IM A predominantly gluten free eater, and totally VEGAN. I love Tryst because they literally have so many options to accommodate my lifestyle. RACHAEL is great at recommending options for me! She hustles and I love It! I highly recommend the veggie stack, beet salad, and brussels sprouts salad. Oh and the COCONUT GROVE cocktail is to die for! read more

Went here today for the third time. Not sure why I keep trying it again as it's never that great. Today, the sever was inattentive: forgot a side of bacon, dropped the top half of a croissant breakfast sandwich on the table and didn't offer to bring a new one; when o asked for change brought me 2 5's instead of a 5 and five ones (thereby forcing me to leave a bigger tip than I wanted). The breakfast sandwich was tasteless. No flavor at all. The buttermilk pancakes were decent so that's good. My corned beef has was okay; the hash was good but the eggs were not the way I ordered them. Normally the hash would have come with toast and tater Ris for $13.95 but I asked if they could omit both and just bring some sliced tomatoes. She said sure but the tots normally come for $4/side and frankly, I wanted something of "less value" but there was no price adjustments offered and the plate literally came with two slices of whitish-tomato which were hard as rock and flavorless. I'm short: Nothing about today was great... not the meal or the service, or the cost, and I don't know what we'd try it again. read more

We went for brunch and were all pleased with our meals. I ordered the Tryst Omelet and it was amazing. The pesto was fresh and the sweet potato tots were pretty amazing. They offered several gluten free options, which is great fo rme too. We sat outside though and there were tons of flys. Not sure how to prevent that, but it was very annoying. Our waitress was realy nice and knew her stuff. Parking was also pretty horrible. It took about 10 minutes to find a spot. read more

You must tryst my judgement and give this place a shoutout hallelujah! Highly recommended!

Fantasy food. Great service. When I first took a look at the menu I thought it seemed like every other brunch place in town. After eating there I can say that this is not the case. Everything was delicious! Will definitely return for future visits . read more

Loved our meal. First time at Tryst and the 5 of us loved the food. Staff was great! Waitstaff wore masks which I really respect and appreciate. Some of our favorites were pork sliders, humus, goat cheese salad, fish and chips and the burger. Great fries too! Definitely will be back. Can't wait to try breakfast. read more

The food was wonderful! All fresh and homemade. Would highly recommend! We will be back to try breakfast and excited for it.

Only been here for breakfast. Not a lot of bang for your buck here. A side of bacon consisted of 2 strips of bacon. Food extremely pedestrian. Not awful just average. Mimi's across the street is better for breakfast with more items. Just down the road snooze and perk blow this place outta the water ‼ read more

Great service and Ivy Love is an Amazing Bar Technician! She makes the morning very bright and worthwhile

I was disappointed in Tryst Cafe. I went to check out what had taken the place of the former sushi restaurant Celcius which I frequented. I ordered the portabello burger and my husband ordered the bacon burger. Our drinks were swapped when they were delivered as were our meals (I noticed this also happening to other patrons). The portabello cap was about 1/4 the size of the bread so my sandwich was all bread, except for the nearly whole Roma tomato that had been placed in my sandwich. The flavor was so-so. My husband said his burger was flavorful enough, but the brioche bread was all wrong and was soggy and falling apart from the burger sauce and juices. The fries were good as were the sweet potato tots. My husband had troubles getting refills on his soda and we went without seeing our waitress for what seemed a long time. I almost hoped another waitress would step in and ask how we were doing, but then I heard the other waitress hacking up a lung with a very bad cough. She should have been sent home, especially since she was coughing into her hand and then entering the kitchen area. Then one of the kitchen staff came out to the patio to take his break and was drinking a beer. I guess I'm a little conservative, but beer shouldn't be allowed on breaks. Our bill with tip was $27 and not worth a return visit. Tryst Cafe needs to properly train the wait staff or invest in some better help or they won't make it. read more

My husband and I have been on vacation for a week. We have eaten breakfast 4 times here at Tryst. I have had the Kale omelet and it's delicious. Warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent food. We will be back in March! read more

