Discovered this place after dropping stuff off at the UPS store a few doors down. Got the Gyro platter here for about $13, quite a bit higher than the halal carts. However the quality here is higher than the typical halal carts on the street and you feel healthier after eating instead of getting weighed down. Everything is well seasoned, hot and fresh. It's official, I'm addicted to this place. I was introduced to Juicy a bit over a year ago. I totally forgot about it until I was in the area a couple weeks ago and I was in the mood for Mediterranean food. Since Covid, they have the option to make online orders. It was really easy to order my chicken gyro, wings (spicy and lemon pepper), and can't forget my side of sweet plantains. Once my order was submitted it gave me an estimated ready time. Once my order was ready, I was able to collect it from the pick up area and head out all the while social distancing. I decided to write this review after my fourth check in at this place. This is one of the best Mediterranean places you will find in the neighborhood if you are in Harrison. The owner of this place must have thought through well to paint this restaurant with Red (happens to be my favorite color too) as its bright color almost lays out a red carpet invitation to a clean and well maintained place. The cashiers make sure to make the 'Welcome to Juicy' notice just when you are opening the door and they keep a warm smile throughout your time at their restaurant as if it's their second nature. They take the order patiently and offer suggestions when you ask them. The over-the-head banners are simply designed with the various choices they offer. I've always had good regard on restaurants that keep their kitchens open for people to see, as it requires special efforts and confidence to show off that it's neatly maintained. They have some great showpieces at display too. Now coming to the food, I'm a regular to the Falafel rice platter and I get some good top up additions. The order time won't take long and you get it picked right after the wait device buzzes. They have a nice way of arranging the food around in the box. To me, their celebrity folks are the white and hot sauces they offer for you to add indefinitely and adding them to the platter, just makes the taste explode in all directions! Since I see the owner/manager being actively responsive to messages, two tips for you mate- 1. Look towards paper bags as an environment friendly option to shy away from the plastic bags. 2. Look here. This is my all time favorite Halal spot in NJ. They are always fresh, seasoned, tasty and hot coming in. I live Halal places that actually make their hot sauce hot! My friends love Juicy Platters while I'm a Halal Guys fanatic. However today I decided to try Juicy Platters. I got the falafel platter without any toppings. The falafel balls were fried to perfection and fresh. Also, there's a special Juicy Platters seasoning on the falafels that exemplify the flavor and adds a kick of spice. The rice is cooked al dente and has its own unique flavor. While eating any type of platter, it only taste good if you add excessive amounts of white sauce and red sauce, and it was the same situation here. The pita bread was soft and warm. At Halal Guys, I usually add tomatoes, lettuce, onions and bell peppers. But at Juicy Platters, the onions are caramelized. In addition, the portion sizes are perfect. When I went to the location yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak with John, general manager. His hospitality and work ethics are superb. One of the most genuine persons I've met in a very long time and has a strong motive to successfully serve his customers and employees. He spent 20-30 minutes talking to me and asking for feedback. We chatted for a while about the restaurant's goals, customer service, and food quality. We need more people like John in the fast food industry who's sole intention isn't about making money, but ensuring that customers are satisfied and constantly searching areas for improvements. read more

The staff here was very helpful, friendly and attentive to all their guests. It was also nice to see how clean and well kept the restaurant was. Everything was stocked clean and made for a nice dining area. The food itself was tasty. All of the individual ingredients were spot on temperature-wise and the flavors were very enjoyable as well. I was glad I had the opportunity to pick and choose which add ins were in my platter. What was a bit odd were the random components of the add-ons that didn't seem to really go together.Some ingredients seem to have a Mexican fusion were others were definitely more of a Halal feel. We got to add in Hummus, spiced chickpeas (they're no joke spicy), Kalamata olives, and guac and ordered a side of fries. Overall we really enjoyed our selves. Looking at the menu I love how many different options they had. We tried the chicken platter because it's a traditional go to for this location, but they also whip up salad bowls, wraps, pita sandwiches, wings, and a handful of sides like falafel bites, fried plantain, and of course fries! When I visited this spot, there were no lines - the staff here is quick and helpful. They essentially helped me pick out what to put in my bowl and what to avoid based off my taste. The restaurant itself picked up pretty quickly when I walked in there was one person sitting down but by the time I left there was at least 4 couples around. Easy pickup, just go to front attendant, they ask your name & voila! I laaaaave Juicy Platters, the one I've usually gone to was in Fair Lawn that used to be open till like 4am! Unsafe during Covid. There were several red flags which I ignored and put myself in risk. I have ordered from here before. On Saturday, Aug 15 evening, we ordered over the phone. I asked them how long it would take and they said IMMEDIATELY. I reached Juicy Harrison and went in to pick the order. Noticed there were 6 other customers in the store. I skipped the queue where people were ordering food and went to the side for pickup. The guy in the kitchen walked up and asked, why I was there. I told him about the pickup and told him I already paid. He asked me to stand in queue and talk to the lady. Which made no sense since I had already ordered and paid on the phone. Anyways, I did what he said and stood in a line which had NO SOCIAL distancing. Once my turn came, the lady said, it would take my another 5mins. So I had ordered on the phone, rasheed 10mins later, already waited 5mins and then had to wait again. People were huddled up in the waiting area, close to each other for the food. Meanwhile the people who came in the store and ordered got their food too. So ordering in advance had no advantage and they made the salad bowl in front of me. I got the food in a crowded space in the middle of a pandemic. Funny thing, i only saw them make the bowl in front of me. I had ordered a falafel wrap, which I found out to be cold! So after waiting 20mins in a store without social distancing, we got a bowl and a very cold wrap. I originally came here for a Yelp open house event. I tried the mixed gyro + chicken platter with a bunch of toppings. (Now I would never add toppings because each individual item is an extra $.75... So that's for onions or carrots or raisins etc.) It's kind of the same concept as chicken and rice karts in the city...but different style. It's more Mediterranean spices and the spicy red sauce is different. I prefer the city karts but if I can't get there, this will do. Juicy is a fast-food Halal joint that serves beef and chicken platters at a very reasonable price. Their portions are extremely generous and the price is market-friendly. What I love about Juicy! Is that its extremely streamlined. For example, there are multiple ordering kiosks and workers that greet and offer to help assist with the second you walk in the door. Employee's WANT to help! My biggest gripe with this place is that everything is over-salted. I even see them POURING salt on everything. I understand this adds to the taste, but easing on the salt will do a lot of good for this place. A much needed addition to the Harrison area. Loved the idea of Halal food closer to home. The place is sparkling clean and obviously brand new I ordered the half and half platter. Loved that there is a large supply of white and red sauce available so you can carry it to your table without having to ration amongst other customers. However, the tables could be cleaned more regularly and the line to wait at the register is a little narrow and hard to accommodate a large amount of people waiting Food was okay. Pita was soft and the cooked onion accompanying was great. However, the dish in general was too salty and ruined the taste for me - couldn't finish the dish. I don't know why the waitress asked if I need everything and then she enter it as a platter. Glad that I saw what she did and asked her to adjust the order. The snacks ended up to be good with a few falafel balls and a pita bread , with a small humus to try out. The deco is modern.
