tables with menus on them

I walked in and felt ignored, but it was due to the fact that there's only one employee doing everything. I wasn't really acknowledged either, which didn't feel great. If you want your customer to know that they will be next to be seated, come by and say, I'll be right with you. Anyway, I've been to other restaurants that have one worker and that person was really good and being only one person at the place didn't stop her from going above and beyond. This person wasn't super woman. She's more like inefficient or ineffective. Enough about the service. Regarding the food, it was alright. But the price of the food was a bit too much. This isn't the city or some fancy restaurant. I got the pernil, and it was a bit dry. My friend got this seafood dish, and that in itself was around $30, but so tasteless. The portion size was good. I also got empanadas, which was the best dish that I ordered, plus the green sauce which I enjoyed. All in all, I won't be returning. I will be spending my money where the service and food are on par for the price.

Peruvian restaurant in Forest Hills very disappointing place. Half of chicken with rice and beans. Chicken not fresh, burnt, very dry and no flavor. Rice and beans there's no beans just a water from it. Shrimp soup no flavor and not to fresh. Service is horrible. One person in restaurant that takes phone orders and she have no time for customers who seating inside.

Small but nice place right on Queens Blvd. There are probably only a dozen or so tables in the restaurant. It's open for lunch as well as dinner. Dinner definitely has a more romantic vibe to the place. The food is really good here. Authentic and tastes good. Service is quick. Food came out quick and the bill isn't over the top. They deliver too which is convenient. Great place for lunch or dinner, date, or a small group. They are right on the Blvd so parking is metered or alternate side, if you can find a spot, on the side streets.

This place is so cheap with their portions. How do you order an order of rice and half of the portion is missing? Ridiculous this place continues to disappoint. Crazy expensive and the food is mediocre. A large for $6 and they didn't even bother to fill the plate. Will not be spending my money here.

I normally go here during lunch to get my favorite Inca cola. I saw empanadas on the board and had to have one. There is only one other place where I enjoy empanadas from. I must say these were really good. This place may actually top my other favorite store. They had a good price in addition to the taste. PROS: Plenty of seating, reasonable parking in the area.

Chicken chuafa and half chicken

Idk why this place is three stars. I used to get the TU casa near my house back in Jamaica and the food is always consistent and great. After moving to the forest hills area I was pleasantly surprised to find one in my area that actually delivered to me. I always get the half chicken and the chicken chuafa. The green sauce is absolutely to die for and it's not badly priced considering everything. They also have a app you can download if you want to rack up points if you're into that.

Looks are decietful... the texture is ALL KINDS OF WRONG on this plate.

This food is hardly edible much less good. How an establishment claims to be Peruvian, Dominican and Colombian and cannot cook rice or steak is beyond me. Lomo Saltado is an absolute waste of your money. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE. Bad oils, bad food textiles little to no taste of food.

Given the COVID situation, many local businesses have temporarily or permanently closed. As a New Yorker, I want to do my part and support local businesses by ordering take out once a week. Hopefully, this will all be behind us soon.  I found a small local Peruvian store called Tu Casa in Forest Hills and decided to give it a try. I ordered a Tu Casa Combo (whole chicken with salad and side of tostones), Lomo Saltado (steak, fries, and onions), and Pernil con arroz. When I got my order all packaged and sealed up, I opened it at home only to realize that they didn't give me the peril con arroz so I had to go back and get a replacement-the chuleta a la parilla  (grilled pork chop with rice and beans).  Food: The chicken was decent but the pork chop was tender. With the combination of the side salad, rice and beans, it definitely tasted like authentic home cooking. The steak was a little dried when I ate it, but the flavor was there. One thing that could be better (or maybe I just got a bad batch) was the green garlic sauce. While the "sauce" was garlicy, it was very watery instead of saucy. Maybe this is the way its made but I wish it was thicker, like a sauce. Otherwise, the food was tasty and filling, had to save the rest for tomorrow (the three order was for two people FYI) Experience: Initially, I wasn't very happy that when I got home I was missing the pernil con arroz. I tried to call them to ask, but the restaurant number was disconnected. I had to go back quickly because I didn't know when they closed (it was getting close to 8:30 pm). When I got there, I had to explain the situation to them. After some time, they realize that they were at fault because the kitchen didn't notify them that they ran out of pernil, therefore, they didn't pack it in my order. They quickly replaced my order with something else and gave me sangria and a can of soda on the house for my troubles. As I waited for the food, I saw the workers wearing masks and gloves, and thoroughly sanitize the counter surface. In the end, I was content in their service and I would definitely give them my business again.  FYI- Restaurant is open now during the city shutdown, but they stop taking orders around 9 pm to clean the kitchen as I was told (I asked since I was curious how come their phone didn't work when I called).

