Quality Chicken and rice platter (and mixed platter). It's a little cart in a BP parking lot and they seem to be busy even on odd hours so must be good. But DO NOT order through Yelp/Grubhub... they literally have no computer/credit card machine... nothing in the little cart. Overall the service was great, he put extra white sauce like I asked (thank you sir I love that sauce) and put just the right amount of hot sauce. You also can't beat the price, only about $7.50 for a platter and you get sooo much food. We did come a little later in the day so some of the rice was hard and old. Since Halal Guys switched their lamb to beef, it's a treat to find a food truck that serves lamb over rice in NJ. Was craving some shawarma late at night and my friend told me to try this place out. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich and a mixed platter. The sandwich was overfilled and very messy. However I didn't like the chicken at all. Had this weird taste like it wasn't cleaned correctly. The mixed platter was good but I only liked the lamb side. I love lamb gyros but whenever I eat it, it's always salty and never taste good. That is until I ordered here through Uber eats. Omggggg. It's so good, with just the right amount of flavor. It is "NOT HALAL". This place doesn't not follow covid protocols. The guy was sneezing and didn't even have a mask. The food smells like cigarettes. Also I reported this place for false claims. They claim they are halal but are not. When I asked they were quiet and hesitant and lied. If it's halal you say it's halal why have to think about it. I've noticed that more and more halal carts have popped up in this particular corner the last few years, serving up chicken/lamb/whatever else over rice in the style of the famous Halal Guys in 53rd st. Some aren't very good, but others are pretty fantastic. West Side Shawarma is one of those fantastic hidden gems. I usually get the lamb here, extra hot and white sauces. Chicken's pretty good too. Don't get the salad, any self respecting New Yorker knows it just gets in the way of things. Always served with a can of New Jersey's best--C&C cola. Ordered on Uber eats. The pic of their shawarma sandwich looked great. My expectations of the food was set high between yelp reviews and uber photo. When the delivery guy came i was excited to try some new place. As he called tp notify me he had arrived, he didnt understand 14th floor. He kept asking 13 floor, i had to count from 10-14 and said 1 4 (14), 12, 13, 14, 14th floor. To top it off, as hungry as i was, i opened the bag to find the hot sauce container opened and all over the place. I opened the container and it was drenched in white sauce (all 3 dishes). The dish was massive filled with mostly rice. The quality of meat was about par for a poor lonley random food cart on a dark street, top it off it came with extra white sauce as if it needed more. This place is not Ibby's (jersey city or 54th st/6th ave). I'd rate this no stars read more
