Too all of the Texans who think their BBQ is wonderful, step back, take a deep breath and head north to Frisco. These guys beat 99.9% of all BBQ in Texas. And you get a song. They are only open on weekends and sell out fast. Make the trip, you won't regret it but you will be dreaming about it all week. Ask them about their 1st of the month etc specials. Trust me, you will be hooked. I eat things here that I don't eat at other places.

Three meat plate was the way to go!

Fall off the bone, finder licking good, DELICIOUS BBQ! Found these guys at the Frisco, TX Frisco Fresh Market and purchased my meal due to the beautiful aroma coming from their booth. They smoke all their meats right there on site and the farmers market is open all year long. Thank you for the amazing food!!!!

The Tu Bones BBQ food truck was located at Commerce and Houston today, next to the Federal Building. We heard through a coworker that they're kicking off their business. We got in line at 11:40, but waited about 30 minutes before getting our turn to order. I ordered the Tu Bones ribs, at $6 for two, with bread and a side when their potatoes wouldn't be ready for 20-30 minutes. I don't eat bread, but it looked so tasty. The side of beans was served in a sauce cup, and the serving was about one spoon. I'd rather pay a couple more dollars for a bigger side than the tiny serving of beans. Now on to the ribs. They were AMAZING!! I'm not a down to the bone eater, but I was working hard to get every piece of meat I could from those ribs. The sauce was on point, and the meat was soft and delicious. The coworker had the Big Dawg, which he assured me was delicious. It's a sausage on bread topped with brisket and slaw. I wanted some! With just a few tweaks, I think this BBQ business could reach legendary status. I don't think they were prepared for the turn-out today, but I do hope to check them out in the future to have more ribs and the potato!

Just some of the amazing food!!

I joined him. They are organized. One entry door is for Dine In, the other door for Take Out. The line def grew, for Dine In the line was already around the corner of the bldg by the time they opened - but a sign said they have seating for about 290, so a lot of ppl can be in there. for Take Out, you walk in & walk straight to the back. There are two cashiers there ready to take orders. After you place your order, you step back and hang out in that general area. You have an order number on your receipt, a staff member will come out of the rear kitchen & call your number when it's ready. The food. I opted to order a variety/sampler type order: 1/2 pound each of prime brisket sliced, pulled pork, jalapeño & cheese sausage, and pork ribs. Also ord'd two Texas Twinkies. Sides ordered were: potato casserole, fried okra, creamed corn, and broccoli salad. Then for four ppl ordered a pint each of peach cobbler and banana pudding. I was first in line for Take Out, I had the order, grabbed bread, & was in the car at 11:08. Nice & efficient they are. We got set up for the meal, and had a sample of all mentioned. I tried each meat by itself, and then later each one with sauce. The brisket and pork ribs meat were smoky flavorful, moist, and tender. Solid. But the stars of the meat were the jlpño-cheddar sausage & pulled pork. The sausage was cheesy with some kick (duh), but it also was physically more filling & consistency-wise thicker & heartier than any I can recall. The pulled pork had a coating or addition of something in it (a little bit of brown sugar, perhaps, that caramelized during cooking, etc?). Whatever it is, it works very well. First two meats mentioned were solid, the latter two were stellar. And then when eaten with the sauce added, they were all fantastic. Definitely elite tier bbq meat. This may be weird, but the Tx Twinkies have been around awhile, I've known of them, but had never eaten one til today. (I eat veg 99.9% of the time, & just hop off the wagon for one meal every so often on a special occasion, like today), so don't judge. lol the Twinkie was decent, I was expecting a different blend of all the flavors together - but that had to do with my forecast of the taste, not Hutchins' assembly or cooking of the product. Their execution was on point - all ingred in their proper place and cooked to a nice darkness & Sides: creamed corn is Dynamite! Broccoli salad very very good! Potato casserole in the A range. The flavor of fried okra was A range, but the breading was inconsistent on 10-15% of the (very large) serving. Liked it for sure, just noted on some minor issues of breading staying on the okra. Desserts. The peach cobbler texture-wise has more of (but not exclusively) a super moist cake feel to it - BUT do not let this dissuade you, the taste is straight-up deliciousness! No, it's not a traditional cobbler consistency, but don't split hairs - try it, you'll be very delighted you did. The banana pudding was standard fare as banana pudding goes. It was on par as any - not superior to any other, but also not less than anyone else's either. Out the door, incl tax, $125. Fed four adults to completely satisfied. Just over $31 per person. Overall, 5 stars, no doubt whatsoever! Wonderful meats, superb sauce which amplifies, flavor of all sides in A or A+ range, friendly staff & efficient operation. A strong recommend.