Went for breakfast last Sunday morning and service was horrible. Blonde waitress never checked back on us after getting food. My food was cold- how is it cold, your restaurant just opened for he day!? I had to ask a food runner or another waitress to heat up my food (after I ate almost 1/2 cus I was hungry but couldnt find the waitress). Only saw waitress return to bring check. Then took her 15 min to come back and get the payment. Overpriced mediocre food with crappy service. On a side note, how do you have a kids menu, high chairs, but no changing table in the bathroom? Common, spend the $100 or so to put one in. This really is a big deal to parents and your restaurant is in family community. read more

So good!! Fresh made to order ingredients!! Gluten free french toast, toast, pancakes and english muffins!!! read more

See all

Ordered the Tryst Benedict. Think salami type ham, giant caprese salad-style tomato, basil, egg on an English muffin. Plus Anaheim chile gravy like sauce. Presentation was okay, a little expensive for what it is $14+. Taste was average. Nothing special. The sweet potato tots that came with it were good. Here's the downside, a glass of fresh squeezed OJ is $5. That seems a bit high regardless of location. Close to my house, so I may try again sometime soon. They have Kombucha on tap and also press coffee cold brew on tap. So that's cool! read more

I'm gluten free and always have so many options here. The salads are fabulous and delicious. I've brought many family and friends here and they all have rave reviews as well. read more

Food is healthy and delicious here! It's hard to find a place that serves healthy options now days and they also have many gluten free options for those with gluten allergies. You can also have a drink if you'd like, organic and gluten free optins! Crazy, I didn't know you could also have a healthy drink, lol. read more

Reviewing the Cajun Ahi Tuna Salad (Portabella mushrooms, sautéed carrots, and some other stuff). I have been to Tryst at least seven times and each time I am very impressed with the quality of food that I receive. This last time was a take-out order and I have nothing but complaints about the $16 salad that I just bought. Problems: - Quantity of greens is far less than eating in house - Quantity of seared tuna was also less than eating in house - QUALITY of Tuna was atrocious** (Most frustrating part) The tuna was low quality and had white lines throughout each piece. These white lines are tough and are similar to the texture of ligaments in a piece of steak. The tuna, the most expensive part of the $16 salad, was the most unenjoyable piece of tuna that I have ever eaten (cooked, seared, and raw). I will go back, but only because I know of other menu items that are of quality... but I will not be returning as often as I have in the past due to the inconsistencies in the dishes (that I am more than happy to pay for, as they are of quality ingredients). This meal was not worth $16 and I was not satiated. read more

Love the places where the menu is all good! My go to is the Hawaiian Breakfast which is a bowl of rice, shredded pork and cabbage with a light drizzle of sauce. Enjoyed the original Bloody Mary which had a nice peppery taste to it! Nice spot to meet a friend! read more

We went to Tryst on a Sunday during lunch for a family member's bday. The menu seemed promising. I decided on the seared ahi tuna salad for myself and spring rolls to share. I didn't think to ask if anything I ordered was going to be hot. I assumed the spring rolls would be hot because I've never experienced raw spring rolls before and any time I've ever ordered a salad with some fish in it- the fish has always come out hot. This was not the case. Which is not a big deal but cold seared ahi tuna is not good. The seared part of the title is misleading. When something has the word seared, I expect it to be HOT... but that's just me. The spring rolls were tasty -I just did not expect them to be cold/raw. Nothing to write home about but it wasn't terrible. And my fiancé found a hair in his salad and I lost my appetite. read more

Just went in at 11 for Valentine's brunch with my hub because we saw this spot on Check Please. I told the hostess that it was a beautiful day and pointed to the patio where there was one clean table for 2 and a table needing clearing. She took us instead to the table closest to the door in the inside middle of the restaurant. What crossed my mind was that I was invisible to her. Positives: Great jasmine tea and Kale omelette. Negative: The meat lover's omelette should not have been served as is. The eggs and meat were overcooked. It had one small piece of cheese on the inside. It was as dry as a bone. I am very skeptical of a cafe that cannot cook eggs. I would fire or re-train whoever made that omelette. My Hub did say he will take me back and try again. Maybe some day. I wish he had ordered a burger. read more

We had the best experience at tryst cafe, out drinks were always full and my friends food had a minor issue that they corrected within seconds. I love the fresh, organic offerings of this restaurant! The mimosa with the fresh orange juice really hit the spot.

