Khiem at TUMI was absolutely wonderful! He was incredibly helpful, professional, and attentive throughout my entire visit. He took the time to help me find exactly what I needed and even assisted with personalization for all of my items, which made the experience feel extra special. The level of service and professionalism he provided was truly exceptional. Khiem went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and he made my visit such a memorable one. Tumi - Luggage Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

Went to buy a new bag for work with my three year old so. Despite the store being busy, the staff were very attentive, quick, and well versed in the products. The store itself was big and had a full selection of products. The icing on the cake was my son yearned for a snack and one of the staff came and gave him gummy bears. Over and above. While expensive products, I think the quality and warranty justify it. read more

We had a fantastic experience at Tumi in South Coast Plaza thanks to Ian! We brought in our online order to get the luggage tag personalized, and Ian went above and beyond. He was very attentive, detail-oriented, and extremely helpful in making sure everything looked perfect. Great service like this is hard to find nowadays and highly recommend asking for Ian if you visit this location! read more

I usually receive good service, but I was especially impressed by the two gentlemen that assisted me. First, Ian was kind enough to get my bag's personal engraving done. While he was trying to assist another couple, he still checked on me and was helpful in updating on how soon my engraving would be done. While waiting, I found another item I was interested in. He was able to give me info and check on availability. He was very good in juggling the purchase of another couple's item along with mine. I didn't feel neglected. If anything, I felt that he wanted to make sure I was taken care of. Once I purchased the item, he asked Hyunmin to help get the engraving done for it. Hyunmin checked to make sure how I wanted the engraving done. He was thorough and ensured it was done to my satisfaction. Both associates impressed total customer satisfaction for me. I truly felt like a valued customer. Thank you, Tumi, for having such great associates! read more

Fantastic customer service from Carla, the sales associate. I had previously looked up the item I was looking for I knew the care instructions, materials, warranty and so forth. Upon arrival she was assisting one customer so me and my children started browsing while we waited. She was very attentive and informative; she answered the remaining questions I had. I mentioned the backpack was a gift for my nephew and she wrapped it in a gift box, included a gift receipt. Since I wasn't sure about the initial plate, she informed the item could be taken back for customization. The purchase experience was wonderful. read more

Went to Tumi in South Coast Plaza for a simple backpack repair. The young gentleman that assisted me took time out of his busy schedule to help fix my zipper problem. It's because of the hassle free customer service like this, that I purchase Tumi products. I would definitely go back as a repeat customer. read more

I've been buying Tumi for decades and I'm so disappointed with how they've gone downhill. Nothing seems to be covered under warranty and the customer service representatives are rude. Even minor fixes require shipping to Georgia and I've had to pay the round trip shipping. I won't be buying another Tumi product. read more

I am impressed with their customer service and quality of their products. The staff will take their time to answer questions and explain the features and benefits of their different options. The store isn't real big but efficient in the way it's designed. I would recommend this store and appreciate the way they provide next level customer support. read more

Unfortunately Tumi has not held up to its quality image. Products are assembled in China/ Viet Nam so there goes the quality control aspect. That being said I came to this store to fix a non retractable handle on a roller bag was handed a replacement got to car and wall-a same issue. Waiting 20 min for another replacement and of course none so sales lady fixing replacement bag handle really? Just saying for the price of these bags save yourself some money and get a travel pro which I have owned for years without any problems. I have owned this bag for 1 1/2 yrs hook is too long to accommodate bag without dragging on ground also the side handle is on opposite side of opening zipper so constantly have to turn bag around before opening. Worst bag ever owned super heavy and dis functional. read more

This review is based on Tumi as a company that stands behind their products. I own +5 of their Vapor travel suitcases, along as backpacks, and other bags. I dropped my Vapor off to have 1 wheel replaced after having it broken by Alaska Airlines last year. The in store service was average... hence the -1 star for low energy staff and service. The store had it shipped out to fix. I received email confirmation immediately and in a few weeks, Tumi had already shipped my luggage back to me all fix up. I was expecting a charge/fee for the repair, however; Tumi went out of their way to honor the fix. I'll continue using Tumi and highly recommend their solid products. read more

