This review is for takeout via Uber Eats- The food scene is Flanders is nothing to rave about so color me surprised when I was blown away by Efsane's food. I ordered Efsane last minute for a birthday lunch since my original plans fell through. The person is usually pretty picky about what they eat and they thoroughly enjoyed everything! I ordered the lamb chops, salmon, and mix grill. All were delicious but the lamb chops and mix grill were amazing. I feel like lamb can be pretty finicky to cook but their lamb was not tough and seasoned well. The mix grill had really generous portions and tasted better than Cinar! Each dish comes with cous cous (?) and rice. We were also given individual portions of salad that was delicious! I also ordered the lentil soup for someone at the lunch and they said it was delicious. The bread is also amazing! Mediterranean places I've eaten at usually just give a round pita, but I'm pretty sure the bread here is made in house. It's so fresh and pillowy, I could totally eat a ton of this bread on its own. Such a solid place for Mediterranean and highly recommend it!

Went with a friend here on a Monday night, upon her suggestion. This restaurant has beautiful decor and felt very cozy when we went! I loved the velvet blue chairs at the table we sat at. Their service balances both friendliness and professionalism. They checked in with us occasionally without being overbearing. It was really great Mediterranean food, starting with their bread appetizer which reminded me of a floof/cloud ! I got an okra veggie casserole dish (never tried before) and even just the presentation of it was so aesthetic. My eyes feasted before I tasted it. The falafels were very good too, though I surprised that it was so soft inside (the outside was crunchy). Finally, I made a significant trek to come here and I'll say it was the right decision! This is one those restaurants that hits all the right spots.

We ordered delivery and was pleasantly surprised by how well everything traveled. The food arrived warm and delicious. This was our first experience with Efsane, and we will definitely be ordering again. The highlight was the ground beef pie, which tasted like a meat pizza, and the chicken adana was very well-seasoned. I would definitely recommend!

    Yum 1000x!

The food is excellent. The service is friendly and warm. The ambiance is lovely. I love the calf liver cubes. I order it every time I come here (which is not often enough). The appetizer tray consists of six different delightful offerings. The homemade bread is as delicious as it is beautiful to look at. I will be coming back soon!

I loved this place! Beautiful turkish decor, staff who are friendly and great at their jobs, as well as AMAZING food! Portions are large and it is cooked perfectly, Can't wait to go back!

Balloon bread, like inflated pita bread but tastier!

We love Mediterranean food and this restaurant did not disappoint. I recommend you try their appetizer sampler, comes with a delicious "balloon bread". All food was fresh, delicious and service was courteous and authentic. We will definitely go again.

I could not view reviews of dishes, so had to step outside to take a peak. Cannot justify paying such prices for dinning in a tiny, dark space in half-basement in the middle of NJ. Just can't. The portions are generous, which is good. But the prices are still outrageous for the location and vibe. It is BYOB for alcohol. We walked in on Sunday at 6pm without reservations and by 7pm, the small space filled up. The $12 hummus was bad. Store bought hummus of the cheapest brand tastes better. Seriously don't understand how a hummus can taste so bland and meh. No seasoning? The pita that came with it was low quality--it gave my friend an allergic reaction right away [he has sensitivity towards poor quality flour products]. $44 paidakia--lamb chops--had 4 chops that were tender and delicate. Pasnip pure was bland and totally a miss--did nothing to complement anything on the plate. Barely any demi lace sauce--definitely on the dry side. Asked for potatoes to be sutstituted for brocollini, but the kitchen did not follow through with that ask, even though our waitress confirmed it was possible. $39 lamb souvlaki was a solid dish. Filling and hearty. Good quality meat skewer. Smoked eggplant puree had a very strong smoke flavor. Lemony potatoes had bright, refreshing lemomy flavor that we appreciated. Service is attentive and quick. Complementary toothbrushes in the bathroom were a nice touch--a star for this little amenity.

Starting off, the grilled octopus with capers, onions, and red peppers was the best I've ever had--simply amazing. It was light, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. This is an absolute must-order appetizer. For my entrée, I ordered the Diver scallops with grilled asparagus risotto, crab meat, and crispy prosciutto.
