Been coming here for years, always happy but this last time didn't go so well. I came in to have gel polish removed. The lady who I was paired with was talking to another manicurist . She kept filing my nails more and more, so thin. In doing so, she broke 2 nails. I asked if she could put tips on (like I've done dozens of times) and she said no. perhaps she misunderstood me, I wanted a fake nail put on then filed to the same length as my real nails. Horrible job would tell everybody not to go there waste of money waste of time I went there. It's so go the acrylic they cut off all my nails guy. It was not very helpful. I'm handicap. I've had multiple bad experiences here. Sometimes they make you wait over 30 minutes even if you have an appointment. One time my fingers bled from how much they drilled down outside of the nail area. Many of the color samples in the front have also been washed out by the sun, so the sample colors are not really true to what they will look like on your nails. read more

My regular salon is now closed on Sunday (pre Covid this was their peak day), and I needed my nails done. Since I was already out, I remembered this salon had recently opened in Cornerstone, so I headed here. And boy, am I glad I did. Able to walk right in, bright and clean, so many color choices in dip, gel and regular polish. The young man who did my dip took his time and did a really excellent job. Color me happy. The icing on the cake...they have a bar and drinks are complimentary with any service. Was early in the day, so I passed. But next pedi will definitely be a happy hour one. This salon deserves 1 star for failing to abide by level of service requested.. on Ma 8 my friend and I requested a pedi and a mani for me. Gel on the fingers, regular polish on the toes. They pointed to the gels (I am legally blind) . colors were pretty and matched. within 4 days my polish was wearing off and chipping. I called and Cece said I had " cheap " polish and it was only made to last 2 days, which is absurd especially when my friend was charged for Gel. My granddaughter 's wedding was in a few days so I had to remove the mess and purchase opera gloves. Honestly, staff wise this place has a few people there that know what they're doing.. but they are lacking in service. They don't value appointment times, prices fluctuate and are not up to date on website and pamphlets. They're likely to overcharge you for something simple. Their color selection is very unorganized, and don't bother asking for help because they don't understand it either. You can't even get a simple beige color even though it's in their selection you'll never find it and they won't either. Every time I'm here there's a new problem, and I will be taking my business elsewhere. If you're looking for a quick fix then this is the place, but if you're like me and you value the luxury of being in a salon, I would choose somewhere else with better service. read more

This is the worst nail salon ever. I went in for dip nails. First, I got sliced by the nail file and started bleeding. Ok. It happens. I told the tech that it hurt. 5 times throughout the rest of the manicure, she went back to the same finger, slicing the cut open over and over after I told her it hurt. She finished the dip manicure and the color had a bunch of random black speckles in it. I told the tech and she tried to tell me that was part of the color and it was supposed to be like that. She then offered to go over the dip with gel polish to cover the speckled color so I said ok. She then goes over it with a polish color and all around the edges you could see the previous darker color like a bold outline. I then told her you can see the old color still. She offered to redo them completely (after I already spent 2 hours there). I didn't have time to stay and have her completely redo them AGAIN. I paid and left and it got worse after I saw them in the sunlight. There's polish all over my fingers and the outline is more obvious in the sun. I called and asked for a refund. They say they don't do refunds but offered to redo my nails again. This was the first time in 2 weeks I was able to set aside time to actually get them done. I don't have time to come back and have them redone. Not to mention why would I ever want to come back there. I can't believe they even let me pay for this they look terrible . Additionally, every time I have come here it has been when my normal tech is too busy to squeeze me in when I do have time because I always book last minute. EVERY TIME I come to this place for dip they ALWAYS do it too thick. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

