This has always been my go to Chinese place. Im a girl who is used to Chinese food in NYC. Staff is always kind.

This place is a fake meat gold mine! They offer an extensive menu of vegetarian dishes ranging from vegetable based to fake chicken, fake beef, even fake ham and seafood. Definitely a must try if you are a fan of Chinese food and want some mock meats. Number 1 dish for any time you go: mock sesame chicken. Delish!! I don't really know what it is about this meal but it is so good. Tasty breaded fake chicken in a superb sesame sweet sauce. The meal is just the chicken and does not come with any side veggies. Best time to go though is Thursday night for the vegan dinner buffet! Seriously we almost go every week for this. The buffet has many entree options and is all vegan! Of course they have the mock sesame chicken but they also have so much more. The Peking mock chicken, sesame tofu, sesame balls, egg rolls, pepper potatoes are all top favorites! The hot and sour soup is also quite tasty with lots of peppery spice. Not all the entrees on the buffet are to my liking. The veggy beef is sometimes a little dry and I am not a huge fan of the fake seafood. This is of little consequence since this is a buffet after all. The staff here is always very kind and present. 10/10 My favorite asian place to eat in Boulder!! The staff is always super friendly here PLUS you get so much for the price. I always have left overs to take home. I'm pretty picky when it comes to good Asian food but Tsing Tao checks that box!! Definitely a the go-to Asian restaurant if you're looking for a big menu and some big plates I also recommend dining in since I found you get more food! The best part of our experience here was the quick friendly service. Our waitress was friendly and on top of it. The food on the other hand was unfortunately sub par Chinese food. I started with the scallion pancake which came out thick and doughy, similar to Navajo fry bread. Definitely not the flaky delicate pancakes I've had before. Next for me was Ma pao tofu. The dish looked and tasted as if it had frozen peas and carrots in it. The sauce was barely spicy and overall quite bland. The hubs went with pad Thai and it was so sweet that I could only do a bite. Same with every dish my friends ordered. Kung pao chicken and chicken with broccoli all tasted the same with no distinguishing flavors. read more

Visited here with my wife and younger son after his University of Colorado Rugby game on Saturday. We came because of it's being listed as a Chinese buffet - note that the buffet is at lunchtime, and there's a veg / vegan buffet on Thursday evenings. Don't be disappointed by no buffet at dinnertime. We almost went to the Indian place a few doors down but were glad we didn't. We each ordered the family special - a bowl of soup, an egg roll, a crab wonton and a fantail shrimp per person, and any of perhaps a dozen select entrees, with choice of rice, for $13.95 each. The entrees were huge and came out steaming hot. Each of the three of us had more than enough to eat and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their selection. There was enough left over that my son took quite a bit of food back to the dorm room for lunch or dinner the next day. Very reasonable prices and gigantic portions. This is great American Chinese food. The quality of ingredients is high and the woman who works here is a ray of sunshine. We order delivery at times and are always greeted with someone who is happy to see us despite our pathetic pj-wearing state. They have nice fried rice dishes, and I appreciate that they have vegan options. Their chicken dishes are nice if you eat meat. They also have an affordable lunch buffet that they keep fresh. I think one or two weekdays are vegan buffets. The only challenge is the food coma afterwards! read more

Unimaginative, low quality Chinese food. The people are super nice; maybe they should work at the Post Office instead and change the customer service paradigm there. But great food is not the forte here. Pretty sure sweet and sour chicken was out of a box from Costco. Same with wonton soup: purely wontons in chicken broth. Could I beg for a pea or carrot in the fried rice? A green onion in the Pad Thai?? Unacceptable for Boulder's foodie tastes The interior is dated and needs a major renovation. We came here for dinner and had two dishes, one was very good and the other very ordinary. The Szechwan chicken was delicious. Lot's of chicken with vegetables in a spice sauce. The orange chicken was doughy, without a lot of flavor. Service was attentive. Prices were fair. read more

This great place at the Table Mesa Shopping Center has the same name as the famous Chinese beer. I've been coming to Tsing Tao for 4 years now and have never been disappointed. They've got some good cooks who put together the right flavors into the different dishes. The stir-fried Udon, Shrimp Fried Rice, Pork Dumplings and Lo Mein are my go-to dishes, but I'll be trying other items on the menu over time. The owner lady is very charming and always stops by the table to say a personal friendly hello, even if she's really busy. Good food and warm atmosphere. Give Tsing Tao a shot ! read more

Friends told us about this place and we were really looking forward to finding someplace for good takeout. Ordered Szechuan beef and Orange chicken, two dishes that are supposed to be spicy - plus two orders of fried egg rolls. The egg rolls were skinny and filled with the cabbage mixture - no season, no flavor. Worse, both of the entrees were completely bland and tasteless. Wasn't just that they weren't spicy - they had NO taste. It's like the forgot to put them in the sauce and cook them. The orange chicken had no orange zest or scallions or anything in it. Just breaded chicken - and overcooked breaded chicken at that. Both came on top of some very overcooked, pale green broccoli florets. Threw away the leftovers - didn't want to make myself have to eat a bland mess of food twice. read more

