Pretty disappointed with Tumi. Went with my son who's still in a stroller. Opened the door and struggled to get the stroller in while the employees just stared. I don't expect them to hold the door open but don't appreciate being stared at either. I tried to find a wallet for my husband for Christmas so I walked around the small wallet section. Then 3 tourist walk in and all of a sudden a huge burst of "Aloha!! Welcome!!" comes out from the workers. It was clear that I was out of place, and definitely didn't feel welcome so I just left. I get that they wanna cater to the tourist but sheesh, no aloha for the locals I guess. read more

I had a planned short vacation and when I checked my carry on luggage I remembered that the wheel's rubber cover has worn out. I was just glad that during my prior visit to Tumi and mentioned it to the store manager the situation he said to bring it in and they will check. A week before my trip I brought it in and was helped by Jordan. He was very polite and very pleasant. He took in my luggage and checked right away if they have the parts. They were able to finished and get it ready in a few hours. I was really happy with the service and attitude of their staff. Very satisfied and will always be a loyal customer. read more

I've stopped here a number of times, mainly accompanying a friend in looking for various items. With the numerous face changes to this outlet, I came in to browse. In reaching the wallet section, I remembered that my current one is beginning to wear (sign- the transparent ID plastic is no longer clear, marred with black streaks). I looked at the ones offered, comparing styles and prices before settling on my purchase. It was tough finding the specific specs that I want for my wallet () but I found the one. I handed it to Armando, the friendly salesperson and cashier who asked me to wait as he found another identical yet relatively untouched duplicate from the storeroom. Nice that I wasn't stuck with the floor display one. He quickly rang me up and we were on our way to meet neighborhood friends for an early lunch. Over the years, I have bought carry-on luggage, a couple of backpacks, a belt, and a crossbody bag here. Only on one occasion did I need to make a return, as I had a change of heart. I decided to write this review because of my recent experience. I just returned from a month-long trip, during which I took my Tumi carry-on luggage with me to Seoul, Fukuoka, and Vietnam. It took a beating in Fukuoka; I was afraid the wheels would fall off, but they didn't. It survived a 10-minute walk from the bus station to our hotel, traversing paved roads, bumps, gravel, and rocky grassy areas, and I had to do it twice since we walked back to the bus station. However, it could not handle the airline baggage handlers. Instead of carrying it on, I checked it in because we bought things that weren't allowed as carry-on. When I retrieved my luggage, I didn't notice that 2 out of the 4 wheels were broken. It has double-sided wheels, so only one side broke, allowing it to roll nicely at the airport. It wasn't until I got to my in-laws' home in Seoul that I realized the wheels were broken. I really like this luggage, so when I got back home, I took it to the Tumi store in Waikele and showed them the broken wheels. The staff were very nice; they didn't frown upon seeing old luggage. I'm sure they would have preferred for me to buy something new, but I give them 5 stars for how they handled my situation. They didn't even ask for a purchase receipt. The staff immediately went to the back to see if the wheels were in stock, and if none were available, he mentioned there were other options: checking with another retail store (free of charge) or sending it to the mainland for a $25 processing fee, with a quote provided before any repairs were done. Note that I was expecting to pay for the repairs, but they had the wheels in stock, were able to fix it the same day and no charge! These folks are awesome, and I highly recommend Tumi for their product and services. read more

