Was excited to try a new chicken place in town with my group of friends so we all hit this place up after work. It used to be an old diner in the area for a very long time so I love that they used the old building and repurposed. The inside had a great upscale Southern charm to it, while still feeling very welcoming. Staff were all happy to greet us and seat us at our table where we ordered a couple rounds of drinks, and then proceeded to order our dinners. I ordered the southern chicken sandwich mo' hot on the spice scale with a side of mac & cheese. The flavors of the sandwich and the chicken were amazing from spice level, to texture of crisp, to the overall chicken flavor -- for a first couple weeks of being open they really nailed the flavors and execution. Spice level is totally preferential so you do you. Tupelo Honey Chicken sandwich is good but messy. We got the Szechuan Fries. They are a good appetizer. Oreo Shake good. Lots of ice cream. Saw this place advertised A LOT on Instagram the area is in intimidated me because i assumed it would only be street parking but they actually have a parking lot! Came here on a Tuesday night after doing a 90 minute yoga session at Big Power Yoga starving. Parking was easy and the service was good. We were seated immediately and our server was kind enough to give us some honest recommendations and what was a good deal to him. We ended up with the hot honey chicken sandwich and for an extra $2 added a side of collared greens, and the 3 Korean fried chicken thighs that came with one side and was able to upgrade that to dirty fries. If you're just looking for something unhealthy then here you have it. I loved fried chicken and fried chicken sandwiches but unfortunately it didn't hit the spot. Not enough clowslaw with the hot honey sandwich and just soggy overall with underwhelming flavors. The fried chicken thigh was supposed to be Korean style and I will say it was good, but not good enough to eat on its own. It got tiring so quick and didn't taste anything like a Korean style chicken btw. I will say their collared greens were excellent. I loved it so much that I finished the whole bowl. The dirty fries were absolutely disappointing. Didn't like a single bite of it. No amount of queso could have saved how bland the fried and unexciting they were. The price was very affordable in my opinion. We paid a total of $27 (not including tip) and we even had a lemonade and Arnold Palmer. To be honest to me the lemonade tasted store bought like simply lemonade and my husband said his tasted like they used artificial sweetener which he does not prefer at all. Overall would I come back? No. BUT! If you're looking for a quick place to eat that is affordable and keeps you full and don't care for seasoning all that much give it a shot.
