I bought an 8x8 shed from Tuff Shed and was told it would also need anchors which are required by Naperville. I was told the anchors would be installed by the crew when the shed was built. I was given also given a recommendation for somebody to prepare the shed base, a guy named Tony. Tony quoted $1,200, which seemed very high to me, so I got 3 other quotes from Angie, which ranged from $600 to $800 and included 4x4 lumber frame. Tony agreed to $800, but argued about the 4x4 lumber. He wanted to use 2x lumber, but finally agreed. The only reason I wanted to go with Tony is because he was recommended by Tuff Shed, and I wanted it done right. I told Tony it needed to be big enough so anchors could be put in and he said he knew about that. I asked him to contact Bill if he had any questions. After the shed was built, I saw that there were no anchors put in. Bill said he didn't understand why, but would check on it. Tuff shed then told me I would need to pay an additional $220.00 for the anchors, even though I was told it was included in the original price by Bill. I paid, and when they came to install them, I was told there was not enough clearance around the shed base to put the auger type anchors in that I paid for. Instead, they put in these flimsy wire type anchors on the outside of the wood frame, into the dirt. Tuff shed would not credit me with a refund for the cheap wire anchors. I then realized just how bad a job Tony did on the frame. The entire back of the shed 4x4 is floating above the ground. You can put your foot under the 4x4 in the back. It seems to be nailed in to the 4x4's on the sides. I wonder how long it will be before this thing collapses and spills the gravel out? I let Tony know I was unhappy with what he had done, and he claimed he would take care of it. Weeks later, no word. Now I see, the cheap wire anchors are loose. There is a lot of slack in at least one of them now. Maybe the base is starting to collapse? I do blame Tuff Shed for at least part of this problem, being that Tony was their recommendation. I'm really aggravated with Tuff Shed. Yes, Bill is "Nice", Tuff Shed is "Nice". All the "Nice" people that can't seen to do their job. The strange thing is, I really like the shed. I put on the second coat of paint they left for me, and it looks good. The build seems sturdy, which is why I went with Tuff Shed to begin with. That being said, I so regret going with them. I should have just gotten quotes from Angie and had a qualified person do the base and the shed. Good luck to you if you are looking to have a shed built. Try to find a place that stands by their work, and takes responsibility for the base and shed. I will probably need to go with Angie to find somebody to fix this mess. Ideally, I would like to have the base redone, so there is room to fit the proper anchors in, and the base is not floating above the ground. read more

We had been talking about getting shed for years, and finally decided to do it this spring. Austin Lamping did a great job taking us through the options, and also recommended a company that installs pads (we wanted concrete to avoid any issues with moisture and to make the shed lower to get items in and out). To say that the customer service I have received from Tuff Shed is 'poor' would be an understatement. It has been abysmal. On the scheduled install date, no crew arrived. I eventually called Tuff Shed, and learned they weren't coming at all. Tuff Shed was able to get a crew out the next day, but this was at a significant inconvenience to my wife and I, who had adjusted our busy schedules to accommodate the install. A supervisor was supposed to reach out to help make things right. That never happened. After install, we had three days with a functioning shed. We loaded our belongings, and all seemed well... Until the door latch failed somehow, and we have not been able to open the shed ever since. It has now been a month of unanswered voicemails, messages, and complete failure. Tuff Shed has $7,000 of my money, and I have the constant reminder of a bad decision in my yard. I guess "warranty" is a loose term. A Tuff Shed factory employee I had never spoken to finally reached out, after I harassed my sales consultant enough times. She scheduled some sort of repair to be done, nearly three weeks out. Over a month and a half after the problem was reported, on a three day old shed. I won't hold my breath. My experience with Tuff Shed has been frustrating and disappointing, to say the least. I urge you to save your money. Just throw a tarp and some bricks over your stuff in the yard - at least you'll be able to get to it when you need it. read more

We had a small issue with our shed. It is still in excellent condition after owning it for over 11 years, but my son managed to snap off the handle while we were putting away our summer patio furniture. We called Tuff Shed to see how we could remedy the situation and Joe immediately went to work finding us a solution. He ended up searching and finding an excellent replacement handle and updated us throughout the ordering process. Overall, we love our shed and are so happy with their customer service! read more

My wife and I had been looking at sheds by shopping all the usual Big Box stores but there were so many questions and options that we felt couldn't just be answered online or over the phone. Have to give one star until my shed is COMPLETED! Had shed installed on 8/7/2020. Was told the bundle of roof caps was damaged & someone would come out the next day to install. No one ever showed. We have sent MULTIPLE emails & texts and have phoned SEVERAL times, but have yet to receive one response! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

Who knew working on the perfect shed design could actually be fun and easy! I wandered into Tuff Shed in Lisle one morning with the idea that I needed a shed but wanted it to look a little bit Mid Century Modern to go with our early 60's California Ranch home. I mentioned that to Eric and he said let's see what we can come up with. The end product was truly exactly what I was looking for. Eric made the process of tweaking the Pro Studio shed into just what I wanted simple. The quality of the shed is excellent. Everyone who sees the shed comments on how much they love it. Installed a tuff shed and the roof wasn't finished. Now I've been trying to get the installers to come out and finish it. No luck with that! Emailed, texted and called everyday since. This is my second Tuff Shed and I was previously very happy. However this shed was installed in December and it has been almost 7 months and it is still not painted. I knew we'd have to wait until spring to have it finished and I was happy with the build. But since then I have called multiple times (800)tuffshed as well as talked to the local installers/distributor to simply have it painted. I was told "you're on a list" and hung up on by the local installer, told I'd be called back by (800) tuff shed which I wasn't, and I finally had someone come out to paint it...and SURPRISE he had the wrong colors. He told me he'd come back tomorrow and needless to say he never came back. I don't know what happened to what I felt was a reputable company but I would not recommend a Tuff Shed to anyone anymore. read more

Went to the Tuff Shed in Lisle with a plan for a small back yard shed. Sat down with Eric and worked on the plan I came up with. Eric kept on repeating don't buy too small, you don't want to buy a shed twice. We had a delay due to personal issues. Went back about 8 months later sat down with Eric and looked at his plan/ideas.