My wife and I frequent this place for lunch monthly, and while their food is really great I ran into a conflict with the waitress / owner. I ordered Lemon Chicken which is usually great, but this time the chicken was rubbery and tasteless. I sent it back and the waitress copped a nasty attitude. She refused to replace the entire meal - giving me just half an order of lemon chicken - I didn't complain and paid the entire tab. I thought, oh well, Stuff happens so I'll let it go. The next time I ordered lemon chicken again the waitress balked, reminding me that I returned the last one and I probably would not like this one either. It's not like I was a chronic complainer ( I love lemon chicken), and I have never returned a meal at Tsing Tao. A good customer for over a year. After her protest she delivered our meals. She had the gall to give me half an order and when I asked her about it I got more attitude. She said, and I'm paraphrasing, "I told you not to get that! You were just going to return it anyway!" I expressed dissatisfaction but she could have cared less. BTW, she charged me for a full order of lemon chicken!! She lost two good customers that day as we will never return. But no worries! We found China Gourmet in N. Boulder and it's even better than Tsing Tao. read more

Avoid avoid avoid I got the dinner special. It tried the wonton, fried shrimp, wonton soup, Kung Pao delight (chicken, beef, shrimp combo). My fortune was right keep up the good work and I will be rewarded. Hopefully yelp reviewers will start actually giving places legitimate reviews so I don't find myself in this shit-uation again. Waste of $18 How? Does this place stay open? Does the kungpao delight taste so terrible? Did I end up here? As far as Americanized Asian goes this is some bottom of the barrel quality. The food is bland, lacks spice, and the fried rice was not very fried. Everything is covered in a really unimpressive sauce and yeah- not very good. The service/owner was nice enough but the food was so subpar. The meat is flavorless- the vegetables are flavorless. Someone please show these folks how to use salt and spice. YES! Being from Chicago, I really love hearty chinese food that hits the spot. We were coming home late one night and decided to grab some pick-up from Tsing Tao on the way home. We are SO glad we did! The egg rolls are great - the pork egg rolls are AMAZING. Delicious generous filling wrapped in thick crispy egg roll paper and perfectly deep fried. The Mongolian beef was spot on and some of the best I've had in a long time. The sesame chicken was great as well. The chicken fried rice had the perfect flavor. They were friendly, fast, efficient, and the portions were huge. We live in Golden but will be coming back up to Tsing Tao soon! read more

I finally found good vegan Chinese food! We got the vegan orange chicken which I probably wouldn't get again but was still good, and the vegan Mongolian beef which was so weird (in a good way) and exactly like the real thing. Our server, Huina, was so sweet, and brought us free soup since we had to wait a bit for the food. I'll definitely be back! read more

Such a perfect quarantine treat! We ordered jalapeño chicken (the BEST!), Szechuan chicken (delish!), and Szechuan eggplant (wonderful!). I ate the jalapeño chicken sauce at the end with a spoon ^_^ Pick up was fast and portions were ample! Very kind and dedicated owners. This business is a Boulder treasure. We recently moved to Boulder and we were delighted to find a Chinese restaurant that is so vegan friendly. We have been here a few times and the food was great the first time and each time since it has gone downhill. Today, we decided to give it one more try and have lunch here. We ordered off their vegan menu and the waiter quipped, "That is why you so skinny". As if when you order off the vegan menu you must be skinny which is not true at all. It was like a weird compliment, I think??? We tried to order the fried rice without egg and he told us they already made fried rice for today and it already has egg in it. WHAT??? How bizarre, since we have been in before and ordered it that way no problem. He then asked us what kind of soup we wanted, there is only one vegan choice but we have tried it before and it doesn't taste good so we declined soup. He argued with us that it comes with lunch, make a choice. All in all a very unpleasant waiter, we just wanted him to go away. When he did finally go away, after repeating our order implying that is all you are ordering, we discussed what had just happened and how uncomfortable we were and we decided the best thing to do was to leave. I honestly have never done that before but we just had to go. We will never go back. There are plenty of other places we can go and spend our money. read more

Their Vegan dinner buffet on Thursday nights are simply impressive. For 13.95 you get all you can eat and the selection is really extensive. I don't think I could even try all the dishes before I was just too full. They have Sesame 'chicken', mushroom dishes, fake pork, shrimp, and other fake meats. They had a couple of soups, salads, steamed veggies, and spring rolls. The only thing I missed was dessert. They had some fruit, but I would have liked something more traditional. Keep in mind a lot of fried food, and a lot of tofu. My tummy hurt at the end of the meal. Not their fault, I ate way too much and I don't usually eat that type of food. The vegan buffet on Thursdays is phenomenal. I go every week and crave it on every other day. I've never ordered off the menu, but I assume the food is just as good that way. This is a must-visit for vegans. Update: I've been a few times on non-buffet days. It's so good! They can do stuff from the buffet that isn't on the menu. The scallion pancakes are non-negotiable. This places is really epic. The owners are really friendly, the service is great, and the food is even better. The chicken tastes wonderful, and I am not a huge fan of chicken from Chinese restaurants. My wife and I originally came to this place because we read that it had a buffet, which is what we are used to from our hometown in West Virginia. This place did not let us down at all. Even when we show up near the end of the buffet (only opened until 3) they asked us what we would like to have and made it fresh for us. Nothing we ordered was as hot (spicy) as I was hoping, but the flavors were real and veggies fresh. I've only been here for the lunch buffet, but I like it. It's not huge, but I like that they still serve a hot shrimp and vegetable dish and sauteed green beans. They also serve both hot and sour and egg drop soups. The servers are always nice, but not overbearing, and you get free hot tea with the buffet. It's a tiny bit more expensive than another Chinese buffet on 28th Street, but the couple dollars more is well worth it! read more

Especially like the shrimp vegetable dish and the plenty of cold shrimp which is cooked and not at all mushy. Soups taste like soups should and good selection of lo mein , pad thai, sesame chicken and a beef dish, egg rolls etc. Reasonable pricing, $8.99 and if you check in with Yelp you get a free soft drink too.
