They are way too loud and use industrial leaf blowers constantly. It's so disturbing. Blowing dirt around for hours.

Unique situation that Marty took care of. Last year (2023) Marty and his team did my lawn with irrigation. Unfortunately Mother Nature wasn't on my side as it downpour rained for ~two weeks after installation. That rain caused the lawn to be washed out and after a year of patience it wasn't getting better. Start of the (2024) season, I called Marty very disgruntled over my investment last year, explaining that I wasn't pleased with my investment and that I wanted to cancel further work we had scheduled. To my surprise, within 48 hours he had his team back on my property redoing my entire lawn. I'm sure he wasn't pleased with me calling almost a year later but being the class act he was, you wouldn't know it. Attached are few pictures from late April 2024 (labeled before) and then May of 2024 (just weeks after the second round on my yard). - Still a long way to go but couldn't recommend Marty enough, especially considering how easy it could have been to just ghosted me. read more

Wow! I highly recommend Marty's Landscaping for Fall cleanup. It is my first year using their service and I am sold. I will continue using Marty's every fall- specifically for vacuuming a big pile of leaves. Key notables below. Ease of setting up an appointment: 10/10 Someone at the office was always available for my call! There were so many businesses where I make a call and it goes to the voice mail without any response! Sheila at the office was super accommodating. Given the windy day today and more wind picking up in the forecast, I didn't want my pile by the driveway to just sit and risk much work to be undone over the next few days. Sheila gave a quick call to Marty to check if his crew already out on another job can squeeze in this job. Promptly, I received confirmation for green light. The crew came in the next hour. Prices: 10/10 Reasonable. Not 100% sure what is the going rate as the vacuum job for leaves pile can vary quite a lot business to business. It appears they are all expensive?! But, I thought for the size of the pile, it was a reasonable price. Marty came earlier to check the size of the pile (I had told Sheila I won't be available with meetings all day but asked if Marty can stop by) and without bothering me, quietly stopped by, surveyed the pile, and gave estimate to Sheila. Received an estimate by email. Work, post-job cleanup: 10/10 Great job by the 2 men crew. They went about their business and were done in 45-50 min. What was spectacular was the post-job cleanup work! They did a fantastic job making sure the surrounding area of the pile was clean. They vacuumed and blowed leaves in all nearby areas including blowing a nearby standing dusty car from the work. Thank you. read more

Was looking for help getting our lawn back after some patio work - used Marty's for topsoil and hydroseeding. We watered twice a day for months but the grass wasn't coming in evenly. Called for help and they came back to overseed and fertilize. Continued to water regularly but still the grass wasn't coming in evenly, lost of bald spots. Called back and they asked for pictures rather than coming out to have a look. Sent pictures, and now they aren't responding. Bad service, no accountability. read more

I live in a neighborhood where someone uses Marty's and honestly have to say if you have any consideration for your next door neighbors please hire a different company. On multiple occasions the cops have been called on the Marty's crew for breaking the noise ordinance. In Lowell the earliest time that anyone can use loud power tools in a residental area is 7am yet it was 6:45 when they started this morning. Imagine just getting a newborn to sleep only to have a total of 7 yes 7 leaf blowers going. I get the days are shorter but the law is the law. When I went to speak with the crew they gave attitude and didn't even care that I threatened to call the police. They just laughed and said by the time the cops came it would be after 7am. This is the most inconsiderate, rude and pompous company I have ever dealt with. They should honestly be shut down for being a perpetual law breaker. We had the owner of the company come to our house for an evaluation on what to do to grow good grass. He recommended to spread the turf and then seed. took a while to get the results, but all we got was a lot of different weeds that we had to keep pulling and finally the whole lawn was just weeds and spots. We called the company several times and left messages for the owner, and we never got a call back from anyone. Very disappointed in the company lack of response, they took our money and left us with weeds and no responsibility for doing poor quality work and recommendation. Did you know that Mary's team does construction? We hired Marty's to remodel a commercial space for us. Roberto who heads up the construction was one of the nicest and most professional people I have ever met. They were there when they said they would be and they worked, and worked and worked. We would pop in often and they were always working. When changes popped up, they were very willing to work with us. On the last day, when they were finishing up the project, we were told some additional changes needed to be done to the floors in the storage area. Marty was good to work with, attentive and fast, however I can't say the same for his staff. I hired them to blow leaves from under my deck and I didn't know when they were coming but I awoke to an industrial leaf vacuum at 7am which is fine but it was pretty awful they didn't at least let me know they were starting so I could move my convertible or at least put the top up. I came outside to a car caked in dirt and mud, on top of paying full price for a mediocre job, I paid another 100 for a car detail. When I told Marty about it, he didn't validate my concerns or even give me the idea he was going to chew someone's ass for their stupidity. Needing someone to pick up the brush left from the nasty October snow, I called several tree services, and Marty's was one of the few who called back. We discussed the price and then as an aside, I asked about fees for fall cleanup and gutter cleaning. His quote was a lot less than the other service we have used, so it was a go. As promised, Marty's picked up the brush on Wednesday, and today, came with several types of equipment (a huge vacuum, a mower that mulches, a little backhoe that pushes the leaves to another truck, and assorted leaf blowers) as well as 6 guys to do the work. They removed every leaf, mowed, and cleaned my acre, and cleaned the gutters. All this in an hour, while Mr K sat with his coffee mug on the front steps and supervised. They quoted us a price for power washing in the fall, and we'll get another bid from someone who has previously done that for us to see who gets the job. Marty's business thrives on word of mouth and on the advertising on his many trucks around town. There's no website. Worth a call to get a bid. Professional and pleasant and did a great job. Removing leaves in an hour, cleaning the gutter, and hosing down the house while Mr K watched = priceless. read more

