The wrap was balanced, not greasy, and the falafel had that perfect crisp-to-fluff ratio. But what really stood out? The person behind the counter. Not sure if he's the owner or just part of a family-run operation, but his energy was magnetic. He checked in with us--and with everyone who came through the door--like we were all regulars. Friendly without being overbearing, helpful without the upsell. He made the food taste even better, if that's possible. This spot has soul. It's the kind of place you return to not just because the food is excellent (it is), but because it feels good to be there. Toward the end of the meal, while other servers were going around asking guests if they wanted a second helping of dessert, we had to flag down a different server because ours never came by. The most frustrating part came at the end. As the restaurant emptied out around us, everyone else was given to-go bags for their leftovers and had their bills brought to them. We received neither. Our server, who had largely ignored us throughout the meal, continued to walk past us without checking in. We ultimately had to wait while the restaurant essentially cleared out around us. We didn't leave until around midnight, after spending roughly half an hour sitting there waiting to be given our bill and leftovers. I really wanted to root for a brown-owned restaurant and hoped this would be a place I could come back to, which made the experience particularly disappointing. I understand that restaurants can have an off night, but being consistently overlooked throughout an expensive dinner--and then essentially forgotten at the end--left a very bad taste in my mouth. The food had to be top tier too we tried their chicken Karahi, gol gappay, mojitos, butter chcicken mix grill and varieties of naan and it all tasted so delicious I even packed 2 bags of takeout for the week! Also they were so kind to give me kitchen access so I can film videos and got a few very nice shots of food/ambiance/and vibes with my camera. The interior is also very well decorated to match the city of Lahore which topped it all off. Honestly this had to be my favorite Pakistani restaurant in all of NJ and I'll definitely be back with more friends and family!!!

Unfortunately, there is something very common in these type of Turkish restaurants and I am surprised not many people mention this. Most of the time the dishes, particularly the mezes are way too salty. The amount of salt they use is too much that it overwhelms the expected flavor of the dish and personally makes my tongue feel swollen. I am not sure if they do this partially on purpose to extend the shelf time as almost all cold mezes are prepared beforehand and not to order. They might be trying to keep the dishes from spoiling for 3 days or so. In any case and whatever the reason is it ruins the flavors for me. I'll try this place one more time then re-review with an update in the coming weeks.
