Been here twice now, and each time was great. The hummus appetizer and the yogurt-sauce appetizer are both very good, served with grilled pita. For entrees I had the shawarma platter with beef & lamb, which was excellent. The seasoning on the meat was some of the best I've had. I also highly recommend the cous cous, which I think they boil with fennel. Fresh and tasty. And don't forget the Turkish coffee. The prices are also fantastic, especially if you get the sandwiches. This wasn't my first time eating at the Biladi Grill, however, it was my first time experiencing their Sunday brunch, simply put it was amazing. As always the food is top notch, the spices and flavors in every dish are exacting, transporting you to the coast of Egypt overlooking the Mediterranean, while in Madison, NJ. The heat today could have been confused with that of Egypt, however, the outside dining area offer ample shade, and the complimentary water is continuous. Today my wife ordered the salmon Benedict, while I had the pesto chicken, in addition to the sampler. I cannot properly articulate just how amazing my wife's dish was, I was very guilty of Envy, until I began to eat the pesto chicken, both meal were spot on. Everything was perfect, however, if you try anything PLEASE make sure it's the humus .... trust me. As it's BYOB, I walked across the street to pick up a small bottle of champagne, the OJ is complimentary!!!!! It's very obvious the food is great, but what sets this place apart is the service. Both Anthony and Sara make you feel like family while there. The casual conversations, the funny stories about happenings throughout the week, make this place feel more like a visit to a family members house for dinner. I got the chicken open style dinner to go. Based on the other reviews I got the fries and the salad. Everything was mixed together in one container on top of each other, which wasn't super appetizing as it was all crammed together. The salad was good, and the fries were above average. The chicken was fatty, it was stringy like meat you buy that has a lot of fat. You rarely see that with chicken. About a third of it I had to throw out, and at these prices, that's a waste of money. I really want to find a good Greek place, I yet to be able to since I moved to the area. I'll have to keep trying. read more

My wife, daughter and I went here for lunch. It was one of the most disappointing meals we have ever had. Worst falafel I have ever eaten. The lamb gyro was terrible - very tough and fatty, but to make it worse, the chicken on my wife's salad was inedible. All 3 courses were awful. My parents were visiting from Egypt and we stopped in for dinner without a reservation after we were turned down at an Italian place down the street. Come to find out the owner is Egyptian as well and even played my dad's favorite music. We had hummus and lentil soup as appetizers. Both delicious!! Then we ordered falafel, a shrimp dish and lamb shanks. Everything what delicious and cooked to perfection. We ended the dinner with traditional Egyptian tea with mind. A true taste of home. Wouldn't come here if you're in a hurry, but if you have time to sit and enjoy some excellent food and great company, this is the place for you. read more

I am only giving it two stars because I online ordered my food. The food was very good, but the delivery took almost TWO HOURS. I was wondering if they were going to deliver my food or not. So, I called them up and the person said that the food would be there any minute when I called them one hour and forty-five minutes later. That was totally ridiculous to have to wait for my food for two hours. I am not going to order from there again because of that experience. I had a much better experience in food being delivered. This is the worst rating I have ever done for any restaurants. For those of you who want your food delivered, do NOT call them to deliver. A smallish store front restaurant, cozy and informal. The appetizers of original and sun dried tomato hummus with warm pita bread was very tasty and had a nice subtle flavor. Main courses were Chicken Schwarma , lamb kabobs and moussaka. The Schwarma was a nice blend of chicken, peppers and onion that was grilled nicely and came with a side of fries that were crispy and flavorful. Lamb was nicely spiced and cook to a perfect medium rare , served with a light and flavorful cous cous. The moussaka was quite large .. The appitizer size was enough for a meal. Flavorful and filling. All around a great place for a change of pace from the standard italian or Chinese fare. Nothing stood out other han the dry lettuce which peeped out from the sandwich :) Overall with very limited middle eastern restaurants close by, this might be a go to place in case I am craving for some kebabs or Shawarma but if given better options I might change my mind. read more

So I ordered a lunch delivery from here. I ordered the lunch sandwich special with the Falafel and a side of the couscous. To begin with, their website says you can online order, which is a lie. I tried numerous times, but somehow I was unable to check out my order. So I decided to still give this place a chance and ordered over the phone. There seemed to be some issues with their phone, as it kept cutting out or the call kept ending, but eventually i was able to reach them. The lunch special included a soda, and what peeves me is that the lady who answers the call also told me that I could order a juice, and made no indication as to the extra charge. In fact, at the end of the call she just took my credit card number but didn't bother to even tell me how much she was charging me nor did she even give me enough time to do so. I actually had to call back to ask about my order. It took about 45-50 minutes for the food to finally come, and when it did, the delivery girl was absolutely frazzled. She was confused as to who's other was what (as my co-worker ordered separately) and was just a mess. Even the way the food was delivered was a mess, with soda spilling everywhere because the "free drink" came in cheap fountain cups. In terms of the food? Nothing special. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because they give large portions and the delivery lady was nice and seemed slightly apologetic when I was annoyed about the breakdown of the bill. But the falafel is pretty dry and could use some more tahini or hot sauce, and the couscous literally tastes like something made from a Near East couscous box. It's safe to say that I probably won't return, especially since there are quite a few places like this in the area. read more

I was unfortunately disappointed with the food I tried from Biladi Grill. The lentil soup seemed to be watered down and didn't have much flavor. The beef and lamb gyro also had a very different flavoring to it that I wasn't a fan of. The chicken kebab sandwich was decent but nothing spectacular. read more
