Came here last Thursday and back here less than a week later! Our table ordered lamb shank (special), lamb chops, shawarma, kofta kebab, tilapia, salads, liver and so much more... I love this place and not only for the food but Theresa (waitress) is the best! One of the nice days recently was a great time to have lunch outdoors at the Biladi Grill. There is reasonable spacing between tables and the staff is all masked. A fun option for lunch is to order many appetizers that everyone shares. We had it all, baba ganoush, Creamy moussaka, sigara with cheese and ones with spinach filling, pita filled with cheese and tomato, spicy warm eggplant. It was all delicious. Serving staff is pleasant and helpful. We had a group for dinner one evening and decided to do takeout. Again we had several appetizers which were again delicious. We did a sampling of several different kebabs- chicken, lamb, beef - all of which were excellent. With the sides of rice and vegetables the dishes were very filling. After reading lots of positive reviews about Biladi's chicken, I decided to give it a try and I was so grateful that the chicken was not only cooked properly with a nice grilled flavor, but the Shawarma that it came in also came together well as a whole with lots of fresh vegetables. Though the tzatziki sauce in the shawarma didn't pack a punch as much as other sauces I've had, it still contributed to the moistness of the Shawarma. The pita was just perfect, nice and tender (also grilled). I was so shocked after receiving the Tabouleh salad. Not only was the portion humongous, it was also fresh and light. I could easily split it up to fulfill the vegetable requirement for 3 additional meals. (Note: If you don't like red onions, just let them know). I love them so I was very happy. Their french fries were also delicious even if they weren't as crispy as when fresh (I ordered delivery). I love their online ordering system and also the fact that they deliver ($15 minimum). Mediterranean type menu in the heart of Main Street of Madison. Very full menu with many options. Decided to start with calamari with said on the menu a spicy Mariana which was not spicy at all and small dish of sauce. The calamari was extremely extremely fresh. That was the best part of the meal. We also decided to have the Mediterranean salad which was ok nothing to run home about. For the people in my group my lamb chops were a little bit over cooked and not that great. The French fries were the best part of the meal and the special Biladi another person in my group decided on was tasty due to have same sauce flavor. I list the place A-OK, but we go to Biladi often and we order carry out regularly. It's one of the better establishments in Madison. The problem is Madison doesn't have great food, just A-OK food in town... I live in Madison... Food: while not the best Mediterranean I've ever had, Biladi is good. What I think is very good on the menu, several of the appetizers (in fact a meal of small plates there is very enjoyable). Favorite apps include the hummus, yogurt & cucumber, baba ghanoush, & grape leaves. Our favorite entrees on the menu include the Kofte & Chicken Kebab - I find these are NOT as good as the apps, but we eat them all of the time. Atmosphere: standard restaurant tables & chairs in a long & narrow dining room. There are numerous Egyptian photos, papyrus paintings, and often an Egyptian tourism video playing on the TV. A colleague and I happened to be in Madison for business around lunchtime. Mediterranean sounded good so, we popped into this place and, I am thrilled we did. I had the shrimp kabobs while my colleague had the rosemary chicken. The entrees were great, the used fresh veggies and roasted them for the sides and the salads were nice and crisp. We also ordered a spanikopita appetizer. My coworker doesn't eat bread but wanted to try the filling. They were kind enough to make a bowl of the spanikopita filling, just for him, and, no surprise, it was out of this world. So, great service, great food and fairly reasonable on price. Pretty decent place. Great for lunch. Small dining room but we had no issue on a Sunday. I had the beef and lamb kofta. The spices were good, but I have had better lamb recently. I've become a lamb snob apparently. They had a great hot sauce on the tables that I also recommend. Had with a side of veggies and rice. Overall pretty good. Service was fast and attentive. BYOB! K now that we got that out of the way... This place is small and always packed. The service is good, place is cute, and clean. Onto the food. I had the lentil soup which was a little too watery for my like, but the taste is right on point. The Felafel was a little bland so I threw it in my lentil soup to add some texture and made the best of it. What I truly enjoyed is what my husband picked, the shawarma (gyro); he always picks the better dish. If you come here I totally say get it because it's so flavorful and filling. I also recommend u get the moussaka it's like eggplant and cheese ecstasy. I love eggplant and this place makes it really well, it taste like a light lasagna. it's pretty cool to have a place like this in Madison, I love Mediterranean food. I especially love the chicken kebab - and I am weird about my chicken. It's very hard to find a chicken