Another over hyped Denville business. They're just not that good. The service is subpar and the food is barely average.

I arrived just before their three o'clock lunch break and was accommodated by their daughter (who was really friendly and kind). I ordered a chicken shawerma Haifa sandwich, and I watched my pita being toasted over a charcoal fire (she used a fan to literally fan the coal fire). I needed to use two hands, and from my first bite I was in nirvana. I asked and was given a fork and extra sauce. Remarkably good falafel, delicious chicken, and oh, that secret sauce. It's right on Speedwell (a busy street) near a funky intersection that gets tied up quickly. Do yourself a favor and park on a side street a block away: you'll whet your appetite on the walk there, and float in bliss on your way back. Superb. Great value. Just a gem. I will most definitely return and highly recommend it.

The owner is extremely sweet and will walk you through the menu. You can immediately pick up that he's attentive and cares so much about his food and how his customers are taken care of. There is some seating, but not a lot so keep that in mind. I didn't mind as I did take out. Highly recommended!

It's a BYO, so be sure to bring whatever adult beverage you like and they will serve it to you. The mixed appetizer platter had something for everyone. Their hummus is fresh and delicious. Also comes with babaghanoush (smoked eggplant w/tahini, garlic, lemon and olive oil), lebni (strained yogurt w/ walnuts, garlic and dill), & stuffed grape leaves. It comes with plenty of pita bread to spread or dip with. I absolutely loved the zucchini pancakes because they were not at all greasy! We also ordered the Turkish tea and coffee to enjoy there but were too full for dessert. They have something for everyone. Stop in and enjoy delicious food in a calm and peaceful setting. They also give you delightfully scented hand wipes before sending you back into the real world.

The two times I've been in, they've brought out samples of thier menu items to try. I've ordered various things on the menu: hummus, lebneh, falafel wraps, falafel platters, baked kibbe platters, the green bean side, etc. All have been amongst the best Lebanese food I've tried. I want to expand and try more things, like the chicken and beef kafta. If you have questions just ask. Certain platters come with different items. Some rice, some salad, etc. Thier pita is fresh and delicious, and comes in different sizes. They have a decent sized dining area for dine-in, and the take-out area is right as you walk in the side door. Here you will also find a grocery area with Lebanese essentials. The selection is sizable, and offers items you won't find in a regular grocery store. I stocked up on spices, and coffee. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. I will return every opportunity I get.

The mini market is a random mixture of middle eastern food. Right behind the cash register is a menu of middle eastern food, such as sandwiches, plates or other food - typical chicken over rice, falafel, gyro, etc. I had the chicken over rice and falafel. It comes with rice, lettuce, onions and tomato. The box looks small but it is a lot of food and they give you a lot of chicken. It tasted very good and flavorful. Prices are reasonable. No seating inside. Parking lot on the side. I went here purely due to yelp reviews and it was a good find!

I was working in Northern Westchester this past week and was looking for a spot to grab some lunch…read more I turned to my handy Yelp app and Almadinah stood out to me the most; the pictures and reviews looked great, and since I was in the mood for Middle Eastern I thought it would be the perfect place to try, so off I went. It's easy to miss Almadinah if you're not purposefully looking for it - it has somewhat of an inconspicuous exterior that blends with its surrounding businesses. The interior tells a different story - they have a small selection of Middle Eastern groceries, and a menu of hot food to take out. It wasn't crowded when I arrived, but there is a good amount of space so that even if there are a few people shopping and ordering it's not overwhelming. I was here for their hot menu, so I drew my attention towards that; the selection is similar to other Middle Eastern and Halal spots I've been to: chicken, beef, and lamb over rice or in a wrap, falafel, baba ghanoush, and a selection of apps. I decided to get the chicken and rice, the dish came with lettuce as well and I had it topped with white and hot sauce. The dish was great - fresh, warm, and full of flavor. They didn't skimp on any of the components, and all the flavors worked really well together. The dish also included some pita which was a nice touch. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a great experience at Almadinah. I'll be honest, I had low expectations of this place since my experiences at eateries in Northern Westchester have been mixed, but they really exceeded my expectations and provided a delicious lunch. I would have no qualms returning if I'm in the area again.