I will wait for the perfect travel bag replacement, as I have not found exactly what I want yet. Atmosphere - Low on product, but that is expected in today's environment and really not an issue, except of course the one product I wanted was only the display (floor model) with slight damages (scratches). Service - Sadly below average on this trip. He was not negative, but far from positive or supportive. We have had such positive experiences with this brand regarding service. Bought the last slightly damaged display item and they could not do anything about it. You would think that they can look us up and see how much $$$ we spend with this brand and take care of a loyal customer, but not today... If the Tumi team is reading this, please see the Tumi Livermore, CA Yelp on how service should be!! Prior to 2004, when Doughty Hanson & Co acquired Tumi, they had a lifetime warranty. Now, the first year is a "worry free" ownership, and the next 2-5 year warranties depend on the specific product. Price - Expensive, but you usually get what you pay for; a quality product with a reputable name brand. Hopefully in the future, we will continue to experience the good service we received numerous times in the past. Don't worry, I am still a loyal customer. TUMI, or not Tumi, THAT is the question....... I'm sure many others, like myself, have asked themselves that same questions time and time again. After all, Tumi products are, no doubt, manufactured with the finest materials and quality craftsmanship. And, of course, a quality product has a quality price attached to it as well. Thank GOODNESS for the Tumi Outlet store at Waikele, where quality products are sold at lower prices. LOCATION: Upper section of the Waikele Premium Outlets. Parking available in the center lot. The store is a decent size showcasing various products from suitcases, bags, and accessories. On this particular visit, I was interested in looking at their carry-on luggage/suitcases. Thankfully, there was a sale in progress on various styles ranging from 25, 30, or 40 percent off depending on the style and type of suitcase. I looked at various carry-on choices, and after much thought and deliberation, I selected a carry-on that satisfied my requirements of color, style, and (especially) price. SERVICE: Excellent. I could not have made a firm decision/choice without the assistance and help of the dedicated staff. The saleslady that helped me was very friendly, outgoing, and most importantly, very patient. She showed me three carry-ons and took her time to explain about style, features, as well as pointing out the various pockets and compartments present within each of these. Though I was only planing on "looking" versus buying that day, the product quality, customer service, price, and warranty convinced me otherwise. He looked it over, said he'd be right back as he could fix it right away, whisked my suitcase into the back room and within 5 minute had it back in my hands all fixed up! Within the short waiting time, Joanne was so kind to answer questions that I had on the other Tumi suitcases. I enjoyed my visit so much I ended up purchasing three more additions to our Tumi family of bags. Need a Tumi anything on the island of O'ahu? Super happy with our new check-in bag. Great roller wheels, pockets/compartments and lock. Options of colors were great. All for a discounted price from the retail price. If you want or need a nice piece or set of luggage and want it to last. This is a good place to invest. It's unfortunate that I had to give one star to this business. Zero is much more appropriate. I purchased a belt from this store. After about a year, the buckle fell apart. It hadn't been worn very much in that year, but I understood that I would probably have to purchase a new buckle, and was willing to do so. I brought the belt into the store and showed it to the gentleman working there. I was asked if I had a receipt. I hadn't brought it with me, and I told him that I didn't think I needed to, as part of the purchase process is entering the serial number of the items purchased into the company's computer system, along with the purchaser's name and address, so that there will be a permanent record of the purchase. The gentleman proceeded to tell me that a) Tumi doesn't sell this belt, and b) even if they do, it wasn't sold at this store. I explained to him that I had given my name and address to the salesperson at the time of purchase, and that it could be easily looked up. There was no way this "salesperson" was going to look it up in the computer. I was the only person in the store, but he refused to even make the effort to prove me wrong or himself right. He just told me that I didn't buy it there. I asked him if what he was saying was that I am "shit out of luck", and he answered affirmatively. I went home, and looked in the folder which contains emailed receipts, and what do you know? There it was, a receipt from that very store for that very item. The item that they don't sell, have never sold. I proceeded to forward that email to their posted support email address, and have received no response. I then forwarded it to their posted service email address, and expect the same response. I have purchased bags from LV that have been repaired 5 years after purchase without so much as a charge. I have returned bags to Gucci that didn't wear well, and was given credit to purchase a replacement bag. But this company goes so far as to humiliate a customer, accusing them of impropriety, when trying to purchase replacement parts. I am thoroughly disgusted. I wish I could return every piece of Tumi that I have purchased, from iPhone and iPad holders, backpacks, shaving kits, wallets, on and on. Instead I will make sure to use them even more often and tell everyone that says anything about them exactly what I think of this company. Disgusting. Never again. read more

I walked into the Tumi Outlet with my old carryon luggage in tow. It was about 1:00 pm and the store was very crowded. I made eye contact with a salesperson and pointed to my luggage that needed repair. Mia acknowledged my luggage and then politely asked me to have a look around. I was dismayed that she seemed to be the only one on duty. The store eventually cleared out when two of her co-workers returned to the floor. I asked Mia how I could replace the plastic cover piece that came off the handle. After checking that they did not have the replacement piece in their inventory, She advised that I could pay $25 to send it to the factory and await a response to see if it could be replaced. But then she had an idea for an immediate fix. For $29, I could buy a kit that included a snap-on leather handle cover along with other miscellaneous pieces that were contained in a nice cloth bag. The snap-on handle was a perfect fix and a comfortable solution. Being the great, patient salesperson she is, I also bought a packable duffel bag. Next time I'm in the market for another piece of luggage, I'm going to see Mia. She is a good representative for their quality merchandise. read more

I walked into Tumi and was greeted at the door and the man at the front of the store offered his assistance. I browsed around the store, having in mind what I was looking for since I heard great reviews and Tumi overall is a great luggage company. A shoulder bag caught my eye and immediately, Francis (The man that approached me) offered his assistance and told me of the amazing promotion for it. He was very genuine and really knew about Tumi product by explaining in detail about the product I was looking at and answering any questions I had with a smile. I ended up getting a luggage and a shoulder bag which will be great for my travels. A bonus: they were both on sale! Score! The environment and atmosphere he created was amazing and I would definitely come back to shop for more! Out of all the stores that I would normally shop, he by far gave the best customer service experience from his confidence in his product knowledge to really just making the customer feel welcomed.
