The perfect Williamsburg dive to visit on a weekday at 3pm. Stopped in after a Easter Monday lunch at Mabel's Smokehouse and loved the old-school energy. It's a proper watering hole with 8 TVs and plenty of locals enjoying the afternoon. Classic Brooklyn bar ambiance and prompt service. The drinks are reasonably priced and the $10 Guinness is poured right. If you're looking for a neighborhood spot with no fuss and a good time, this is it. read more

Always a great place to pop in for a drink or few and catch some games. Pretty unpretentious and laid back. Got a few games as well

Solid divey joint - go in to grab a few cheap drinks (cash only) and hang with friends. Sometimes I've seen it empty, other times it's packed, so seems hit or miss there, but have typically been able to find a spot for 2 while there. read more

Dive bars near the Warsaw? Turkey's Nest! I didn't make it past the third bar stool. we chatted up our bar neighbor and she was good at offering other options in the area. She even got the very busy bartender in on the conversation. Super friendly people here. Frozen strawberry margarita machine where I can add any liquor and get it in an old school lemonade cup? YES PLEASE! That's what I did and I was so stupid... I ordered one and drank it there. I should have ordered another for the road! It was tasty. Don't be like me- take one for the road. read more

Turkey's Nest Tavern - Make it your way slushie - Dive Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Where Bedford hums and Berry meets the breeze, A faded tavern keeps its stubborn charm. No craft-cocktail parade nor velvet seats; Just neon hums and plastic cups in arms. Beloved dive where time forgets to move, Where locals toast and strangers learn to stay. Raise one good glass to Brooklyn's beating heart, For Turkey's Nest still holds the old-school way. read more

It was interesting. Not coming back. The bartender was crazy lowkey made me buy 2 drinks. I came to play pool not pay for a nasty attitude from big mama (she was chopped). read more

Cash only dive bar with great drink specials. The bar tender was friendly and my whiskey/coke was strong.

Great vibe and great bartenders. Neighborhood staple. Love the door guy Jimmy. Friendly people! read more

If you want to get drunk for cheap, this is a place to go. There are many different flavors of slushies which cover up the flavor of the very heavy pour of rum. Make sure to mix it though or else it will go from being super sweet to super alcohol tasting. Also make sure to bring cash or use the ATM outside. read more

Turkey's Nest Tavern - Strawberry daiquiri slushie - Dive Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

This place is pretty damn divey but that's why you come here. Nothing more, nothing less as divey as it gets. This is a great place to pre-game for affordable drinks before going out to one of the dance clubs around Williamsburg/Greenpoint. And if you want to watch some sports, that works too. Small place, pool table, divey bathroom. Nothing more to it! read more

It's one of these parts' most unassuming bars. I was looking for a turkey theme but could not find it. The bar looks like it's been around awhile, not one of the ones that have recently cropped up. It has relatively cheap beer. That comes in styrofoam cups. I ordered a Brooklyn Brewery Lager. It's $6 for a 32 ounce, which is not terrible for a craft beer. This is one of that brewery's best beers, and it's good to get it here if you don't feel like messing with the brewery and the tourists. I was confused the first time I ordered beer. I was handed a styrofoam cup. Maybe they had my order wrong and thought I wanted pop? It was right though, it was beer. They put beer in styrofoam cups. In a way, that's awesome. You can take it out with you and the cops think you're drinking pop. It's an interesting concept. It also is a lot of beer for your money. The environment may not like it though. read more

Turkey's Nest Tavern - Brooklyn Lager In A Cup - Dive Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

The service here was disappointing. I got the "we don't serve your kind" sort of treatment here. Perhaps I should have known better before walking in? Latino queer male here - the bartender was rude, dismissive, and didn't seem to know I existed for a long time, despite sitting front and center in the bar. There were a few other patrons who came in and the greeting, treatment and reception was different, markedly. When I came and went from the bathroom things would quiet and the stares and silence would permeate the room. I regret giving them any of my money - it's surprising to have a place like this thrive smack in the middle of bustling Williamsburg. I'll tell everyone I know to avoid this place. And I don't do so easily, but it was really bad and a shame. read more

