Yum! First time trying this place, we were looking for a quick sandwich place for lunch. Everything we ordered was soo good!, Africano, Falafel, Fajita, Chicken shawarma.. highly recommend. The bread is crunchy, fresh, and light..made every sandwich so delicious! The people who worked there are very friendly and helpful even though it was busy! The place itself is small, I'd recommend takeout. Will definitely try again when we're in DB.

We wanted to get quick food and saw the high ratings for this place and tried it. A lot of menu items I had to look up, which is always fun. Seems a fair amount of sausage ( no pork) options. And lamb tongue was on there. I wasn't sure what i would like so I went safe this time. They were really friendly and super patient with us trying to figure it out. Definitely a busy place for locals. Our food was flavorful. I didn't expect pickles on it and they worked! They pack the chicken in, no skimping for sure. There is limited indoor seating. And canned/bottle drinks. Probably more of a takeaway place.

Tuhama's is a tiny hole-in-the-wall that has some of the best shawarma sandwiches in the area. Both meat and chicken shawarma sandwiches have the perfect balance of meat, sauce (garlic in chicken, tahini in meat), and veggies (pickled cucumbers in chicken, pickled turnips, tomato, onion, parsley in meat). Both are absolutely delicious, I highly recommend any sandwich from here. They recently put the chairs and tables back down, so you can eat in if you desire.

I took my uncle here last night because he was craving a shawarma sandwich, and Dearborn is loaded with a lot of places that sell them. He travels around the globe a lot and loves coming to Dearborn because of all the amazing food options he has. I haven't been to Tuhama's but I've heard good things about it in the last so I thought I'd give it a go and take him. My uncle ordered a chicken shawarma and was in and out quickly and the price was good. When we got home and he tried it, he said the chicken was lacking in flavor, and after having a bite or two, I was pretty disappointed and embarrassed for taking him somewhere I haven't tried. The sandwich was overloaded with garlic sauce and still tasted bland/ not cooked long enough. We're just going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it was because of how late it was that the food quality was affected. I don't think I'll try them again but it was worth a shot

The Fajita Sub was loaded with chicken, cheese, and toppings and was solid. The crispy bread had a satisfying crunch and the flavors were bold and tasty. The chicken tenders, albeit frozen, were actually very well fried and seasoned. They even gave us extra tenders in our order for free as well as a free water! On top of that, for no extra charge the order came with many different tasty sauces to choose from. Zaghloul is affordable and tasty with people who put the customer first!

Unfortunately the location in…read moreDearborn Heights just isn't somewhere I go very often so it's been stuck on my list for the longest time. They opened a second branch in East Dearborn recently which finally allowed me to give the subs a try. The restaurant itself is quite small and is mostly a takeout destination. There are only 14 seats in the small dining room, a small fridge stocked with drinks, and the order counter, from which you can see the kitchen. I went in on a very empty weekday lunch and got one item, which took about 10 minutes to come out: Lebanese Sub, Half ($8.99) - They toast this sub well, resulting in a very nice crunch on the exterior. Just be careful eating it - you can pretty easily lacerate your gums if you're not careful! The interior is moist for the most part, with a bit of a mild garlic and mayo mixture that covers all the ingredients. There's a double layer of grilled chicken breast that forms a base layer, followed by some fries that are crunchy on the exterior and fluffy on the interior, and finally a layer of crunchy and acidic pickles. The chicken is the weakest part of the dish - some pieces are overcooked, dry, and tough. It's most noticeable in the thickest areas where there's not enough mayo/garlic to add moisture to the sandwich. Still, overall I found the sub to be good and the ingredients all complemented each other well. Note: The little red tray that they served the sub in smelled heavily of bleach and my first couple of bites had a slight whiff of bleach thanks to that. If you eat here, I would recommend removing the food from the tray before eating. Zaghloul Subs is definitely worth a try.

Everything about the Philly was very good, but the bread roll really stood out to me...it was super soft & fresh but had a perfect, golden, thin, crispy crust on the exterior holding everything in place and giving just the right amount of crunch to every bite. It held up to the steamy steak and cheese like a champ without getting soggy, Solid sub. And this beast is big; half is enough to satiate almost any hungry appetite. I got mine to go, but the inside is bright & spacious with a ton of seating (but parking can be a challenge). This might also be one of the cleanest sub shops I've ever visited...absolutely spotless when I was there. While in the shop, I also got the pleasure of meeting Mike, who said he bought the place from Ricky a few years back. Mike seems to be a great dude who loves what he does and takes pride in his craft. He hooked me up with a sample of the red pepper relish, showed me what kind they use, and even told me where to buy it in bulk! He also shared some of their in-house Cajun seasoning, which was pretty tasty. Before I left, he gave me a heads up to be sure to hit Dearborn Sweets next door, and even some top selections to try (FWIW....he was right). I can't wait to come back and try some of their other subs! Shoutout and thanks to Mike for making it a great first visit!

Side Chic's blows them out of the water along with every other spot in Detroit/Dearborn (Savvy Sliders, Checkers, KFC, Chic Fil A, Chick N Kingz etc.) The breading on the tenders is very, very flavorful. They also put the perfect amount of breading on each tender. I absolutely hate overbreaded tenders where it feels like you're chewing through multiple layers till you hit chicken. Side Chic's avoids this completely by having a nice layer of breading that adds flavor and doesn't distract from the chicken. The chicken itself is hot, juicy and well textured. This is not rubbery, dry chicken. The only other way I can describe it is it just tastes fresh. I was thoroughly impressed. Side Chic's is a carry out spot that's open very, very late (which is awesome). Everyone who works there is incredibly pleasant and helpful. I was blown away to find that nothing has changed. Think about that: COVID broke the world, but Super Greenland held the line on prices, while still offering fantastic variety and quality. You can still get a bag of 8 of the freshest pitas you've ever eaten for $1.49: they're so fresh the bag still has steam in it. The baba ganoush is smoky and freshly made for only $3.49 a pound. Other deli offerings are similarly priced, and high quality. I'm not exaggerating when I say they have hundreds of spices and seasonings. I don't think twice about spending $4 for 1 ounce of cinnamon sticks at the supermarket; here, $4 gets you 6 ounces of cinnamon sticks. They have an entire aisle devoted to pickled things here. If it can be pickled, they have it here. And, do I have to tell you how much cheaper it is here than anywhere else? Oh, and do you like baklava? Of course you do. The variety of that alone is also impressive. I sometimes forget that this is also a regular grocery store. The produce is high quality, and nicely priced. With all the phenomenal middle eastern things here, I'm strangely disappointed that they also have boring things like Froot Loops, Ragu pasta sauce, and other mundane things. It's sort of like the opposite of the "international aisle" at a normal supermarket. I gave Super Greenland a great review before, but I actually think I sold them short.