I came here to dine in after having a great take out experience. Celebrated my mom's birthday and we all had a great time. They are stroller-friendly, granted that you come at an earlier time to select your table. Soon after, the restaurant was packed! We couldn't believe that one waiter, I think his name is Carlos, was handling the entire restaurant. The woman at the take out desk helped as well. Operated like a smooth, well-oiled machine. Never once panicking, running and not a hair out of place as it got chaotic. Truly amazed and was so inspired that I want to apply this example to real life. Take things easy but in order, things will eventually get done. The food was delicious as ever. Came at a good pace considering there was a MASSIVE amount of take out orders and a full house. All the dishes were a generous portion and was more than enough for three adults, with plenty left to take home. Fried calamari - very good! Nicely fried but not too fried or oily. Great to share among three adults. Pernil - lovely. A variety of meat, some fatty, some lean, very tender and superb flavor without being too dry. Comes with moro rice. Bistec encebollado (steak with onions, rice and beans) - perfect. As someone who grew up with Spanish food, we love a nice bistec and this was done perfectly. Tender, thin, loads of flavor with nicely sauteed onions. Barely had to chew the meat, it was that tender. Half chicken - it was drier than the take out we had which was a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, the flavor was still on point. Add a bit of their amazing green sauce and all is right with the world again. Dining in has made me love this place even more. But I did notice the price was more expensive dining in than take out so I may stick to take out. My mom, husband and I all agree that it was good service (phenomenal job by Carlos - watching the multitasking and how the team works together in the restaurant was fascinating, probably one of the most coordinated efforts we have ever seen). We felt bad they were that busy that we decided to stack up our plates and cleared the table for them. Plenty of food for a good price. Meals for days!

That makes no sense, especially considering how quickly I called back. Even more concerning, when I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor, I was told there wasn't one available. That's unacceptable for any business. Instead of helping resolve a simple issue, they made it unnecessarily complicated. Customer service here needs serious improvement.

I was impressed by the large variety of options on this menu. I ordered an empanada to start followed by a mini bandeja. There was nothing mini about it! As you can see by the pic, portion size are not skimpy. Overall, the dish was good, only thing I would change was the steak. Had a little too much fat for my liking. But the chicharron and frijoles were great. The jugo de guanabana was delicious. Empanada was good too, though I would've liked a bit more of a flavor kick. They have a few tables and bar area for indoor dining and a covered section outside. Restaurant was busy, with customers dining in or picking up orders. Seems like a staple for the local community which is great to see. Service was friendly and moderately paced. Will return if in the area!

Why 4 stars? Because these arepas were different, but enjoyable…read more --- --- --- To-date, I apparently have only had Venezuelan arepas and wasn't aware of how different Colombian arepas were. Colombian arepas (or at least the ones here) come with a sweet, corn tortilla and are more open faced: to be eaten with a fork. In the past, I've had flour tortillas that are designed more like a taco and eaten as a handheld. So despite the differences, I (and my friends) enjoyed our meal. Let the official record state, I ordered the arepas con queso with chorizo. We had plans to eat our way through Jackson Heights, but because a couple of the places we planned to visit were closed, we actually just mostly hung out here and enjoyed our arepas of the sweet and open-faced variety. It was a good afternoon.

This was my first time trying an arepa, and honestly it was one of the best introductions I could…read morehave asked for. Before this, if someone mentioned arepas, I probably would have confused them with pupusas, which I'd only seen at street fairs and thought of as more of a sweet item. I had no idea they came in savory versions too. I went with the carne asada arepa, and the beef was fresh, juicy, and cooked just right. It's so common for places to overcook little chunks of beef, but here it was perfect. Each arepa is big enough to split between two people, so the price feels very fair. The filling was generous, with beef packed inside and even overflowing out the sides. They also serve the arepas with a rack of five or six sauces to choose from. Some were spicy, and one had a sweet condensed milk flavor if you like a mix of sweet and savory. My go to ended up being this green mayonnaise sauce which I assumed was like some sort of a lime mayo, which added the perfect tartiness to the rich cheese filling.