Turkey's Nest Tavern - Dive Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

This is perhaps the best dive in Billville. It's cheap. It's got character. It's got characters. It's even quite festive thanks to some tasteful Christmas lights thrown up for the season. And I think I mentioned this, but it's worth saying again: it's cheap. They will hand you entirely too much alcohol for entirely too little money. And they don't care what you do after that transaction takes place (go drink in the park for all they care), because The Nest is also tolerant. So if your drunken idiot friends have already been thrown out of a restaurant for violently expressing their love for one another,* the Turkey's Nest is the only logical choice. Because they've seen worse. The decrepit pool table may sport three 12 balls, but that just means the bartender barely blinks when some asshole spills an entire beer on the felt. If an argument ensues about whose fault the spill was and a playful humping/eye-gouging occurs as a result, the rest of the crowd won't even notice. I for one am just glad that long ago they decided to serve drinks in plastic or styrofoam, which lessens the chances of broken glass/bleeding. And it's always easier to have a good time without broken glass. _____________ *I'm assuming I'm not the only one this happens to. read more

Turkey's Nest Tavern - Entirely too many 12 balls. - Dive Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Very poor customer service when I first entered with my sister and her friend we were not greeted at all. (We are Afro Latinos ) we purchased 3 drinks and played pool. This is my first time here so I went to ask if they sell food, as I approached the bartender he turned his back so I said "hello" which he ignored me, so I said "hello how r u doing" he continued to ignore. So I walked away, as I walked away he turned around and ask if I was talking to him (there is no one else in this bar except me my sister and her friend) I commented on how rude his customer service was. So he said he didn't hear me. Mind you we are the only three people in the entire bar. read more

Love the name. Nice location that's a little ways away from the craziness of Bedford Ave. It's open early and late. So of course I had a few hours to kill on a Monday afternoon so why night day drink at the Turkey's Nest? Deal. Pints of Brooklyn Lager were $6 apiece--an OK deal. I was offered a 32oz. pour in a paper cup for $12, but didn't see the point. Later on, it dawned on me that the paper cups are for when you might just step outside and walk off into the night, or hop in an Uber, sippin' on a beer in a Coke cup. I guess that's cool that they don't really give an eff, but that seems to be the general vibe of NYC--you can do whatever you want whenever you want so long as you aren't messing with anyone else's vibes. And the vibes at Turkey's Nest are pretty chill, if not a little bit racy. read more

It's lit A bit grimy, but great place to socialize and watch ball. NBA all-star weekend was a blast! The drink selection is sparse, but affordable. Don't bother with the beer or liquor, just go straight for the frozen margaritas because they're surprisingly good and hella boozy. Like everything else, it comes in styrofoam cups. Yes, that's ratchet and wasteful, but at least it's incredibly convenient for all parties (to-go cups, anyone? lol). I would gladly stumble outta here any time. read more

Offering drinks to go in styrofoam cups is either the best or worst idea ever. My friends and I came to Turkey's Nest as a first stop for a night out in Williamsburg. We picked up some redbull vodkas, and it all went downhill from there. We had pregamed before coming to this bar, so we were far from sober. And these large 32oz styrofoam cups contained far more vodka than redbull. And at less than $20 for 3 of them, we should have known we were in trouble. We had a few more drinks while enjoying the music and company. It was surprisingly not packed, considering it was a Saturday night and how cheap the place is. We each picked up a strong 32oz margarita before leaving. And the bartender went ahead and gave them to us with lids and straws already included. Those margaritas did us no favors, as we barely remember the rest of the night after finishing them. read more

Great Local Dive Bar We found this local gem while bar hopping through Brooklyn. The bar is known for giant drinks and beers (32 ounces). Sadly we missed the place before the styrofoam cup ban. We talked to several locals and everyone just started buying everyone else drinks. By the time we looked up, we were drunk and it had been 3 hours. The place has a crowd of characters and it all adds to the atmosphere. We had a great time. We'll definitely be back when we roll through town next month. Thanks read more

Nothing says "FUCK YEA" like a 32 oz To-Go cup of cold, tap Budweiser for $3.50. The place gets crowded, especially during spring and summer, but the wait is never long. Buy your bargain take-out beer and enjoy it in the park across the street. THIS PLACE IS DOG FRIENDLY read more

I mean what can I say about this place without being biased. I've been coming to Turkey's Nest since 2012 and it's always been a great time. It is your typical dive bar, dirty, stickers everywhere, a jukebox and pool table. The drinks are strong and cheap, but don't forget to bring cash! It's a cash only bar. read more

Don't let the name fool you. This place is for 45+ year olds that don't go to bars for fun.