The food was good, if not the greatest BBQ I've ever had, but the overall experience was much fun. The restaurant is in the form of a large barn with ample seating and a walk-through line where you can pick out your meat and then any sides and drinks you'd like. I enjoyed having the "conundrum" of trying to figure out which of the meats to try as they stare at you from the smoker, all saying, "Pick me!" My first visit to any BBQ place is nearly always to try the pulled pork, figuring that if they can't get that right, nothing else is likely all that good. That's not always true, but since pulled pork is one of my favorites, it's a good approach anyway. :) I took my platter laden with an abundant amount of pulled pork and then selected corn on the cob, cole slaw, a slice of custard pie, and a sweet tea. After paying, I made my way into the main dining area and selected a high-top wooden table along the wall that was, shall we say, very awkward to sit at based on how the stationary stool was positioned in conjunction with the table, so I moved to a nearby regular table that was just fine. There's plenty of outdoor seating, but based on the temperature that day, I chose to stay inside. Digging in, I found the pulled pork to be good, but it was a little dry and salty. The standard house BBQ sauce was good, though, and the corn on the cob was very nice. The cole slaw was about what you'd expect, and the custard pie was tasty, even if it wasn't the best I'd ever had. The sweet tea was excellent. What I probably loved most, though, was eating all this in that environment, with the Texas-American paraphernalia hanging on the walls and a radio station playing nothing but 80s and 90s country music over the speakers--the years when I loved country the most. I wanted a BBQ experience as big as Texas while I was here, and I got that. For that reason, my visit to Hard Eight was a hit, and I will happily visit again on a future trip.

I got the smashed burger with hill country on bed of nachos, my wife is vegetarian so she got the grilled avocado with Fajita Cantina on bowl of buttered lime rice. Our friends got Brisket on hacienda and then had switch it to hill country as the hacienda had tomatoes in queso and bowl of buttered lime rice and smoked chicken with buttered lime rice. None of the entries had any flavor. Hill country tasted like only BBQ sauce and there was not even a hint of mole. Brisket was fine but damp rice made the entree subpar Grilled avocado wqs grilled and again the rice was damp. Smoked Chicken was hard as well. Appetizers were the only good part of experience. Waitress stopped by and asked us if everything was good, my wife said food was mediocre. There was nothing done to make it right. I managed to finish mine but rest of them left the restaurant without finishing and hungry. 14$+ for an entree and it lacked anything to write about. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone for the food or service.

I ate the popper, lb&j, and the cowboy, which I love (ate the smokehouse in the past and that's also a top choice). The PB&J - I'm a sucker for jam in a burger and the blackberry jam was refreshing and cool and paired great with the bacon in the peanut butter while still complimenting the meat. The Popper had a lot of rosemary lime aioli which was delicious to bite into. I've been here several times and narrowed down to my favorite 4. The sides (waffle fries, extra sugary drinks, onion rings) could be improved but while the sliders are pricy, they leave a great impression. Popper - Beef, fried jalapeño & cream cheese, pepper jam, bacon, cilantro, rosemary lime aioli - DID NOT ENJOY. Unfortunately the jam that this burgie came with just overpowered the whole thing and not in a good way. It did not mesh with the rest of the ingredients and the popper had no flavor or filling.