I will look for another landscaper in the future. They did the work as scheduled and worked hard to get the job done. However, I had several issues with a large yard job, and needed to redo some of the work myself. I pointed out the problems and I met resistance so I decided it was easier to just redo the work myself. As part of the job several shrubs and plants needed to be moved. I offered to move them prior to Marty's starting, but was told to not worry that they would take care of it. Well, they hacked out one shrub leaving only about 6 inches of root. At that time I told them to leave the remaining plants and shrubs alone and I would take care of them. All the plants I moved are alive and well, while the one Marty's hacked out is dead. I tried to keep it alive watering it profusely, but to no avail. I would expect a professional to do a better job. Maybe they just didn't care. I asked that they replace the shrub they killed and was given a we don't guarantee transplants speech. I understand things die, but the way they hacked that shrub it really did not have a chance. No wonder they don't guarantee things they transplant. When dealing with contractors things are not always smooth and how they deal with issues is a true indicator of who they are. For me I will look for someone else to do business with in the future. read more

Are these people complete idiots ?? YES they are !! Sorry but I came into work today and parked as normal only to have someone come running into my office telling me to move my car right away !!! They told me a bunch of yahoos were "cleaning" the parking lot. I go out there and sure enough they are sandblasting all the cars in the lot. Driving the bobcat like they are in a bumper car ring just tossing dirt into the air. Another one is going between the cars with a 200mph blower blasting the sides of every car out there. All the cars completely covered in dirt. A LITTLE common sense should have told them to delay the job until after 5pm when the lot is empty or wait until the weekend but no they wait until the lot is full????????? I will be sending them at least the entire car detailing bill if not a bill for a new paint job!! I will be encouraging everyone else to do the same. This job will be a loss for them when it's over. I hope they learn a lesson but something tells me they wont. read more

We tried using Marty's Landscaping services in 2016, but by the time they came to clean up our yard, the flowers were out in the various gardens. The workers just threw mulch everywhere instead of working it into the gardens. We complained with a letter and we received no response. The next year (2017) we decided to give them another try with an earlier date to avoid all the blooming flowers. The price was decent and the date was set. The crew showed up at 6:30 PM with about 1.5 hours left of any daylight. They assured me they could do the job. By the time they finished around 8:30 PM, it was pitch black and they were using flashlights to throw the mulch into the garden beds. The edging for the garden beds was done in the waning light and it looked like a child had hacked it instead of a "professional". Again, I wrote a complaint letter. The only response that I got was a little money off the total cost. No offer to finish the job properly. No apologies. I recommend NOT using this company unless you want to ride herd on them. read more

As people who have always done our own yard work, we were at first a little reluctant to seek outside help. Over the winter we had to have some trees removed and this left us with an eyesore on our lot-line where it abuts a town right of way. Marty's Landscaping is s joke. These people do not listen to what you tell them and do what they want. Marty, is a rude, unprofessional, wise guy who thinks his company is the best & his work is above the rest. His guys destroyed my flowers (that I paid for myself & planted myself so that the area in front of my unit would look decent with some flowers even though I pay an HOA fee for this service )which I saw them do on 2 different occasions by weed whacking the grass by the flowers & cutting off the tops of the flowers. Marty denied that his guys did this & said the deer ate it, I said they must be smart deer to eat the flowers in a straight cut. After realizing his guys did cut the flowers, he made some promises he never meant to keep. His guys had also broken a small flag I had with the flowers & another flag was totally missing. He promised new flags & was going to replace the cut flowers and would maybe put a small fence up so no one goes close to the flowers. Well long story short this was months ago, and after not seeing any new flowers planted, because the next day he gave a bag of flags to our Supervisor & told him that Marty said he was sorry his guys cut my flowers. So so this Monday that just passed, August 27,2017: Monday I stopped in our onsite office, some to Brian if he heard anything from Marty & he said Marty told him that he planted new flowers. I told Brian that he is a liar because the flowers that are there are mine that are growing because his guys have not weed whacked them in weeks. I called Marty on a Thursday and he showed up that evening and gave me a fair estimate. His crew came on Monday to mulch, install a new shrubs in the front of my house and prune a magnolia tree that had been damaged in the ice storms. The crew did a tremendous job! Marty's Landscaping has horrible practices. My neighbor uses their services and they disrupt the entire neighborhood. I sleep in a little late because of my job. But when they arrive before 8:00 am and start running their 5 leaf blowers at once, it is an unbearable noise level. Then they blow the leaves in the street that go into other people's yards including mine. I just had my driveway cleared and Marty's crew came and blew all the leaves in the street which ended up in my driveway. Today, they blocked a school bus and a few cars because they park their big truck and spread their equipment all over the street so noone can get by. My mother has cancer now and is sick and needs her sleep in the morning, but now she has to be woken up by the 5+ leaf blowers going all at once. Just so they can make a quick buck. The yard is not that big! One leaf blower could do the work! And in the summertime its 5 lawnmowers.They drive me crazy!!!!! I HATE THEM and their lack of courtesy. Another neighbor used them to maintain her gardens once and they are so stupid they dug up all her herbs. WHY does anyone use them. Please think twice. Your neighbors will appreciate it. read more
