    Falafel and Hummus Sandwich
    Vivek D.

Ibby's has been around in Jersey City long before most of the high rises were built in and around Grove St. Famous for their falafels, I ordered a falafel & hummus sandwich to enjoy for a quick lunch. Honestly a sandwich is more than plenty here. At around $7.50 or so, you also can't go wrong. Maybe not the best falafels around, but certainly one that can fill you up at an affordable price point.

Ibby's, Ibby's, Ibby's...man I love this place. Located right on Grove, it's a go to reliable Halal food place in the area. I've never eaten inside the restaurant, as it's relatively small and packed. However, I do frequently do carry out. The service is top notch and they always have everything freshly packed for me when I come to pick it up. I also go with the lamb shawarma platter. The lamb is cooked and seasoned so well! It comes with rice, pita, and a salad. They also always give tahini and the spiciest red sauce! Overall, a solid neighborhood place for when I'm craving Halal food and a good shawarma!

My friend recommended the falafel sandwiches from Ibby's, and after trying one today I understand why. I especially loved their hot sauce. I have a pretty high spice tolerance and this sauce was actually spicy and super flavorful. Service was really quick, and the staff were nice. There is some seating inside, but while we sat there we noticed a lot of people taking food to go so that seems like the vibe. I would come here again!

This is my first time here. The chicken Shawarma sandwich was good not the best I've ever had but decent. The owners and staff were all very nice. I recommend giving them a try.

Ugh. For the prices that they charge I expected the meal to be more filling. I got the combo platter with falafel and chicken shawarma. Not enough meat, tiny falafel balls, measly salad. The grape leaves, hummus, and babaganouj were fine. The fries were pre-frozen and seasoned with some pepper to make them seem homemade. Sigh. Delivery came in 20 min.

Best falafel in JC. I've been coming here for over 15 years and alway a great falafel, never disappoints! The Jordon platter is awesome, you get your money's worth. Also you must order the mint lemonade so refreshing.

Falafel over Falafel & Rice Platter

I was craving falafel so I was excited about this because it's supposed to be famous but unfortunately it fell so short. The falafel is bland and just tastes like salt? The pita tastes like nothing and the rice reminds me of that minute microwave rice and it was super salty. Even the sauce is bland???? I'm so disappointed I've had better falafel and rice from a food truck. Maybe it was an off night?? The mint lemonade was good

A friend of mine recommended this place. We got the Chicken Shawarma Platter, Lamb Shawarma, extra pita, extra garlic sauce to take home and some Mint Lemonade to beat the heat. The Mint Lemonade was really good. The garlic sauce was pretty 'authentic'. The rest of the food was decent, but not as amazing as I thought it would be. Service was really good though.

The restaurant has an interesting history. Even though the original opened in Cresskill, NJ, it unfortunately has permanently closed. However, not only is the Edgewater location amazing, but it had the guts to open during COVID (2022), survived, and is succeeding. The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. Their decorations are tasteful, the presentation of the food is award winning, and the service is stellar. I started with a Mocha Cappuccino and it was so good. Served in a large mug, an airy/creamy top, and had the perfect amount of mocha happiness throughout. Before the meal even started, we were graciously given Za'atar (a popular Middle Eastern spice blend with an earthy, tangy, and nutty flavor, toasted sesame seeds, and sumac, with salt). It was crunchy, drizzled with oil, and I enjoyed how each thin pita bite made the spices explode all over the table. The entrees were: Strawberry French Toast. The next was the Falafel Platter (chickpeas and fava bean balls, served with tahini sauce, pickles, turnips, tomato, and mint). The last selection was the Avocado Toast (Citrus cured salmon over multigrain bread, tomatoes, onions, capers & citrus vinaigrette). Not only were all of these dishes beautifully presented, but all were filling, as well. My Avocado Toast kept me full for the rest of the day and the salmon was enjoyably salty, thin, and delicious. I noticed a dessert in their display case and ordered it. The dessert was the Riz Bil Ashta (Lebanese rice cream, infused with orange blossom water, blended with milk and cheese, and topped with crushed pistachios). This dessert tasted like a regal custard and the pistachios added an enjoyable texture that makes it recommended. Of course, I had to cap the meal with a Mocchiato. This amazing beverage followed the rest of the meal..... delicious, eyes closed good, and every sip was full-flavored. Thank you, Madison Café and Grill, for presenting a memorable meal and I wish you continued success.

I am not sure on the packages they offer for a planned party, but you can call to ask. I had a conversation with the owner who seemed very nice and hospitable. All the staff were very accommodating also. The food situation was a little odd. They bring out a buffet style self serve **first come, first serve**. Fixed price for appetizers and entree. This place is a bit pricier than similar nearby Beirut lounge, but the venue is larger and the experience offers a bit more, accordingly. I found the staff to be pretty on-the-ball and friendly. Large venue. Hookah is extra, as is pretty standard at these type of events. They do serve alcohol and you can order drinks at the bar if you choose. It's a bit of an odd setup, being so close to the hotel. I parked in the back, where the valet instructed me to (I opted not to do valet), but I did see people parking right in front of the place. Fun time though, and great overall experience, again, similar to Beirut, something hard to find even in NYC and surrounding areas. If you're looking for a uniquely Arab/Middle Eastern type of party, this is your place. Location is pretty convenient as well if you're coming from NY, as it's only a few miles from the Lincoln Tunnel and also pretty close to the GW Bridge (but closest to the Lincoln Tunnel)
