5/24/2014 I had a bad experience with this company. The…read moreowner came and estimated the work for a sprinkler system. He quoted a 5 zones, 20 heads, 2 valve boxes. The price is reasonable and competitive...However, after the work done, I found out that they installed 16 heads, 4 zones. Worst thing is that they put 9 heads to a single valve. I called the next day and they tried to give me information which is completely false (water pressure would blow up the heads if installed less). I had a system there before and had 4 heads on a single valve and it worked normally. This is an insult. Secondly, I also found out that some of the hoses were not buried properly. The line is just right on the surface and was hidden by a thin coat of soil. After my call they came and tried to fix it by installing more heads and another valve box as stated in the quotation. The heads did not get positioned properly and stable. In my opinion and expectation, the work should be done right the first time and as stated in the contract. By the way, the invoice come right away. In summary, I would not recommend this company. Update: It took 3 tries and more than a month (should be 1 or 2 day job) of frustrations, they fix (?) what I requested. I put a question mark here since only time will tell, especially after the winter. It is true that one of the exposed line comes from the old installation, but they should have removed it also. I personally cut that off and put more soil around the heads, replace the opening from #2 to 4 to make the heads stable and spray where they should.

My concerns mirror some of the other concerns expressed in negative ratings (which, for some…read morereason, are treated as untrustworthy and thus hidden). I hired Gervais Lawn Care last fall to do some cleanup and plantings for me. The cleanup was reasonably done. The plantings, however, have caused me some concern. First, the plantings were not started until some time after we originally agreed. Brian Gervais assured me, by phone, that it would be fine. Second, because he started so late, the plantings that had been agreed to had to be adjusted, because some of the ones originally proposed were no longer available. Worst of all, come spring, many of the plantings did not survive. Specifically, not a single one of the ornamental grasses that were planted survived. (The viburnum are doing well, though.) Unfortunately, I agreed that the plants would only be guaranteed for 30 days after planting, so Gervais Lawn Care has no legal responsibility. (My own fault.) However, if every single ornamental grass did not come back, I'd think a responsible contractor would feel some moral responsibility. Anyway, I'm out the cost of those grasses (including the cost of planting them), and I will have to replace them.

During the install a the drain hose split/ cracked on the male fitting. The system worked like it should but during the self cleaning process the water sprayed out through the crack in the drain line and I don't want to say flooded my basement, but got a lot of things wet. Some of our rugs needed cleaning and baseboards needed replacement. Here in the Storey is where the review gets good. I called the rep (Joel) that installed the unit. He came back the next day and fixed the cracked hose. I called Servpro to ensure the water got cleaned up and the basement got dried properly. Tom Frank (service manger) from Aqualite contacted me the next day to facilitate the payment to Servpro, getting the rugs professionally cleaned, reimburse the down payment for Servpro and reinstall of the baseboards. The experience by far went from the worst to the best experience I've had with a company. The review would have been 5 stars if it wasn't far the water in my basement. And to be honest I probably wouldn't have wrote a review at all if this didn't happen. This system was not cheap so I can with confidence that if anything goes wrong with the system now. I know Tom and his team will fix the issue in a timely manner and with highest care for customer satisfaction. Also, I wasn't A Hole during this whole process either so that probably helped too. The water softener they installed doesn't work at all--my water is still yellow, disgusting, and damaging everything it touches. Despite repeated calls for help, nothing has been fixed. The system is a total waste of money. To make things worse, the owner, Riely, is impossible to reach. He never answers the phone and is supposedly "always in meetings." That's not how you run a business--especially when customers are dealing with something as essential as water quality. Save yourself the frustration.
