This store reminds me of Macys in a way. The swimming suits pretty expensive especially for bathing suits. But there are a lot of things tossed around in areas of the store. It's not a very organized store. I was able to get my bathing suit for 50% off which was very nice. I am very happy with my hot pink bathing suit I purchased. The lady at the customer service station was very nice and friendly. If you're looking for a good discount on a bathing suit, you should check this store out before they are all gone. read more

The fashion police need to be called to arrest this store. The styles here are so dated. Are we in the 80's with this neon and pastel? I was hard pressed to find one garment to fit my boho look. Most of the jewelry was cheap looking, and the most of the clothes were not good quality - off brands void of trend or flair. There was a "fine jewelry" section which had some nice pieces. Also, there are a few name brands that might lure an unsuspecting shopper in the door... (Michael Kors and Dooney bags, Clinique and Estée Lauder makeup, Jessica Simpson, Vionic shoes) but not enough current styles to hold my interest and the items they do carry in these brand names are very limited. I will say, my friend got a cute pair of jeans originally $58 for $20. The dressing rooms are small and dirty, hand prints on the doors, clothes piled everywhere. Understaffed and the employees they did have were zombies. The girl at the register looked so bored I almost checked her pulse. None of the dozens of coupons they emailed my friend worked, so many caveats. Lame. Don't give your email unless you want junk clogging your inbox. If frumpy is your style, this is your store. And one more thing... why have a home décor/seasonal "section" with two tables of items? It you don't have the space to have a proper home goods department, don't have it at all. Everything was so tightly stocked, you could hardly move. And with that, I'm moving on. Blech is more like it. read more

6/22/20 I have been to Belk and had better experiences then, than now. Yesterday was just a sad version of its self. The store was practically empty, the caution tape on the windows make the place look like a crime scene from all of the CSI shows. Gil Grissom Mac Taylor and Horatio Caine would be sadly disappointed. This place was more on fire during the days without the Coronavirus. The fact that you can not try on clothing is a major reason most people were not in the store. This is not the store's fault, but it is costing them business nonetheless. The prices are up there, but not so high as not to by them. The catch is, you have to use a coupon to get the discounts that are being offered. This is the Belk way of today. This buliding for those who don't know, this use to be a Kohl's Department Store. It has the look and feel of Kohl's, but that is about it. The store has good quality clothing, but since you can't try on clothing or go to the fitting rooms, shopping here is not worth it. Still, I saw some noteworthy clothing styles that I could see myself or my characters Peters wearing. Guess we might co.e back here again, but the question is when? read more

Pray tell, what's a Belk? Sorry but coming from eastern PA I had no idea what a Belk is as there are no stores within at least a hundred miles of where I live. My first impression was that it is a comparable hybrid to a mid-sized family named chain that we do have in PA called Boscov's plus a little bit of Kohl's. Why those two? Like Boscov's you need to pop a Klonopin before you enter the store or else the claustrophobic anxiety of having that much stuff in every aisle/row/space will likely eat you alive. Like Kohl's this place apparently offers a million different coupons that have a million different exclusions. I mean who knew that you couldn't get that extra 10% discount on a spatula because Jaws didn't win the Argentine tango round on last nights Dancing with the Stars just because she ate another partner during rehearsals? I will give credit to this Belk in that at Boscov's you are hard pressed to find many shoppers under the age of 70 as the clothing skews towards things that only Dorothy Zbornak could pull off but on the day we briefly visited there were plenty of younger-middle age people in the store. Let me cut to the chase. I'm not going to say that I'm able to write the definitive review of this store because I've only been there once and I hate shopping but this is what I do know: My wife and daughters had 90 minutes to kill before our movie started across the street and while I resigned myself to my fate, after 30 they said they were done due to the messy/disorganized displays and the less than ideal pricing. Belk is like a TJ Max, Marshall, and Khol's all in one. This particular location has great deals and great selections. You can get a lot of name brand clothes on a steal when they go on sale or clearance. read more

I would do a review but I have tried 2 times to go shopping and both times it was closed and didn't open till 11am. Please change your hours on Yelp to accommodate the off season shoppers. A bit frustrating. read more

Only been to fine jewelry so I can't address the rest of the store. Bought several rings. Young man who waited on me was very patient while I made my choices. He also took the time to explain what a man made sapphire was. Only reason the rating is not five stars is their weird checkout process. They don't have a dedicated check out area so customers go to any counter to pay. This was very distracting while I was trying to look at jewelry. The salesman stayed with me but I could tell people waiting were getting annoyed by having to wait. read more

I love Belk. The bigger stores, like the ones in Durham or Raleigh, reminds me of Dillard's. However, the particular location is a bit smaller and is more like Macy's...limited selections, especially in the Men's Dept. Check out the Red Camel brand. Seems my partner and I shopped here at a good time because it was sales galore. Got myself a nice outfit and my partner a new swimtrunk. Save nearly 50% on my total purchases. We visited Belk yesterday and out of my 20 years of shopping at Belk's all over the country, this was by far my best experience! The plus size selection was the best I have ever seen!! This place is ridiculous. They are understaffed and the staff the do have do not know how to do their job. Literally waited 30 mins for the cashier to figure out how to use the register to check some one out that had only 4 items. They really need to learn to be more efficient because they just lost my business and with Target opening up across the street, I highly doubt I will even ever come back. read more

I drove to the Belk in Nags Head from Currituck and was so extremely disappointed. They have no organization whatsoever I was looking for a bathing suit the sizes the styles the designers are all mixed together and shoved on the racks worse than shopping at Walmart. I love this store for most of my clothing needs -sales are awesome but don't bother with coupons as they have a gazillion restrictions and if you're a guy like myself and need shoes -forget it! Smallest selection of shoes for men of any Belk I've ever been to and they don't even have sizes on displayed shoes. Sad because otherwise it is a great store! Stopped in here while at the beach. I wasn't really looking for anything particular, but they had a great sale going on in the Men's department. This store is way bigger than the one in E-City. They had lots of Polo, Nautica and many other popular brands. I had a discount coupon to add to the already sale price. They do have a lot of exclusions on those coupons, so you have to read it carefully. Even if you don't wear glasses, you may need some to read that fine print. After looking at hundreds of items I finally bought a pack of socks. Not much you say, but these were extra thick Gold Toe brand and I had been looking for these for about a year. Since most of the Gold Toe outlets closed I've had trouble finding these. I was happy and got a great deal. I'm set and ready to dance as these will be very comfortable with my dancing shoes. read more

This is actually a cool department store. Kinda reminds me of other department stores (JC Penny, Kohl's, etc.). The prices weren't bad especially for name brand clothes. We were able to pick up a few last minutes quality items while on vacation without breaking the bank. The store was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. read more

Your basic Belk. They expanded the store, but it's packed to the gills with stuff. I always find something I want. The employees are few and far between, so checking out is a bit delayed and stuff is just kind of put back where ever, so prices are wrong a lot. read more

They don't even deserve the one star I gave. Customer service was awful. Walk to first register I saw with a return. Looked around, finally saw a woman walking very slowly towards me. Thought she was just another tourist the way she was dressed. No name tag to tell her apart from shoppers. Walked behind the register, started punching keys. Never a word was spoken. No greeting, how can I help you NOTHING! After punching a few keys she finally says "oh is this a return ". No more words until she said sign this. Very poor customer service. read more