Recently during the pandemic i needed to drop off a piece of luggage to get fixed. I had been putting it off for some time now, but wanted to get it done before the warranty expired. Luckily the fix was pretty simple and they were able to have it done by the next day in store. I know that for more major repairs they need to sent it out. Thankfully i was able to get my bag back before we go into another COVID shutdown. Overall the staff here is friendly and since not too many people are interested in purchasing luggage these days due to travel restrictions, its also a good time to shop for a new set if your in need. read more

I have been a Tumi customer for many years. I received a Tumi travel shaving kit bag as a present, but bought at another store. I went into the Tumi store in South Coast Plaza and asked if they would emboss my initials in gold letters on the Tumi bag. The two gentleman sales persons could not have been more helpful and immediately went in the back and added my initials to the Tumi shaving kit bag. There was no charge for the embossing, even though purchased at another store, and they refused a tip I wanted to give. The store manager at the time is Noemia Wingett. Thank you very much Tumi Store in South Coast Plaza and I will be back for my next Tumi buy. read more

I travel A LOT. I used to buy high end luggage and then went through a stretch where is was so upset by how the airlines destroyed it that I compromised and went with more "value" options. I've also been a hardcore leather saddleback briefcase carrier. I love that briefcase. The luggage never lasted and that leather bag is clumsy to travel with at times. So I got a Tumi roller board carry on and backpack to match. It's a total game changer. Their stuff is expensive but totally worth it IMO. And the backpack for my laptop and travel work stuff is lights out. They have a style and size for literally everyone. As of now I couldn't be happier. read more

We've been a Tumi customer for a long time now and we really love their bags and everything. The 2 star is for customer service. We've noticed that every time we go to this particular location: 1- the staff doesn't even greet us or look our way to acknowledge that you're in their store even when there's only one other customer. 2- she doesn't seem to enjoy working here and selling items as she's always very hard to approach 3- was planning to purchase a last item on the floor and someone put the wrong tag on it, instead of being sorry that someone made a mistake she was automatically going to charge without asking if we still wanted the item and it feels like she thought we did the mistake. Of course, we will not get an item that someone put a wrong tag on and make us feel unwelcome on the shop! We love tumi but I think we'll either find another location or buy somewhere else. read more

Younger female working at the store on 1/5/2022 made the visit to this Tumi store unpleasant. I've been comparing the Aluminum carryon to the Rimowa Original Cabin for a while now and this experience made the choice easy. Went into the store, was not greeted or asked if I needed help. I picked up what I thought was the Tumi Raw aluminum carryon, and proceeded to lay it down on the leather wrapped table height area used to place luggage you want to inspect. At that point in time I was no longer ignored and scolded that I wasn't supposed to touch the display only luggage and what I was holding was "the titanium carryon, and it costs $3,000." There was no sign that said it was a display and I don't know how anyone purchases luggage without inspecting zippers, pockets, wheels etc. I told her I didn't know I wasn't supposed to and there should probably be a sign. Her response was "it's kinda up there on it's own so..." I didn't realize eye level meant something was up on its own. The rest of the experience went like this, She took the titanium carryon away from me and provided me the black aluminum carryon that was sitting on a pedestal below the titanium carryon. It appears that the luggage isn't for display only, she just didn't want me to touch it for whatever reason. I didn't ask her if they had the silver aluminum color so I inspected the interior of the black aluminum carryon. I did not like the Tumi experience; hear me out. I'll keep my concern short, if this is how Tumi was going to treat someone who is in the purchase phase and willing to spend money to buy something from them, imagine trying to get anything serviced or repaired! Therefore, I left this store and visited Rimowa. At Rimowa I was immediately greeted by Rimowa staff (all of the staff were helping another customer yet had the time to greet me) and was assisted with everything. I was even allowed to touch any and all luggage I wanted! I left that day with a Rimowa carryon instead of Tumi. read more

