I have been here for lunch several times as my office is nearby, and the food is always very good. I highly recommend starting with the lentil soup, as it is flavorful and delicious. I typically get the lamb and gyro shawarma sandwich with tzatziki sauce, served with your choice of rice, couscous, salad, or french fries. It is consistently very tasty. I also tried a bite of the tilapia recently and it was also really good and seasoned very well. The food is wonderful and the server, Seif is very nice. Delivery service was prompt and courteous - an "excellent." Can't comment on ambiance as this was delivery. Ample portion sizes for the 2 appetizers - the falafel and the hummus. Enough each to be shared. The pita served with the hummus was cut up into wedges which were still warm and moist. However, the falafel balls were overcooked, and the tahini was so watery I tossed it. Came here for dinner last week and ate outside. The server was so friendly! We ordered salmon kebabs which were great. For my son we ordered steak kebabs, it was about $15-$16 for the kebabs without sides, he loved it! We've ordered delivery a few times, always good. The restaurant is rather narrow inside, but you're still separated enough from others to enjoy your dining experience. It was during the summer so there were a few bugs outside but the owners were fast acting and got us a candle. The food was absolutely amazing. Everything was just delicious! The shawarma platter was tasty and filling as was the rosemary chicken with rice and veggies. It was all very well spiced. It's a very small but inviting space. It is a small restaurant on a busy street but a diamond in the rough. I like mediterranean food a lot so others may not as much, but the chicken shawarma was perfect. Amazing food!! We got the sampler to try out more apps. We tried Saksuka and roasted potatoes for the first time and it was beyond delicious. So flavorful and fresh. The labneh was on point and the falafel were fresh and crispy. Our tabouli salad (no picture bc we dig right in) was extremely well made. Super fresh veggies and parsley tasted great bc of the right amount of acidity from lime/lemon juice. What a great meal!!! And finally to top it off the dessert was different - I have had kunafa/kunefe before but this was a bit different. The inside filling had a minty taste. It was really good!! It was with my wife's recommendation that we visited Biladi Grill in Madison this past week. prior to arriving we called our order in, we had originally decided to eat in the car however, once we arrived we noticed some tables outside with an array of trees spaced out in front directly on the street witch immediately caught my eye. Once we approached the restaurant we were greeted by Anthony we asked if the tables were available with the most welcoming greeting I have ever experienced Anthony sat us. Anthony brought our food to the table when it was ready. Once the Shawarmas accompanied by some delicious fries .. arrived we went to town on these delicious Shawarmas, WOW they were something to talk about I can't imagine never hearing about this place before. after some small talk with Anthony we learned that he was the owner , we inquired about the origin of the foods he served and we were very impressed how much detail he put into making his delightful and delicious food from scratch. We decided we wanted Mediterranean and to try a new place which took us to Madison and Biladi Grill. The restaurant itself was small and quaint on the Main Street of Madison. We sat by the window but the person servicing us lacked any enthusiasm or interest in servicing us. We ordered the Sampler Platter to start with and for entrees, we ordered Mixed Grill Platter, Shawarma entree and Salmon Kebabs. The Sampler Platter was DELICIOUS and hands down the BEST part of the meal. You can choose 3 items for your platter- we chose hummus, saksuka, and falafel and we loved all 3!! The pita bread was fresh, soft and warm. We had mixed feelings about the Mixed grill. The Kofta was average. The chicken kofta was on the dry side. The chicken kebab was ok again, a little on the dry side. The beef and lamb shwarma was good but, not over the top. The Salmon Kebab was the best plate that we enjoyed with the salmon perfectly grilled - moist, flavorful and tender. My boys loved the rice that was one of the side options and the sautéed veggies were very good. Additional help came in and the service improved by the end of the meal. Given the good reviews, the day may have been an off day. I would definitely give the restaurant another chance and try it again!!! read more

Solid Middle Eastern cuisine. This BYOB is kind of small and tight, but cozy. The waitress was nice and attentive, despite having to wait on a lot of tables at the same time. On to the food! Appetizers 1. Felafel - I'll admit I'm not really a felafel expert, but I've had better and I've had worse, so this one was probably about average. It was crispy on the outside and had some spiciness to the inside, which was interesting. The sauce helped with the dryness. 2. Lentil Soup - My wife enjoyed it and I thought it was pretty good. Again had a little bit of spiciness. 3. Moussaka - This was really good and my wife liked it, too. According to their menu, it is "layers of ground beef, potatoes, sliced eggplant topped with a creamy cheese béchamel sauce baked to a golden perfection". Entrees: 1. Chicken Shawarma (gyro) - This was really tasty. I suppose it could have used some more chicken, but it was satisfying. My wife liked it, too. 2. Mediterranean wrap - My wife thought it was OK, but not as tasty as the shawarma gyro. Prices were decent, so it's a good local spot for Madison. I'll be back for sure next time I'm in the mood. It pains to do this but I have since been to Biladi Grill 2x in the past 2 weeks and each time the food was inedible. It was over seasoned to a point that if I scraped off the seasoning I would be able to fill up a salt shaker (exaggerating but not really). The chicken was gross...fatty and chunky tasting... The lamb, which my wife loved, was over seasoned (both times) and stringy. I really liked this place months ago but it has gone down hill...we have officially crossed this off our return lists. Been here twice and both times were excellent. The most recent meal was actually perfect. I enjoyed the chicken kabob with salad and couscous with a plate of the roasted rosemary potatoes for the table. My lady friend equally enjoyed her seasoned shrimp. Frankly, the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. I'm used to tiny little storefronts that make falafel sandwiches in front of you -- and I don't even mind that so much because I like falafels. But this was many steps above that in taste and class. As noted in another review, the food is very fresh. I get wonderfully tasty hummus with grilled pita to start, and my falafel sandwich (wrapped in a nice thick pita, not a supermarket-bought thin pita pocket) was crisp and yummy with great sauce and spices. I particularly like the red sauce they serve on the tables. Spicy and very flavorful. What's really nice is the ambiance and the friendliness of the father-son team who run the place. And the prices are very reasonable -- the only thing less expensive is pizza. My wife and I will be regulars for a long time. read more

We are the only table at 1:00pm on Saturday. It is a really quite place while staff and owners are studying next to us. This is the most expensive Mideast restaurant we ever visited. The starter pita is hot and tasty. Our platters of lamb, chicken, and beef kabab are chucky and large. The meat were perfectly cooked, tender inside and charcoaled outside. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the service. Four customers who ordered after me all got their food before me, and my food was similar to theirs. The food was delicious. I ordered the falafel platter which I chose to have with rice and couscous. I have no complaints about the food at all. However I had to ask the waiter when my food was coming out and he said "it's coming now, there was a mix up". Had I gotten my food in a timely manner, I would have given this place 5 stars. They didn't even offer to give me something for free (a piece of baklava wouldn't have been a bad idea). read more