dish I like... and this is IT!!! This is the real deal for good Mediterranean food. The hummus is fresh and delicious as are the stuffed grape leaves. The Shawarma, served as either gyro or the platter is unbelievably good. Their lunch special is $7.99, you get many choices for a meal, one side and a drink. That's right $7.99! The portions are large, and the produce used is fresh. Been to this nice Madison spot twice. The service is friendly, the food comes out promptly and what comes out is delicious. Beef and lamb schawarma for me. Epic fries my first visit. They were changed to adequate shoestrings the second. We asked them to change back to the original. And they did! Went back to Biladi Grill to see if our previous visits were a fluke. Nope. My Mahi mahi was perfectly grilled and seasoned, served with delicious rice and perfect steamed veggies. My wife's chicken kebabs were likewise perfect. The roasted red pepper babaganoush was smoky and sweet and served with warm pita. As a warm friendly BYOB with a reasonable price point, it cannot be equaled. The waitress is bubbly and full of personality without being at all obtrusive. My friend found this place on yelp and on a whim we decided to try it. It's a very cozy place and on a Wednesday night was not busy. Let me start by commenting on our pleasant waitress Teresa who greeted us and made us feel welcome. Since it was our first time my friends and I shared an appetizer platter with calamari, feta and tomato finger sandwiches, and roasted red pepper hummus. It was a great way to sample the menu and everything was delicious. Our entrees were cooked to perfection. I got a greek salad with grilled, seasoned, plump shrimp, while my friends got a chicken kabob and a rosemary chicken dish. Teresa talked us into getting dessert and we shared a raspberry chocolate lava cake. All the food was extremely fresh and flavorful. If you are a fan of mediterranean food, this place is a must and if you aren't, this is a great place to start. I will be most definitely be coming back. read more

This has been mine favorite Eastern Mediterranean restaurant in the Madison/Chatham/Morristown area, but we haven't been here for a while. Friday night, I tried calling, at 6pm, but was put on hold for a while, so I dropped the call and tried again. When that failed as I kept getting a busy signal, I ordered shish kebab dinners, hummus, and baklava for 6 people through Ubereats - the app said it'll take 45 minutes to arrive - the restaurant called me back almost immediately to ask about sides with our shish kebab orders, and apologized for the issue with the phone call, as their phones were ringing like crazy! Well, at exactly 45 minutes, the Uber driver came to our home with our order in three bags. All ordered food was sent to us - the hot items were still warm, and the food was outstanding. The hummus was perfectly smooth, with olive oil and herbs drizzled over it., and the warm pita was perfect with it. The spinach and feta pie and mediterranean salad were substantial for 6 of us to enjoy. We loved the different shish kebabs which were roasted with wonderful seasonings, and moist. The flavored pilaf rice was delicious, and we had tzatziki sauce and salad dressing for the meat and salad we opted for. The baklava had walnuts and simple syrup(?), and was delish! We all thought the entire meal was made perfectly - not one issue or complaint! We will certainly order again from this restaurant and use Ubereats to pick it up and deliver to our doorstep! read more

Ordered from here for the first time with some of my coworkers for lunch. Everyone's food looked really great and everyone enjoyed their meal. I ordered the Mediterranean panini which was really tasty but it was also the smallest $10 panini I've had in my entire life. They put the toppings in between two small pitas instead of bread and I was left quite hungry after eating it. Small place, decent service and decent food. Nothing was outstanding or terribly bad. Very worthy of a three star description. We got hummus to start and the Mediterranean salad. The salad was a little lack luster and seemed as though they didn't let the veggies soak in the dressing as most places do. Shawarma meat was over cooked and shrimp was over salted. Waiter spilled one of our sauces on the way to our table and I got a few splatters on my arm. Sad to see there wasn't a traditional gyro option too. Ok only sad I didn't try this place earlier. Great lunch deal: for $11.99 you order an entree from a lunch menu with 2 sides and a drink. And the portions are filling! Very delicious. I had the chicken shwarma, cous cous and salad. I loved every bite of it. The chicken was moist and flavorful and came with this great white sauce. The cous cous was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. PLUS they have this really tasty hot sauce that I'm assuming is homemade. 1 year since I wrote my original post, and Biladi is still one of our favorite local restaurants. It is truly a hidden gem, though I can't understand why more people don't know about it. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating, both for dine in and delivery. Delivery service is prompt, food always arrives hot, and the staff taking orders over the phone are easy and pleasant to deal with.