Great selection at this store! Came to return a bag my husband bought for work at a different location but the bag was just way too big for what he needed! Mortified- everything we have bought recently has been falling apart. Had to take multiple items in to get fixed. Zippers coming off, phone cases falling apart - literally in half and pieces and an iPad case coming unstitched and the case part just splits and cracks - literally falling apart in the sales persons hands. The sales guy looks at us and says they don't make it anymore so he can't help. Then it's a have to send it to LUGGAGE repair to have them re-sew the case?!?! Telling us that the store isn't responsible for defective products. WHAT?!? We explain that YES, they have the same case in a slightly darker color. Nope. They do not have it. We hold it up,.. it's here! Nope - that's not it - ugh. Really?! We explain that Tumi just recently swapped out the falling apart phone case. Even in a different color. Nope. No they did not. That's not the phone case. Me- yes it is,.. we just had this replaced a few weeks ago. The sales staff - loudly tells us it is not. It is not the same case - they did not change that. Loudly - as if I am some dumb ass idiot. Needless to say,.. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Sadly, Tumi product has taken a HUGE tumble in quality. After today it is crystal clear that Tumi must direct sales staff to NOT honor the warranty any more at the store level. Really? Sending a BO defective iPad cover in to a repair facility - to "fix it" maybe. To maybe offer a replacement maybe. My goodness - On a side note- TUMI isn't actually TUMI anymore. It is actually Samsonite. So, there you go. Sadly, I think that last part might be the reason for the issues "today". read more

I've used Tumi products for years. They are excellent quality, but you pay a premium for it. I stopped by the Tumi store in South Coast Plaza to buy another set (My wife has adopted my previous set). I worked with the salesperson to get a briefcase and carry on bag. I checked the prices on the tags ($599 and $99), and said that I would take them. When I got to the counter to pay, she told me there was a mistake on the briefcase tag, and it would be an extra $200. If you put a product on the shelf, and attach a price tag to it, you kind of have to honor that price. A manager got involved and it just seemed like everyone there was kind of clueless. I got home, went online, and purchased the same products for about 10% less. I think I will do all of my future Tumi shopping online as well. read more

I bought two pieces of the "non destructible" hard sided luggage for my wedding and honeymoon. Prior to our wedding, I traveled from OC to Sacramento and one of the bags was totally dented, scratched and looked like I had it for years. I hauled all the luggage back to the South Coast Plaza store and was told they could not help me. I was told to pull out my warranty and contact Tumi directly. Gee, great, so happy I bothered to buy it from a store for personalized service. I hauled it all back through the mall to my car. Today I pulled out the warranty and guess what it says?! That's right, it says return it to the Tumi boutique. I called the store and they were not very apologetic, they just said "if you bring it in we will ship it back to Tumi for you, or you can do it yourself." Oh, and it will take 3-4 weeks. I don't know about you, but if I buy a piece of "indestructible luggage" that they tossed a piece of on the ground and jumped on, guarantying it would not be airline damaged...shouldn't' t they just give me a new suitcase from the store? Especially when I spent over $1000 dollars on two pieces. So unhappy. read more

Love Tumi. Beautiful designs that are both stylish and timeless. Flawless construction. Top shelf quality materials. Over the years, I've purchased various items from Tumi (this store as well as other locations). Luggage, cases, wallets, clips. Tumi is and has been my number one brand for travel and work accessories, but this store, though selective and beautiful, is unbearable. Terrible sales people work here and they choose who deserves to be served, ignored, or followed. It's aggravating when I come in to buy a quick gift for someone and I can't be bothered to dress up go shopping. I want to buy a $300 wallet please? No? You don't want my money because I'm not covered in name brands? Okay. Bye. Hello. I'd like to buy a $1,000 travel bag please. Oh, thank you for helping me because I bothered to put on clothing that makes me look like everyone else's rich housewife. Please stop hovering around me while I look at money clips. I'm not going to steal them though I'm sure you think I will because I'm wearing jeans and a t shirt and not carrying a Fendi purse. Note to your staff (and most employees at SCP): I'm shopping here. You're working here. Figure it out. read more

