As a huge chocolate covered nuts fan, I can say that the cocholate-covered almond, cashew, and pecan pack is absolutely not worth it.

Went for fudge for my wife, fudge was not fresh and was generic bland overly sweet fudge. Sad.

We love all the snacks and coffee from there. The two gentleman in there were awesome and gave us plenty of samples to try. We bought lots of goodies to bring to work when we get home. You also get a free tote bag if you spend a certain dollar amount. read more

We came in here just to see what the place had. Their name was definitely eye catching! The staff was really attentive and nice. He had us try a lot of different things that actually enticed us to buy more than what we wanted. We didn't really we liked dirty white trash! Lol. It's a combination of chex, nuts pretzels covered in white yogurt. It was divine! I bought a few little boxes for myself and bought the giant tub for my friend since she couldn't afford it. My other friend bought some pecans and nuts. We tried the banana yogurt nuts which sounded weird but it was surprisingly very good. We ended up getting a few more bags of things and my friend's sister got a really nice shirt. It was a great way to end our trip to OBX- what a gem! I have been to North Carolina twice, and each time I have come here. This store is candy land for someone who likes peanuts, cashews, spices, hot sauces, and more! There are so many different flavors for everything sold here. I really like how samples are offered here. When it comes to hot sauces, I go for real spice. This place has some of the hottest sauces I have tried. The first one I purchased was the Mad Dog 357 Hot Sauce. Let me just say that this sauce was the hottest I have tried; I really liked the flavor in it like the garlic and onion. The customer service here was amazing! The gentleman was not a helicopter salesman. He was respectful and incredibly knowledgeable on how everything was made and what flavors went well with certain foods. The 2 ladies working at the store are very stingy with the samples. I asked for a sample of each of the different kinds of nuts and they gave me 1 nut of each kind of flavor. After I had one but of each kind, I wanted to narrow it down to the two I liked the best and asked to re-sample 3 of the flavors. The African American lady then said to me something like "you had your samples, those aren't for having a meal!" How rude. I wonder if the owners are setting this short sighted culture or if that lady is just horrible at customer service. Great salesman. Wish I knew his name. My hubs and I visited (3/24/22) and it was just what you'd expect: a shop that sells nuts and a little side of nuttiness to go with it. The salesman asked to help, asked a few questions, made some jokes and offered some samples. He wasn't wrong in hitting our tastebuds on the head. We like spicy and he made some great recommendations. We left with a full nut sack. And these nuts don't disappoint. They're not greasy, not too salty, and definitely the right crunch we were looking for. If we ever make it back to OBX, we most certainly will visit again. Stumbled oppon this store in kitty hawk NC. The name TRY MY NUTS caught my attention. The marketing is genius. So I had to stop and check it out. Try my nuts is... You guessed it a nut shop. I will let you know there nuts are a step above just store bought nuts. I wouldn't call them gourmet nuts. But... They have a lot of different types and flavors and funny names to there products. I ended up purchasing the honey toaster pecans. The nuts are really good. The 16oz pack of honey toasted pecans cost $15. They are very good. I would def recommend getting these. I also bought a smaller pack of the cinnamon coated nuts. They are good as well. They use real cinnamon. The nuts are completely covered. Overall. I do recommend coming to the try my nuts store. It's a great beach snack. The 16oz is a lot for just me. It should last me 3 weeks or more. I will be back. read more

Expensive and with variable quality, just be careful. Our recent purchase of a bag of Butta Toasted Peanuts were about 25% rancid. That is a big no-no with us, especially for the price. They also were not good quality peanuts to start with. The pecans of the same coating flavor were delicious, I must say. My rating is for serving poor grade, rancid peanuts at this price. If you want butter toasted peanuts, go to High Cotton or find one of the great companies in Wakefield, VA and order some. read more

This place is kinda awesome. Even though they're a "Nut Company", they sell a lot more than just nuts. They have a "Wall of Fire" dedicated to just hot sauces, many of which haven't even been tested for their heat level. They also have cake mixes, spices, and candy. One of their most famous things there is something called "White Trash", which is white chocolate covered pretzels of various shapes. They also have "Dirty White Trash", which is milk and white chocolate covered pretzels. They're packaged either in plastic trash can containers, or polka-dotted plastic bags and tied with a piece of twine. The best things here though are the chocolates and fudge. They make all of their fudge in store, and I saw them taking it out of the pan and putting it in the case. I bought a sea salt truffle (and no, it's not OBX sea salt, I asked) and it tasted delicious with a great salt flavor and mild coffee after taste. My family bought two squares of the Samoas fudge, which really does taste like the Girl Scout cookie. I've been a Girl Scout my whole life, so that's saying a lot! Supposedly, there are samoa cookies on top of the fudge, but I couldn't find any. The first time we visited, the person behind the counter was rude, but the second time we went, service was great! This place is part of my new favorite shopping center in OBX. read more

They don't have hot nuts roasting, or a ginormous sack for you to scoop up here a majority of it is already packaged, If you are looking for that kind of store, this is not it. This spot has different creations you can enjoy for example a cashew.. Wasabi flavored , or garlic flavored. (which by the way were great) Creative nuts, mixed nuts, all different from sweet, to roasted, to even plain. Great for any kind of event from relaxing at home watching a game or to give as gifts. It can be a little pricey pending on the nut you choose, different nuts have different prices. Great for tourists who want to bring home different varieties of nuts, along with souvenirs for you to pick up. Along with this nut shop they also make different kinds of homemade fudge that can be tried also. Hot sauce in a locked case, very expensive, very potentate. Knock you on your ass types of extracts that needs to be locked up and only for the serious buyer. In all this is a great tourist spot, with a friendly greeting to go with. Lots of flavored nuts (peanuts, pistachios, cashews etc. ) ranging from salted, seasoned, spicy, and even sweet pretzels, bread sticks...t-shirts and if you're into collecting crazy versions of hot sauce, this is the spot. I should've gotten that hot sauce with Saddam Hussein that has a pic of him farting/smoke coming out his rear and it reads, "WEAPONS OF ASS DESTRUCTION" and GWB saying "I knew he had them". Bottom Line: Nuts, hot sauces and various touristy items with a risqué theme. Admittedly, when I was 20 years old I found "Try My Nuts" inclusive of the scrotum inspired peanut character amusing. Fast forward 15 or so years and I'm a lot less amused by this novelty shop and the branding. However, I will say that the employees here are very friendly, engaging and helpful. They are true salesmen and as much as I think the young lads are dying to ask customer to try their nuts, they instead ask if you'd like a sample and keep it courteous and professional. If you want real nuts, you'd be better off finding someone selling boiled peanuts on the roadside. A group of men walked in and the owner's tiny male ego became instantly fueled because he thought he now had an audience, asking them if they "want to try out one of these women" ? The guy running the store was rude and he wasn't helpful, and after about 5 minutes he was trying to rush us out. He asked my friend if he was walking in circles for some ridiculous reason, the store is already small so we didn't have a choice. He was implying/trying to make us leave early. We weren't done looking, everything is overpriced, 17$ for a small bag of nuts. We were thinking about buying something, but because he didn't want our business we decided to leave.