We've been to Tryst multiple times and have never been unhappy with the food or the service. Not that the food is amazing--but it's typically good. Parking here is always tight--and fortunately today is Sunday, so Wells Fargo is closed and we were able to park in their spaces. This review is straight up about the service received. Our server was Nathalie and she'll remember our party of six. First because we were a party of six with a reservation, and second, because there was a bug in my iced tea. I was little surprised at this since I had already started drinking before I noticed it. And I was little startled. Nathalie did not apologize, try to make the situation any better for me and did not mention this to the manager. Instead she told me to calm down, adding it'll be fine. Sure. That's what you might say after you apologize to the customer. Maybe you say that after you've been polite to the person who ordered a drink in your restaurant and did not expect it to come with a side of bug. Probably not the worst service I've ever received. But close. If this is how their servers are trained to treat the customers, I see no need to rush back. read more

First time, won't be my last. This is truly a gem tucked away on the west side or Tatum - Desert Ridge. Outdoor seating, with plenty of seating inside. Food was delicious, fajita sliders and special of the day chicken pesto pasta, both very good. I do wish the pesto would have come with at least a slice or piece of bread or breadstick. Service was friendly and efficient. Great find, reasonable prices for quality food. Happy hour menu looked nice with a lot of variety for drinks and food. read more

Well I hardly write reviews but the first thing I can say is Thank You guys for ruining our Christmas Eve! First off I have NO PROBLEM if a business decides to not be open on a pre holiday day. But... when you have put it out there that you ARE open and people make a reservation and count on that and plan on that, then you should commit to it! The week before Christmas I made a reservation. I wanted a place that was delicious and to make an impression. I got a call at 10 am Christmas Eve morning ,saying you decided to close early and even though we had a reservation for 2:30 your chef was taking last orders at 2:00. I was taken aback and didn't know what to do and needed to contact other family to tell them. However, I tried to call back to speak with the manager, I was put on hold and disconnected twice. We all rushed to get there from the west side of town at 2:00(in the rain no less)and upon walking through the door a gal rushed up and greeted us with."Just to let you know the chef is calling for last orders, because we are closing early". I explained whom we are and had a reservation, rushed to get there early, no one in our party(except me, I ate at your location in Chandler with my sister) has seen a menu. Plus, had been trying to reach them and was disconnected twice and would like to speak to the manager. She tells me "She IS the manager. I told her what happened THAT morning and how I did not understand how they thought it was ok to change someone's plans that they made ahead of time and made a reservation for. Her comment was "Well did you make your reservation on line?", I was like "uhhh yeah, why"? Her response..... "Well we don't really control what goes on on line and we didn't see it until this morning". I then told her to please tell me how this is my fault, my responsibility, but is now my families problem to deal with on Christmas Eve. She said that it was the owner's decision and she was just following orders. My response was "even knowing that we had a reservation"? She said yes. My husband was so mad and my daughter embarrassed in front of her company. I then asked for the owners name. Finally she responded with "Lisa" then I asked her last name and was met with a blank stare. That really sent me over the edge. I commented to her that "REALLY, she was NOT going to give me her last name"! Told her not to bother because I could definitely track it down. Looking over at one of the other employee's they looked very shock and it was not by MY comment. She then said "uh I was trying to figure out how she spelled it". I didn't ever ask her that. But I can tell you this if I was a manager at this place I would know both! And I DO know the owner's last name now(I found myself). My husband cut in saying to me "Hey honey it's Christmas Eve, they don't care let's leave. So thank you for getting my husband and I in an argument that night over this garbage. Merry Christmas to us! Not! We left to next door Humble Pie was happy to have our business and generous tip for the server! read more

