The dress…read morewas for a wedding that had been postponed for a year due to the pandemic, and when it was finally time to wear it the dress didn't fit. I was warned that a new dress would be cheaper, but I didn't want to risk it not arriving in time or the sizing still being not quite right. It was well worth the cost to have the dress fit perfectly. Oksana instantly saw the problems and got to work when I arrived at her shop. It took 45 minutes for her to pin everything in place, and I really appreciated her thoroughness and focus. In the end she had to hem it and take it in significantly at the waist and under the arms, which involved multiple layers of different fabrics, removal and reapplication lace appliques and an attached belt, and reshaping the entire top. She priced out each individual alteration so I knew exactly how much it would cost for each step. The turnaround time was very fast for how much work she had to do and how busy her shop is, and when I came back to try it on it was perfect. I received many compliments and plan on wearing it to future formal events.

    I called the Puritan Cleaner Patterson location at 7:30 am yesterday, 10/28/22, and asked the…read moreemployee, Sandy, if I brought my daughter's homecoming dress in to be streamed ONLY, if it would be ready to be picked up the the same day. Sandy asked me what kind of dress-details, sequins, beading, etc., I explained to her that it is a simple short strapless dress-NO SEQUINS, BEADING, EMBROIDERY, etc. I only needed the dress steamed to get the wrinkles out and the pleating in the skirt neat. She told me if I dropped the dress off to the Patterson location it was guaranteed to be back the SAME DAY THAT I DROPPED IT OFF, BY 5 pm. The dress was dropped off prior to 9 am, and the employee working the counter asked for my name and phone number--she told me I would receive a text message when the dress was ready--I did not receive any receipt showing that I dropped the dress off etc. At 5:15 pm I had not received a text message, notifying me the dress was ready for pick up or a phone call that there was a hiccup and the dress never made it back to the Patterson location so that it could be picked up. With the lack of communication from Puritan Cleaners, I called the Patterson location, where the dress was dropped off, ONLY FOR THE EMPLOYEE ON THE OTHER END OF THE PHONE TO TELL ME THAT THE DRESS, "DID NOT MAKE IT BACK TO THE PATTERSON LOCATION FROM THEIR CENTRAL CLEANING/PROCESSING LOCATION." My daughter's homecoming dance is today 10/29/22--WE DO NOT HAVE A BACK UP DRESS, NOR SHOULD WE BE REQUIRED TO HAVE ONE BECAUSE PURITAN CLEANERS CANNOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR GUARANTEE OF HAVING THE DRESS READY BY 5 pm, THE SAME DAY!! No one explained to me that they did their work off site--had they told me that, I would have used the dry cleaners in Carytown that does everything onsite, or gone and bought the best steamer I could and steamed the dress myself! I called back again 20 minutes later and spoke with the same employee who then apologized, and told me they wouldn't charge me the fee to steam the dress-REALLY, THAT ISN'T GOING TO GET THE DRESS TO ME ON TIME! The employee told me, "we had a lot of items that went out today and did NOT come back with the delivery from the central processing center, for the 5 pm pickup. I told this employee that Puritan Cleaners internal problems should NEVER BLEED INTO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND THAT EMPLOYEES SHOULD NEVER SHARE THEIR INTERNAL PROBLEMS WITH THEIR EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS PAYING THEIR SALARIES!!! She did tell me that she put a note in the computer for the morning employee to follow up on getting the dress back to the Patterson location TODAY-THE DAY OF THE HOCO DANCE!!! I asked her what time they opened today, Saturday, she told me 8 am, I told her I would be there at 8 am to speak with someone face to face and this would be resolved. The employee told me that IF the dress came back to the Patterson location, it would not arrive until the 10 am delivery. I assured her, regardless of that, I would be there at 8 am to speak to someone who was willing to work with me so that I could get my daughter's dress in time to wear to HOCO. It is 7:10 am now, the morning of HOCO--I will be at the Patterson location of Puritan Cleaners at 8 am and see what resolution we can come to in order to get my daughter's dress back to me by 10 am--OTHERWISE SHE WILL NOT BE GOING TO HOCO! Puritan Cleaners is a huge corporate dry cleaner and they have lost sight of the people that helped them grow their business--THE PAYING CUSTOMER. I will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN FOR ANYTHING--NEVER! I WILL SHARE THIS STORY WITH EVERYONE I SPEAK TO, AND STRONGLY RECOMMEND THEY NEVER USE ANY PURITAN CLEANER LOCATION FOR ANYTHING. Moving forward, I will ALWAYS drive the extra 15 miles to Bill's Cleaners and Laundry, in Carytown--I have used them for decades and NEVER HAD A SINGLE ISSUE WITH ANYTHING, AND THEY DO ALL THEIR WORK ON SITE! Bottom line, if you want your daughter to have her homecoming dress on time, DO NOT TAKE IT TO ANY PURITAN CLEANERS LOCATION!!! Just a note for the suits at Puritan Cleaners, you need to invest in your employees and teach them how to do a root cause analysis and how to trouble shoot and how to speak with customers when a problem arises. Taking responsibility and accountability is imperative to the success of any business, especially customer facing businesses. No customer should ever have to be burdened with a company's internal problems--if the customer was aware of their problems prior to choosing to business with the company, NO ONE WOULD CHOOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THE COMPANY. Puritan Cleaners--YOU HAVE FAILED ME AND MY DAUGHTER AND IT IS WHOLLY UNACCEPTABLE! Save your excuses and train your employees, and UNDER PROMISE AND OVER DELIVER, RATHER THAN OVER PROMISING AND UNDER DELIVERING.
