Great service and very happy with the results. Was pricey but not nearly as pricey as it could…read morehave been with some other places charging $1200-1500 for data. My whole external hard drive crashed which I had everything on but was dumb and never set up automatic backups. The cost of my data was priceless on a 1T Drive by Seagate. I called around and priced several places. I even tried Seagate themselves but unless you signed up for the extended backup and warranty plan, the time was 3 months before you can get your data back. With Salvage Data, they price the service based on the time you place on them to get the data recovered. I went with 7-10 days and it was $600 and they supplied a new Western Digital drive and mailed it to me. When I opened the package, and plugged in, the data was in EXACTLY the same organization as it was on my computer. I have had this happen to a Memory Stick previously like 8 years ago and paid $500 to get it back and when I did, the data and files and folders were not organized the same and took me days to get it renamed and organized. Overall, these guys were very good, professional and simple. I dropped my drive off. It was back in my hands in 10 days. They didn't charge until the job was done. I highly recommend this company based on my experience. If you think $600 is a lot, I would be anxious to hear where you got a better deal than Salvage Data. BTW, if you have not already done so, you need to sign up for a subscription service for live back-ups of your data. In my research there were several top services but I found that Backblaze was best at $5 a month for unlimited data and computers in your home. Constantly backs up your data. For $60 a year given I have had a drive crash about every 7 years, its worth the expense and trouble and am sorry I didn't do it after my last mishap in 2007. Overall, in 7 years I have spent about $1100 in data recovery. I would have spent less than half that had I been using an online service.

Don't believe anything on their website. They will be happy to provide shipping of your drive to…read morethem and then they hold it hostage for unbelievable amounts. They don't respond to emails or phone calls. It is nearly impossible to speak with a person and when you do they are rude. Recovering a 1.5T drive $2700 if you want it in "maybe" a week or $900 if you want it in "maybe" a month. And this was after they had it for a week and countless phone calls, unanswered emails and chats with an employee who said they were busy and their timeframes were estimates. Don't waste your time with this company.

Brought in a overheating and dead Iphone. He was able to diagnose the problem and recommend a…read morerepair. Cost came in right in the middle of the estimate range. Thank you Mr. Fix.

Update: I was not contacted by the owner, and I have texts from the business refusing to refund the…read moreservice. They originally offered to refund the labor only or replace the part again, but after two failed installs, that wasn't a good resolution plan. I was able to get an approved dispute with my credit card company and was fully refunded. A reply to my review making it look like there was an attempt to refund me isn't transparent. Again, sometimes it's best to measure a business on what happens when something goes wrong, not just when everything goes right. A true measure of a business is how they handle things when things go wrong. I want to start by saying the actual service experience was good. Fast turnaround, friendly staff, and when my first screen replacement had dying pixels, they replaced it under warranty without any pushback. That part of the experience deserves credit. However, the second replacement screen was also defective. Graininess in low light, visible dark spots, and the screen would go completely black during phone calls. At that point I asked for a refund rather than a third installation, since I'd already spent enough time and didn't want to gamble again on the same part. This is where I think the real test of a business happens. Anyone can deliver good service when everything goes smoothly. What matters more is what happens when it doesn't. I had an independent diagnosis from Apple confirming the display issue, and the shop initially agreed to a refund on the condition that I return the old screen. The problem was that Apple, who repaired the phone separately, retains all replaced parts as their own property and doesn't return them to customers, a policy I confirmed directly and documented for the shop. In the end, the shop declined to issue a full refund and only offered a partial refund for labor, even though the part itself was the source of the defect, not the installation. I came into this wanting to be fair, and I gave the business multiple chances to resolve it. I think it's reasonable to expect a full refund when a product fails twice, especially when returning the part wasn't even possible due to circumstances outside my control. I'd recommend this shop for routine repairs based on their speed and friendliness, but be aware of how they handle things if something doesn't go as planned. They would reference that they work with the local Apple Store, but I spoke with the Apple Store and they have several customers come in after poor third party replacements and service.