This was my first time here and I had a great experience! Here's how it went. My sister took me for a surprise pedicure for Mother's Day. We were just a walk-in so I wasn't sure how long we were going to have to wait. We walked in and omg the place is huge! We signed in electronically and were seated almost immediately. The pedi chairs were so comfortable. I wanted gels and my sister got regular polish. We got the deluxe pedicure and it was amazing! I loved how they heated everything: the scrub, the lotion, the clay leg mask. Everything was so warm and wonderful! My polish was done carefully and precise. It looks amazing! My sister's polish looked great as well! I personally had a great experience. I feel like I have to say that I'm sure it depends who the person is that does your nails. I'd ask for Vivian! She was absolutely talented and did a fantastic job! Oh, did I mention there's plenty of booze to drink there as well? I went to Luminous to get my nails done...I had the WORST experience of my life there. I was sent to an area to wait my turn...a woman waved at me to come to her station. My nails were long, and I was looking forward to a good experience...boy, was I wrong. The woman who worked on my nails destroyed them. She filed them very short and even filed the tops of my nails. I should have stopped her, but I was dumbfounded about what was happening, and I didn't quite know what to do! A couple of days later, I decided to go back to Luminous to talk to someone about my horrible experience. The man that I talked to had NO sympathy for the horrible experience I had. Instead, he blamed my difficulty on me. Pointing to my fingernails, he told me that my fingernails were bad, so it wasn't their fault...I had thin fingernails! Sitting in the parking writing this review because that's how unsatisfied I am. The technician I had was very nice but his technique is very poor. I don't mind sitting and getting a pedicure for awhile but when the finished product is poor, that's when I have an issue. I was in the middle of my appointment and my nail tech was removed to go serve a white couple. When I asked why they had her moved they told me that that they asked for her. I do not understand why she was removed in the middle of my manicure when they could've waited until she was done. My service afterwords was done by someone who does not have experience. She was not horrible but my manicure looks like a child did it when I asked for them to refund my money or to speak with someone who owns that building I was hung up on. I don't have a problem paying for service but I do not like to spend my money in places where I'm going to be treated as if my money isn't as good as the next person. So if you're white you'll probably have the red carpet pulled out for you. They could have at least offered to re do it. read more

Tried to give the salon the benefit of the doubt but they have not given me any hope. Within less than 24 hours my gel manicure chipped on two fingers. Less than a week after the gel manicure four more nails have chipped as well as one almost gone completely. I emailed the salon when the first two nails chipped however, have not gotten a response back. Honestly, don't waste your time or money here. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Second and last time having my nails done at this piss poor of an excuse of a nail "salon". It's not a salon, it's a factory. There are far better nail salons/manicurists in Dayton, although the good ones require making an appointment in advance. Shame on me for poor planning. The nail techs I've had are either inept or couldn't care less about doing even an OK job (or perhaps, both!). Sullen and uncommunicative, which maybe I could tolerate if they did a decent job. They did not. Had to ask repeatedly to do a basic cut and shape my nails. Polish was then poorly applied. I don't love manicures/sitting around, but I also don't want the tech to rush at the expense of quality. She also went to town on my cuticles, to the point they were bleeding. And, while the "salon" (factory!) attempts to look luxurious, I'd advise to look closely - it's filthy. AVOID!!! read more

Appointments are meaningless. Do not schedule here if you value your time in the least. They do the typical ratchet nail spa hustle here. Hurry up & get you seated just to so you can wait 30+ minutes away from the door so they can dupe the walk-in folks to think there's no wait. And yes they over book with walk-ins which just throws the schedule even more out of wack. Today however I did not have the time to wait for a technician to finally get to me. My appointment was at 12:30. 4 walk-ins were sat before me. I was finally placed at a station at 12:50 and by 1:10 I had watched 4 more people be sat and worked on that arrived much later than I. An appointment was made so that I could keep my other daily commitments and to avoid a wait like this. Unfortunately I was forced to finally give up and leave. What a shame! Horrible service today! The guy first came up to me while i was picking out my color and got super close and i stepped back, and he looked offened..like theres a virus and ur getting close asf to me, and he wouldnt just wait for me to pick my color kept asking me "u like this color" so i asked how much it would be for rinestones, and he couldn't even give me an answer..would do sentences half chinese and half English. Then i just sat down and he was trying to tell me not to get rinestones cuz its winter and might fall off while putting my jacket on. I said i want them how much would it be total. And he said "22 for the fill in, 16 for rinestones so 50 dollar" ....... So he cant add. Then goes "and extra 3 dollars for your nails being long.. And im like what, then he gets another girl and she tells me he said 3 dollars for him having to fix my nail...which didn't happen, he didnt fix any, none are broken, the fill in is short as seen in the picture. He didnt trip my nails down at all, didnt do a new shape...so i say that he didnt fix anything...and im being nice. Just happy tryin to get my nails done and this guy is making it hard for no reason, he kept telling me to relax over and over, pushing my hand down on the table...like god it was weird...then he puts the rinestones up and comes back and sits down and avoids eye contact and looks at the employee next to him and then he just sighs...like im doing everything right was just trying to get rinestones and a fill in..and the price to add up right.. and then i got up and left, and went to a nail salon 7 min away from there and got rinestones FOUR DOLLARS FOR BOTH nails.
