My fiance and my experience at Tummy Stuffer was one not so much for the food, but the connection that the owner and cashiers had with the common clients. It was both of our first times at Tummy Stuffers and we do love supporting the local mom n pop places because their food is usually better then the highly commercialized alternative. If you are looking for a place to get a good pastrami sandwich (definitely not HAT-like), then this is a good place to go, plus their enormous selection of sandwiches to choose from. This place is great for lunch. It is a little hard to find because it's in a business area but its on the corner of Iowa & Columbia. I'm a big fan of number 98 on squaw bread. It's turkey, bacon and avocado. Delicious. Definitely a no frills kind of place. It is a place full of regulars. Definitely stop by if you are in the area and are hungry for a sandwich. I work not too far from this little tiny Sandwich place, so of course I'd have to check it out. The sandwiches are good, with a large amount of meat in it, compared to places like Subway. The rolls are store bought, which is expected, but still pretty good. They do seem a little pricey for what you get, but with little to no local competition, they can get away with that. Great subs, tons of variety and quick service! This is one of the best places to get a sandwich if you are in the UC Riverside area. My go to is always ham, turkey and swiss. I go for the full 12" roll because their bread is bomb and I can't get enough of it! It is really a highlight of the sandwich. Service is always so fast. What is unique is that they dice thier tomato, onion and (tastes like homemade) pickles for the sandwich. It looked weird the first time I tried it, but I guarantee you that it's perfect for the style sandwich you are getting. Overall just a perfect place to stop and have lunch during a busy day. If you can't get your Tummy Stuffed on the huge selection of over 100 sandwiches to choose from you got problems. I've tried the pastrami and club sandwiches and the bread is always perfect, generous portion of meat, and all for a extremely reasonable price. Not that there is many choices to choose from in Riverside but if you need somewhere for a good quick lunch on your work break, this is the #1 spot. I do not recommend the salads. I had a large online order for my work. Within that order was 2 tuna salads and 1 chicken salad. We received 1 tuna salad and 2 chicken salads. The avocado was not ripe, so it was un-edible and the chicken was very salty. Also, they use iceberg lettuce, which isn't appetizing. read more

The portions are huge! Good prices with daily specials. It is located in a business park and sort of hard to see the sign. I had the turkey avocado special on squaw bread. Delicious. I got the monster sandwich and it was really good and filling. I ate half then saves the second half for later. They don't skimp on ingredients :) I got a good amount of roast beef and turkey. Yummm. You cannot beat this places food. The bread is awesome, the veggies are fresh and the service is quick. I've been going here for 10 years. Not every day, just sporadically. I used to go a lot when I was in undergrad here at UCR but everytime I'm in R-side I'm tempted to pick up a sub. The prices aren't too bad, its a little on the pricey side for a sandwich (especially when My Hero is down the street). The only knock is that it has limited hours. They cater to the business park that they are in but that hurts us individuals that need a sandwich at odd hours of the day. Also, it is worth mentioning that their 12 inch only costs $1.20 more than their 8 inch. So just get your 12 inch, lol. I was introduced to Tummy Stuffer by my friend who took me here for lunch! It was a great way to try something new outside of the Downtown Riverside area. He told me "this place is quick but have great quality food!" And this place did not disappoint. Prices are affordable (less than $8.00 and it included quality chips and drink), so many choices (sandwich, chips and drink selection), to meet anyone and everyone's cravings! I tried the Mushroom/cheese/steak sandwich and it was delish! My friend got the monster sandwich and it also looked delish...had lot of bacon, which is always a win! Only reason why I couldn't give a 5 star, was because I had to basically wipe down and clean up the table that we sat at. You would never know this deli would be so ridiculously good with where it's located. I was in Riverside picking up samples and did a quick Yelp search. Tummy Stuffer popped up within a mile of where I was. Opened the door and couldn't believe how many people were there dining. College students, families, policemen, and businessmen. We walked right up to the counter. The staff was friendly, helpful and patient as we looked through the extensive menu. Literally something for everyone. I get the 44 (Steak, meat sauce, cherry peppers, grilled onions and cheese). At first, I was like, "Meat Sauce?! In a Philly Cheesesteak?!" Now, I'm like, "MORE MEAT SAUCE, PLEASE!" It is so good. I have the same thing every time -- ham and cheese and I'm picky about the condiments, and they always have it right. I was hoping for a nice salad with variety of vegetables and that is exactly what I got! - Chicken Breast Salad: Ice berg lettuce, avocado (super fresh), half boiled egg, red cabbage sliced, lots of tomatoes, really good chicken (a lot of chicken too!), carrots, and cucumber. Service was sluggish, but understandable because it's usually busy during the lunch hours they are open. I'm very happy to see that after 7 years, that place is still there, cause their sandwiches were the best. My favorite was the MONSTER, it had everything you wanted in a sandwich... layers of roast beef, ham, turkey, cheese, bacon, and their homemade salsa they put on top. OMG i can till remember the taste of it even today. The place is real chill, the staff are very friendly. It's a cool place you go to eat before class, or after basketball where you want to go somewhere to grub. It's sad this place is only open on weekdays, but who can blame them, cause they're so popular. I've since moved away from there, and the only time i get to go there is on weekends if i get a chance, but they're not open... sad. It's also only open during lunch hours so take that into consideration if you're planning on visiting. This place has a great selection of subs, all with great meat and fresh veggies. It's a little on the expensive end for a sub (I mean, it's pretty tough to beat subway) but it makes up for it in quality. Wow! This place is one of the best sandwich places! I am never going to subway ever again unless Tummy Stuffers is closed. I mean, I think subway sandwiches are awful to begin with, but after trying this place, you will despise subway and their measly 6" subs with tiny slivers of meat. This place gives you 8 inches of sub and is generous with the meat! Take that, subway! The ingredients here are fresh and the bread is really good. If you have no idea what to order, you can't go wrong with any of the options they have listed on their menu board. The Monster is amazing but definitely not meant for one tiny person. Maybe 2 or 3. The place seems like a go-to lunch spot for local office workers. When I walked in at lunch, I immediately felt underdressed, because everyone had on suits and work clothes, and I was just in my t-shirt and jeans. I heard a lot of good things on yelp about this place, which is probably why I had pretty high expectations for their food. I ordered the steak, mushroom, and onion sandwich, footlong. It was pretty cheap for the amount of food I got, and they got it to me pretty quickly, despite it being lunch hour. They wrapped my sandwiches in paper and then put it in a Styrofoam container to go, which at first I thought was strange, because it was such a waste of resources. Only when I got home did I realize that the sandwiches were so greasy that the oil soaked right through the paper. Good call, Tummy Stuffer! Wasn't too thrilled about the amount of fatty juices that came out of my sandwich, though. I found the sandwich kind of hard to eat. As I unwrapped the sandwich, all the contents started spilling out. I requested tomato on top, but it wouldn't stay put, and I ended up having to eat a lot of the filling with a fork. The bread was very soggy, and that made it feel like there was too much filling in the sandwich. The meat was okay, but it didn't taste like anything very special. I've definitely had better sandwiches, but for the price, it's decent for a Riverside restaurant and it had a lot of choices on the menu. However, my sandwich was very greasy and food coma-inducing and difficult to eat. Perhaps I will return and try a dryer sandwich next time with an easier grip. read more

To be honest, other than the Chicken Terriyaki Bowl, i've only had one sandwich and it was so long ago i'm not sure which one it was. The bowl alone is worth the trip and I recommend it to people all the time.
