Today was my first visit to Tudor and this review is for the fantastic pedicure I got from Stephanie. I normally go to a nail salon for pedicures, but my daughter bought me a gift certificate for Tudor. This was one of the best pedicures ever! Stephanie was very gentle when trimming, but also gave a very nice foot massage. Great job on the polish as well. I also didn't feel rushed like I sometimes do in my regular nail salon. The only negative comment I have is for the "chatty cathy" who was doing someone's hair just steps away. I think it's just a bad idea to have a hair salon in the same space as a nail salon. I like peaceful relaxation for pedicures and massages and the constant yakking kind of ruins the experience for me. I went there for an apprenticeship when I was going to beauty school. They just gave me a tour of the salon! They didn't even bother to interview me. Was told they were too busy to bother with an apprentice. As I was walking out the door, I heard them laughing. I am sure I was discriminated against because of my age. They should be ashamed of themselves! read more

I love this salon . If you need a cut or color or just a really great blow out make an appointment with Teresa . She listens to what you want and she extremely knowledgeable and experienced . Generally she knows better than I do what's good for my hair ! read more

I received a gift certificate for christmas that was for a facial and massage. I settled for an hour massage because the 1 girl they have to do facials only works every other week for a couple hours and was booked out for a month. First off there wasn't a place to sit down to undress which wasn't a problem until I was trying to get dressed after the massage. The room itself was fine enough, but there wasn't any actual aroma therapy. When you are paying for, you would expect to smell something soothing when you walk in the room. The girl had strong hands, which was nice because she worked the knots out of my upper back, but pushed them all to my lower back. I will say her hands were FREEZING. When she first put her hands on my back it shot me off the table. The oil she was using was in a hand pump and not warmed either. I would start to relax and then would hear the lotion pump. Also, the room wasn't remotely sound proof. Its not that I don't except to hear a little outside noise, but you could hear the dryers from the salon and people talking in the hallway. It was quite distracting. Once the massage was over, like I said, there wasn't a place to sit down to get dressed and when I left the room I was handed half a coffee cup of barely cold water. Definitely not one of the better "spa" experience I have had and I will not be going back, which is why I gave the amount that was remaining on my gift card (almost $20) to her as a tip. For the record - I do NOT ever write reviews but I honestly feel strongly enough to post this. I'm only writing a review on the Brazilian wax I received from Sherry - for all I know the rest of the Spa could be wonderful. For those who just want the straight facts: 1. This lady does not use gloves. 2. She uses sugar wax - this is a MILLION times more painful than any other type of wax I've had done. 3. She reuses equipment (which i HOPE she sanitizes extremely well...) 4. (This is the least important thing to me but on top of everything...) She is somewhat rude and abrasive. She does not leave the room while you change and she was almost rude with me, accusing me of shaving when I told her I hadn't etc.... I came to this place because it came up on Yelp when I searched for a brazilian. Sherry is also fairly cheap which I was glad about. I wish I had read the negative reviews before I went because they are spot on. Unfortunately I went here for my first brazilian so I did not know any better but I will NOT be going back. The thing that bothers me above everything else is the gloves and the equipment. I have no clue if this lady washes her hands between customers and how well she sterilizes the equipment. I know that I personally am "clean" but I have no idea what the girl with the appointment before mine was like.....as a healthcare professional I am well aware of how easy it is to transmit diseases between people like this. It absolutely astounds me and plain grosses me out that she does not use gloves. I went here 2 times....2x more than I should have. I never really write reviews, but for this place I felt like I needed to. I recently got a brazilian here and IT WAS HORRIBLE. I've gotten waxed before and I'm new in the in the area and a friend recommended this place. People seemed nice- no problem in this section. The waxing process was really fast. Problems and red flags (in my opinion) : 1. Waxing lady did not leave the room as I changed - SOOOO WEIRD! I was so confused. She seemed nice but I expected her to leave atleast when I changed... 2. She re-used the waxing spatula (used a metal one) and all my previous waxes, they used a wooden spatula each time they applied the wax to help prevent infection/germs. All my previous waxing ladies back home told me to watch out for places like this. But my friend recommended this place to me, so I thought it would have been okay and it looked nice from the outside?! 3. IT WAS SO PAINFUL! I've gotten waxed plenty of times and sometimes I've waited 2-3 months and this time it was about 2 months and IT WAS BEYOND painful and I definitely had red spots. 4. She used a towel and some sort of cream to clean off the wax but used the same towel for both sides...it was GROSS. 5. I then saw her rinse the spatula with water under the sink...I'm assuming she'll wash it completely later?!! This was the last straw and it GROSSED me out completely. I then quickly paid and LEFT as fast as I could. 6. THEY CHARGED ME sales tax on a service?! I'm new to the area and back home, there is no tax on services like hair cuts and salons...SO WEIRD!! NOT GOING BACK. atleast for this service...I can't judge the other services but this waxing experience was horrible even though the staff were really nice. If I could give a rating of zero stars, I would. But it deserves at least one star because of the friendliness of my hair stylist, nail tech, and esthetician. I was rudely informed by Teresa that we (myself, one other mother, and our children) were disturbing another customer and we needed to leave. And to make matters worse, she stated we should not come back with the kids if we planned on being there for an extended period of time. She never once came over during our three hour long appointment and asked if there was a way for the kids to quiet down (even though I do not believe they were ever that loud). I had my iPad and iPhone, but the kids were content and calm playing with other toys, and I try not to have them use the electronic toys unless I really need them. So if I had received any kind of earlier request, I would have passed out the electronics and let them play. Furthermore, the kids were not running around and screaming, they were talking and playing as quietly as any other customer. In fact, we had received several compliments from other customers on how well the kids were behaving. Just like any mother knows, there are typically a few times when a child may get louder, but it wasn't like they were standing in the middle of the salon screaming at the top of their lungs and I was just sitting by doing nothing. If my children were doing that, I would have paid my bill and left regardless of where I was in the process of my appointment. I was a loyal customer for 17 years, but that all ended based on the recent experience with management. While I know the place calls itself a day spa, it is in no way extremely quiet, as there are hair dryers going, people talking, pedicure tubs running, phones ringing, etc. So the idea of bringing our children to get their hair cut, as well as my own, had never been a concern. If a place advertises that it will do kids cuts, then it has to be willing to endure having kids in its building and therefore design it so that the quiet areas remain quiet no matter what. I have been in what they refer to as the quiet area for massages, and it is not quiet. I sure hope that the one customer gives them enough money to compensate for the loss of my business and that of my entire extended family. I'm guessing that even though management asked us to leave, she was still upset because she didn't get the absolute quiet massage she was hoping for and still left upset. So therefore, management gained nothing other than making sure that we never go back again and that I spread the word to every person I know to not go to Tudor Day Spa. read more

This place is the worst. I got a brazillian here. It wasn't even a true braziliian - she just did "the trianlge." It was also excessively painful. There was no privacy whatsoever. The waxer made me strip in front of her. It was like getting a brazillian in prison. I also had my eyebrows done. She did a good job at cleaning them up but did not shape them at all, possibly because she doesn't know how. I also made an appointment to get my nails done and when I showed up, they told me the appointment was for the next day. They totally screwed up and were unapologetic and did not offer to find someone else to do them for me or even offer a discount for the inconvenience. Also, when checking out I always have to stand in line while the receptionist chit chats with the regulars. I can tell they are regulars because they always have bad haircuts.