Stopped in for lunch with a friend. I had The Affaire salad, which was good, and presented nicely. My friend ordered an omelette (they serve breakfast until 2:30), which she also enjoyed. Lots of great GF and vegetarian options on the menu. The decor is a bit uncomfortable and the inside could use a bit of a facelift. read more

This organic and health conscious restaurant has a kind of industrial look, with stainless steel tabletops, but it's not cold. The menu is imaginative and creative, with emphasis on "natural." My pork adobo tacos came with three light tacos filled with perfectly done pulled pork. I ordered salad instead of beans, and it had quality lettuce drizzled with very good balsamic vinegar. My wife's shrimp tacos were equally excellent. Service was friendly and prompt. Location is within walking distance of the MIM and the Desert Ridge Marketplace, and only a stone's throw from the 101 Tatum Road exit. Very convenient. read more

We ordered the house burger, spring rolls, buffalo chicken sandwich and brie appetizer all because they were gluten free. When the food came buffalo chicken was in a wrap--NOT gluten free nor was the hamburger bun. The brie was not warm and rice crackers same as you would get at Trader Joe's, pear on side along without fig. Leaves a lot to the imagination. I don't know how they can sell these fries, besides not being GF they are breaded and disgusting. Save yourself the trouble and go to Trader Joe's. read more

Tried this for the first time a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was nice and quaint and the service was good. I, especially, liked the menu and appreciated that they had a nice variety of gluten-free options. If I'm ever in that part of town during breakfast time again, I'll definitely go back. read more

I am only writing this because this is the third time this has happened to me in a row at Tryst. Their food is phenomenal, however, their service is the WORST I have ever seen. I live near Tryst and would easily go there every weekend for breakfast and during the week for dinner if they didn't make me feel like scum every time I went there. My first experience I sat at the bar and got breakfast. Was completely ignored the whole time and never once was asked how anything was and was only talked to to take my order. The next time, I went for a week night dinner with a friend. Since we were the only one in the restaurant, the service was OK. However, upon reviewing my bank account, Tryst added about $10 more on to the TIP portion of the bill. When I went back to the restaurant and talked to a manager, she said she would take care of it and do whatever it took to fix it, and she took my name and phone number. Well, it never got fixed and I never heard from her again. This past time this morning when I went in, sat at the bar again to eat breakfast, was not even asked ONE TIME if I wanted to refill my water. The only time I was asked if anything was OK was when my food was brought to me. After I finished my meal, I saw a waitress leaning on the bar and didn't even ask me if I needed anything. I had to ask a blonde waitress and she snarled at me after having an attitude with another coworker right in front of me: "Well what tables are MINE?!?" giving her an up and down look. This place is downright unprofessional, has no class, and I WILL NOT ever return. It's a shame too, because the food is amazing and I would have spent a lot of money there. My recommendation to you is if you want to leave happy and not aggravated like I am, DON'T GO TO TRYST CAFE!! read more

Great experience both times. Sat at the bar and the service was friendly and efficient. The food is awesome! Highlight was the corned beef hash with the sweet potato hash. Both the Tryst Benedict & the chorizo with eggs are full of flavor with large portions. We have only been for breakfast, but think it's a must try! We will definitely be going back to try more items on the menu. read more

We came in during a busy time there was a table available 10 ft from us. They insisted we stand while waiting for the kitchen to catch up to their customers, we could not sit, they would not allow us to sit and it was the most terrible customer service we have seen in a while. That was before being ignored. Never go back again! read more

Yeah, I agree with most of the reviews here. Food is super yummy, Service is poor. Patio is nicer than the dark interior for brunch. Come here if you are in no rush, and if you can let it roll off your shoulders when they get your order wrong, which there's a pretty good chance of. Five stars for food and two stars for service equals three stars. Plus, they take reservations for brunch which is nice. read more
