    Small Mixed Appetizer Platter

Found this spot on Yelp. Happy to say the food was absolutely delicious! Will be back!

The service is excellent and the food is freshly prepared ~ delicious!! Grillera is sure to please a range of gastronomy palates. It's a favorite place to go for a stellar dining experience!! Our foursome shared this beautiful appetizer plate last night.

Though the decor is a little dated looking, the food and service are great ! Five stars for friendly and attentive host/manager and waitress. My kids shared a chicken kebab entree and the meat was very juicy, they loved the rice too which is better than your ordinary white rice. We enjoyed the lamb kebabs, the meat though bordering tough - was cooked medium rare just like we asked, and was flavorful. All of the dips and salads were well executed- the smoky eggplant babaganoush, hummus and a spicier tomato dip with nuts I don't recall the name of. All yummy and served with warm bread. Don't skip the backlava! We also had a creamy dessert with the consistency of flan and cinnamon on top. It was not too sweet which I liked, but not everyone likes the flan texture. If you like flan or custard you will like the cream dessert.

The food quality is excellent and the service was friendly. We came for lunch and got the lamb shish kebab lunch special with lentil soup and the chicken shish kebab lunch special with shepherd salad. The lamb was very tender and the rice was tasty. We were blown away at the massive portions for lunch special but later found out they accidentally served us dinner portions. The lunch specials also come with coffee, tea, and soda. Overall, $13-14 is a steal for their lunch special and the fine dining ambiance. The complimentary bread was also baked fresh and served hot and was one of the best and freshest breads I've ever had. Overall, a little lighter on flavor than I prefer but the quality of the foods was excellent and we had a great experience.

Great food ! Very nice relaxing atmosphere. The place is byob and a non rushed relaxing dining experience we started out with stuffed grape leaves and babaganoush . The stuffed grape leaves were fresh and worth the trip ! I could have ate another plate of them ! The Babaganoush was awesome as well. For our dinners I had the Donar plate and my wife had the kofta (see pictures They are so tasty and a safe place to start if you never had Mediterranean food before . I look forward to coming back!

Perfectly grilled lamb and chicken, delightful vegetarian appetizers like hummus & baba ganoush, quiet dining room perfect for adult conversation with white table clothes too, good service, fair prices and bring your own. I'm a new fan of Grillera! Four of us started with the small mixed appetizer plate, $20, that included the thick yogurt called labni, kidney beans with tomatoes, spinach, a spicy vegetable mix, eggplant and a basket of delightfully warm small pita breads. I could've moved straight to dessert after that LOL. If you upgrade to the size large they add tabouli. We sampled for dinner the lamb chops, lamb shish kebabs, chicken shish kebabs, and the sliced lamb called donor kebab. All dinner entrées are basically meat with meat and rice, not really any veg sides served there. My Iskender (sliced lamb with tomato sauce and slabs of yogurt) was great but the buttered small chunks of bread hiding beneath didn't do it for me, a hot crusty pita would have been better. Vegetarian rating is weak 3 stars: one for the many veg apps, one for the single veg entree, one for the veg flatbread. Far fewer options than you might expect at a Turkish place. The kitchen was quite slow when we visited on a Tuesday, dining room half full, that was fine because we wanted to catch up with the people we brought. But if you're in a hurry you might leave with a very different opinion. I was here when it was broccolini, then it was a different Middle Eastern restaurant, this may be the best variation yet. I quibble a bit with their name "doner kebeb", I'm used to that being basically a gyro, the meat served in a pita with a nice tzatziki sauce on top, but whatever.

Is this place overpriced? $22 for kebabs seems out of line compared to other places

Not at all!! They serve a lot of food. I always have to take home have of it. And it's better than any other Mediterranean place around here. The service is excellent!

COME HUNGRY! I came here to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday with my husband's family…read morerecently. There were 6 of us and we split the Efsane Family Special for 4 people and added lamb chops thinking we wouldn't have enough food lol the special also came with dessert but my sister-in-law also ordered a rice pudding. The 6 of us could've easily had the family special for 4 without ordering anything else - there was so much food and we had leftovers to take home!! For context, we all eat a LOT so to say we had leftovers is saying a lot! Quantity aside, the food itself was delicious. The bread is served fresh and steaming hot, the dips are delicious and flavorful, meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly (the chicken shish and lamb adana are my favorites), and the bitter black tea and sweet baklava are a perfect way to end the meal. I left there stuffed and so happy! The staff was also very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back!

I was very worried that, after the move, I would not be able to find middle eastern food that would compare. However, I was wrong, and Esfane definitely satisfied my craving! I was in the mood for a light lunch, so I ordered the Shepard's Salad, the Baba Ghannouj, and the Lentil Soup. The Baba Ghannouj was excellent and came with lots of pita bread. It could've been a little smokier for my taste, but overall I got a huge serving and it was very creamy and flavorful. The Sheppard's salad was similarly huge and delicious. The lentil soup tasted home-made and was so comforting to dip all of my extra bread in. At the end of lunch, I was also served some complimentary tea, which definiitely was the icing on the cake to this exceptional experience. Overall, I was extremely satisfied by the quality of the food, but also by the amount. The service was similarly excellent. My water was constantly filled and the waiters checked on me numerous times to ensure everything was going well. The decorations inside were also exceptional, and the restaurant definitely gives high-class date night vibes. I could totally see coming back for a date night with my husband. I think the only downside is that I didn't find the food to be QUITE as good as some Paterson joints like Al Basha, and the price felt like it was 1.5x-2x as much. Probably worth it though, because this has got to be one of the better restaurants around in Flanders.

I could not view reviews of dishes, so had to step outside to take a peak. Cannot justify paying such prices for dinning in a tiny, dark space in half-basement in the middle of NJ. Just can't. The portions are generous, which is good. But the prices are still outrageous for the location and vibe. It is BYOB for alcohol. We walked in on Sunday at 6pm without reservations and by 7pm, the small space filled up. The $12 hummus was bad. Store bought hummus of the cheapest brand tastes better. Seriously don't understand how a hummus can taste so bland and meh. No seasoning? The pita that came with it was low quality--it gave my friend an allergic reaction right away [he has sensitivity towards poor quality flour products]. $44 paidakia--lamb chops--had 4 chops that were tender and delicate. Pasnip pure was bland and totally a miss--did nothing to complement anything on the plate. Barely any demi lace sauce--definitely on the dry side. Asked for potatoes to be sutstituted for brocollini, but the kitchen did not follow through with that ask, even though our waitress confirmed it was possible. $39 lamb souvlaki was a solid dish. Filling and hearty. Good quality meat skewer. Smoked eggplant puree had a very strong smoke flavor. Lemony potatoes had bright, refreshing lemomy flavor that we appreciated. Service is attentive and quick. Complementary toothbrushes in the bathroom were a nice touch--a star for this little amenity.
