I had some troubles with this restaurant. Although our server was truly really nice and offered great recommendations from the menu, the overall functioning of the restaurant was far from optimal and my particular meal wasn't very flavorful nor worth the hefty price. I booked a table for our party of 4 at 6pm Three if us arrived on time to a relatively empty restaurant, with the fourth person 15 minutes away. We were hoping to get started on drinks. We were told no matter what we wanted to order, they could not sit us until our entire party was here, despite not being busy. When we were finally sat at our table, we knew pretty quickly our entire order, but the staff could not take our entire order at once. Although I really enjoyed the guava margarita (the Mexican part of the fusion restaurant) this resulted in us waiting 20-30 minutes before we can place our apps and mains...dragging out the entire sit in experience to over 3 hours on a not busy Sunday night! There were some highlights of the food, the spicy edamame was delicious and their fatty tuna special was very smooth. However my beef curry don was pretty bland, didn't have the typical starchy potatoes in Japanese curry, and beef was minimal. It definitely was not worth the 20+ charged for it. The sushi menu has some regular favorites, but also a few unique fusion rolls. I can't remember which one this is but had a shrimp tempura base which I usually prefer a non fried roll. The menu is very extensive and broad, but I think it's hard to excel at every entrée when there's so many options. We waited 4-5 min before being acknowledged once we enter the establishment, the host/ server which I later learned was one of the owners took my daughter and I to our seats and the ordered was placed at 8:15 pm. The food didn't not come out until a few minutes after 9:00pm. I am not sure if they were short staffed or what but that portion was a bit disappointing. For rolls we ordered the Haru, the Spicy Fusion, and the Tuna Fusion ( I think it was called). My haru was subpar... just nothing special, my husband said the same about his tuna roll. After sitting for over half an hour without our third roll, we finally asked about it and she brought it right away but a bit ridiculous. I didn't want to eat too much of my current roll bc I was looking forward to it so we kinda just sat... When it came, it was the tastiest of the bunch. I'd say 7.5/10 on that one. I got the mango margarita, which I was told on the sweeter side compared to the other flavors, but I like sweet anyways. But it was probably one of my favorite margaritas I've ever had! Then we got the lobster wontons to start off, the filling was creamy and delicious. After that, we shared the Lime Fusion roll, Chicago Blackhawks roll, and Fat Buddha roll. The lime fusion did have a bit of a kick, but that was probably because of the spicy tuna.