This is the favorite haunt of one of my best friends. Heck, I'd say it was his second home if he spent any time at home. It's a dive bar. And as dive bars go it's pretty freaking comfy. Good people of all different ages, backgrounds, climates, and climbs. And that is the Dive. Come here and feel welcome. read more

During covid I know parties should be patient, however that is not the case. From providing our IDs (the checker didn't know if he should let anyone else in and looked at the owner who eventually decided it was okay after ten whole minutes and a ridiculous amount of speculation) to ordering drinks. Their atm wasn't working and after multiple people's attempts they continued to serve parties even though many atms were out of service and patrons had to leave and go to other atms, blocks away. Upon receiving our drinks the bartender came over to us and said "alright now you need to move" (mind you we JUST got our drinks 30 seconds prior). I have been to countless places over the years and this is without a doubt the most offensive and horrible service I have ever received - from beginning to end. Period. Yes it could look fun from the outside but the service is absolute garbage and offensive by the way the staff talks to you. I hope you don't go and if you do I hope you're beyond trashed and don't know the difference :) read more

Dive bar that smells most like a drunk relative: Turkey's Nest Tavern. It's the same scent that wafts into your family's home when your uncle arrives on Thanksgiving afternoon and demands to shake your hand with a kung fu grip for at least two minutes. Now your hand smells like cigarettes and stetson for the rest of the day. Thanks! **See featured picture** That's definitely someone's uncle outside having a smoke. He's to blame for the smell. The Nest also wins the award for stickiest bar in Brooklyn. I've never heard of a dive that specializes in margaritas. The margarita slushy is filled to the brim, dripping off the sides, sticking to your hands like maple tree sap. It's a great deal, but it could easily contribute to hangover hell, especially if you get the Gargoyle, but don't do that. The only people that will actually enjoy the Gargoyle are your Italian friends that brag about drinking Sambuca with their family or people that think that Absinthe is "cool." Don't bring a girl here, unless you hate them or you are under the age of 24. That should be the cut off age for entering this place, until you reach the age of 50. At that time, if you are low on cash from your gambling debt and want to nurse your third divorce with a ice cold Budweiser, you may enter again. The owners of the Nest are smart. They are capitalizing on the to-go beverage market and making bank. Walking the street with a brown bag isn't obvious enough, so instead you should come to the Nest and fill up a herculean styrofoam cup with booze and hit the road. read more

McCarren Park is covered in Styrofoam cups at all times. Turkey's Nest is to blame. Turkey's Nest is an environmentalist's worst nightmare and a beer lovers best friend. If you're like me and you love both beer and the environment, you'll have to get as drunk as I do to feel good about yourself again. With a 32 oz. beer costing you 4 bucks, this won't be hard to do. Turkey's is probably one of the most bizarre places that I've been to in Brooklyn. On one side of the bar you have hipsters drinking $2.00 cans of PBR. On the other side, you have groups of old men with gray hair and walkers not even trying to hit on said hipsters. If this doesn't sound like your cup of tea, you can take your drink to-go and hang out in the Park. It's a win-win for everyone. Turkey's doesn't serve food, but they're totally cool with you bringing outside food in or getting food delivered. Plus, there's a jukebox, a pool table, dive-bar quality bathrooms, and BUCK HUNTER. Count me in. read more

Please don't let this Turkette in here on weekdays. One beer turns into two, which turns into three, which turns into one more over a game of pool, which turns into a fifth "so we can get to know this person" and a cab ride home. Which in turn leads to me accomplishing even less at work. Fortunately the PBRs will only run you $2.25... read more

Nothing says spring is here like Margarita's in a to-go cup to take to McCarren park. Yep, I do love the Turkey's Nest. It's true, they aren't very environmentally conscious with the styrofoam cups. Fucking legit. Once I had 1.5 cocktails and puked in the bathroom. Sometimes I have 2 cocktails and blackout. I'm pretty sure they must put roofies in the drinks. I've since made a resolution to drink only beer here, but sometimes a $3 kettle one cocktail is too much to resist. I work about 100 yds from this place, so you could call me a regular.
