I heard about this place through a friend. I was surprised to see that Tummy Stuffer is hidden around the industrial area of Iowa Ave/Columbia Ave. I always drive on that street leaving school, and I never bothered to look in that area until now. Their sandwiches look like banh mi. I ordered an 8" #62, which is the Roast Beef, Avocado, and Mushrooms. I also asked for mayonnaise, diced tomatoes, and diced onions inside. The sandwich cost me about $5, which is a bit cheaper than Subway considering it's an 8". The sandwich was pretty decent. I really liked the flavor that the onions brought to it. I never tried eating mushrooms in a sandwich, but it added a nice touch. Other than that, the sandwich didn't bring me any fireworks, but then again they have many other special sandwiches that I have to try. I'd go here again, but I'd rather choose sandwiches that have the STARS next to their names on the menus. Those are their special sandwiches. read more

You need to visit Tummy Stuffer. It's just...look, I won't even attempt to describe how wonderful Tummy Stuffer sandwiches are. Nothing I write will ever do this place justice. It's one of the redeeming things about Riverside, really. I've moved from Riverside, but I catch myself fantasizing about Tummy Stuffer every so often. I just can't quit you, Tummy Stuffer! This place was a MEH. It is kinda hidden and I suppose if you work nearby it's a gem. Some coworkers and I went based on Yelp reviews but we definitely won't be going back unless we are in the area and can't drive off (highly unlikely lol). I got the meatball sub and it was MEH. Looks are deceiving. Tummy Stuffer is located in a industrial strip mall close to UC Riverside. Simply driving by, you'd never know that this place serves delicious sandwiches on the most amazing bread. I haven't had such soft and textures bread since I was last in New Orleans having a fried shrimp po' boy. Today I had the roast beef with cheese loaded with the works! I've been having sandwiches here since the mid 90's. Sandwiches are big and delicious. I usually get The Monster sandwich here. Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, Bacon, Avocado, and Swiss. Can't go wrong with that, right? It's a really good sandwich packed with a lot of fresh ingredients(bread tastes like it was recently baked) for only $7. I'd definitely reccomend it if you're hungry. They also have $5 footlong options for those who may be interested as well. Good luck trying to get a sandwich during the lunch rush though, there's always a bunch of UCR students and people from around the business complex getting lunch here. It can really get packed sometimes. One cool thing that I've seen them do with their sandwiches is that they don't cut the bread all of the way through. They leave a little bit of space at both ends of the roll, so nothing falls off. It's a brilliant idea and I'm surprised that most sandwich places haven't stolen that idea yet. My only vice with this place is that the meat portions have dropped in recent days. You definitely don't get as much meat as you used to anymore. The sandwiches are still good here and the portions are still above average, but it's hard not to notice when you've been going here as long as I have. Those who haven't been eating here as much as I have will probably never notice or care, but if you haven't been here in a while, fair warning. read more

Just a couple recommendtions. I like the squaw bread and order the small roast beef, avocado and cheese (ask for the pepper jack), everything on it. The salads are pretty good too but who orders a salad when there are so many sandwiches to choose from. The chicken salad has a bit of curry flavor that I don't like but some might. $1.75 for a refillable drink and a side to 'combo' the sandwich. Stick with the chips. There's a good variety and the potato and macaroni salad are straight from a plastic bucket. Not good sides at all unless you are a big mayo fan. read more

I'm just visiting socal and I'm so glad to have found this gem. This place has the best sandwiches I've tasted in a very long time! Our kids love the meatball and pastrami sandwich. My wife had the turkey, avocado, and bacon, and I also had pastrami. Awesomely delicious!!!!!! We also had the chicken teriyaki plate. Don't sleep on this hidden gem. Honestly, I've coming here for years and it never disappoints. It is easily my favorite sandwich shop. 101 sandwiches? sounds promising I was told of this little sandwich spot by a coworker and on my Monday off i decided to stop by. I had to stop by on my off Monday cuz this place must be making enuf dinero that they are only open in this industrial strip mall Mon-Fri 9a-4p. Who the hell still gets by on banker's hours? no weekends? no spot for late night grub once a week or so? You are less than a few blocks away from the UCR dorms and you don't wanna take these college kids' money? Fine owners.....if sleep, rest, quality time with your family is more important than money, so be it. Oh well. Another beef i have- The whole 101 sandwiches thing? They have "101 sandwiches" on the menu, but it is more like 1. Turkey 2. Turkey and Cheese 3. Turkey and Swiss (did Swiss cheese stop being "cheese" and i missed the memo?) 4. Similarly - Roast Beef and Pepper Cheese (ditto above) i guess Turkey doesn't warrant Pepper Cheese as an option. You can choose between French/Wheat rolls, rye, sourdough and squaw breads. I normally go for the whole grain or darker breads...cuz like mom said..."The whiter the bread, the quicker you're dead". But damn, sourdough tastes so good! And i'm too lazy to go to TJ's or the farmer's market for whole wheat sourdough every time i need bread. Get that stuff in the supermarket and i'll be all over it! Anyway, back to the sandwiches. After all this I have to admit that the sandwiches are damn good! I get a turkey avocado and cheese on wheat and it's great. Luckily the bread doesn't disintegrate under the weight of the fillings. Fresh and ripe avocado, provolone, and sliced turkey. Very tasty, very filing and i'm pissed that I can't get this after work or on the weekends when I'm too lazy to make my own! They also chop up a nice relish of bite sized pieces of tomato, pickles, onions to put on your sandwich...super good and makes each bite tasty and evenly distributed with the whatever "meat" filling or combo of meats you choose. Get here early. Don't plan on weekends cuz they're closed. It is worth the trouble to go here on your weekday lunch 'hour', if you still get one of those. read more

Located in the business park off Iowa Avenue, one may want to Google map the location before driving over to have a idea how the storefront looks as it is identical to its neighboring businesses. It is definitely helpful to look above their back wall on their black chalkboard for recommendations of their most popular sandwiches. On my first visit, I order the turkey, bacon, and avocado sandwich (cold sandwich). I'm nonchalant about turkey, but I am definitely a fan of avocado in my sandwiches. It was love at first bite. The last time I had a really good sandwich was my last visit to SF's Gregoire. You wouldnt think that such simple concoction can awaken taste buds. I also had the monster sandwich, if you love meat, then this sandwich is just for you as it includes such meat as roast beef, ham, turkey. Unfortunately, most of the sandwiches are placed on plain baguettes. I can only imagine how much better it would be if they offered different bread selection. Overall, the price is decent ranging from $6-7 before tax depending on the length you choose for your sandwich as they have that option.