I love Tumi products. This store is excellent - great selection, I believe only second to the one in Manhattan. Not one of the Tumi products I own has ever failed me, nor do they seem to age at the speed of their competitors. Only reason this isn't a five star is because the lack of a lifetime warranty (...they used to have one) - sure, the quality is excellent and you hardly ever hear about problems with anything they make. But, Briggs and Riley is out there with a lifetime warranty... so next time around, I may have to check them out. read more

Follow up on the backpack! I returned the horrible quality bag online but not before I showed it to Nordstrom. My boyfriend really liked the style (even after persuading him otherwise) and I was able to repurchase it at Nordstrom in Costa Mesa. However, since they didn't have it in-store they ordered it for me from another store and it was shipped directly to my home. When I showed them the bag they were horrified at the quality and condition and reassured me that the bag I would receive would not be like this one that came directly from the Tumi factory. They also offered me free shipping. When the bag came in everything was perfect. Thanks, Nordstrom...no thanks Tumi!! **Also, I went to Macy's Home, Macy's Men and Bloomingdale's before Nordstrom, they didn't carry this backpack style in their order catalog. read more

Had a great experience here today. My carry on bag I bought a year ago tag was accidentally ripped off as I was taking it out of the overhead compartment on the plane. I called and brought it in, and they replaced it in a few hours! Pretty cool. They didn't charge me, didn't ask questions and gave me a few options: 1) They can do their best to fix it now and it may not look 100% 2) They could send it to the corporate office and wait 4-6 weeks I opted for #1 and they did a great job! Sure, it doesn't look perfect, but its good enough. Thanks a lot Tumi! read more

I just have to take a moment to provide a review of the customer service that I received from from an Associate Manager, Karla Gardner of the South Coast Plaza TUMI retail store. Karla was patient in listening to my concerns regarding a transaction issue I had with a purchase I had made with Tumi.com. With her assistance, I was able to reach a satisfactory resolution to my problem. She also spent the time to personally handle the monogramming of some of my previously purchased Tumi luggage pieces. I was so impressed with the customer service that she provided that I promised to come back to the South Coast Plaza store for all my future Tumi purchases. She is certainly a great example of what a company management/sales representative should aspire to. A job well done! Sincerely, Ernie L. read more

To start I love Tumi, the brand has always captured my heart as the perfect corporate travel luggage company. My girlfriend recently bought a beautiful Tumi Alpha letterpad for me and we were not happy with the monogramming of my initials, JMB, which was supposed to be on the outside to our understanding of the pad, with a patch, and came just as weak lettering on the inside. We came in and they were very unable to help us and referred everything to outside Tumi support. Also I brought two other bags of mine to get monogrammed and they wont monogram any patch that is already on your bags but blank without it being removed. Also they did not have any patches available to even monogram, should we go out of our way to do it ourselves with our own tailor. Basically went in hoping Tumi would treat me as a loyal customer, I have all sorts of briefcases, duffels, travel bags, executive gear from them and buy it for my family, and felt sort of kicked aside. Especially when they told me about the $30 charge to ship my bags to get monogrammed in addition to another $25 or more in monogramming charges, bla bla bla. Anyways this young executive still loves Tumi but wasn't happy with the way the Tumi store treated us and barely tried to help. The guy at the front desk was relatively helpful but his manager quickly pushed the issue aside. I may be asking a lot but feel like we deserve more and that they should try to treat their customers as princes and queens for they know not who wields the Tumi in question. read more

This review is based on the Customer Service and Repair Dept: We purchased a Tumi Garment bag about 3-4 months ago at Macy's Home which is also in SCP. The Zipper broke and we took it to Macy's (they were not as helpful as I expected) and they referred us to the Tumi Boutique. We walked in, Phong (hope I spelled it right) greeted us and we told him we were referred to have the zipper fixed and while we were here we wanted to get the Monogram done as well. He said it could be done right away and took it to the back. Literally within 5 minutes, it was all done. He gave us back the garment bag and that was it. I have to say Phong was very pleasant and efficient. I know that doing maintenance jobs can be not as fun as selling something, so I really appreciated the help. Thank you Phong and the Tumi boutique. I'm happy we buy Tumi and that your customer service can back up the product as well!!! Next time I will buy from you guys for sure!!! read more
