But they also carry more stylish and popular brands like Vans, Sperry and Nike. Since they are located at the beach, they have plenty of summer footwear including Olukai slip ones, Sanuk flip flops, and Rainbow sandals. The owner of this store is named Billie, but Jean us not her lover....okay, ever since Billie sang a small portion of that song, it got stuck in my head. I don't know how many times I have been in this store, but come this September, this store will be closing its doors forever. The Coronavirus outbreak really put things in perspective for Billie and will close some time in September. So "Try to remember the kind of September When life was slow and oh, so mellow. Try to remember the kind of September When grass was green and grain so yellow." If you do remember this place after September, it will be in memories...yes all your troubles will be do far away. No shadows hanging over you... Okay, my mind is going in all different directions. Billie has a good store here and a fun crewmembers. It is a shame the store will be closing its doors this year, but Billie does sell cool clothing and other accessories. I enjoyed our talk with Billie. We had not used it and attempted to return it (folded, stickers and tags still attached) only to be met with a strong "no, you're not allowed". We had bought it the day before and had the receipt which clearly states that returns are allowed within 30 days. On top of this when we checked out we requested to split the payment down the middle (so we could pay half-half) and the lady at the counter said yes, but when he put his card onto the machine it paid the full amount. It was very annoying that the lady at the counter didn't know how to work her own checkout machine. Never go to this store.

However, the timing of shopping the day after Thanksgiving was not so appealing since I do not like crowds. The fact that I needed new boots for weekend hiking outweighed my fear of crowds and closed in space. So I set off for the Tangiers outlet mall in Nags Head mid morning not knowing for sure what I would find. What I found was impossible parking, the lot was packed. But I am a sneaky in these situations and stalked my victims coming out of the stores like a lion cat watching it's prey. It only took about 10 minutes and I located someone approaching a car and waited, then pounced. It just so happen I found a parking spot right in front of the store and proceeded to the sidewalk. The lot was clean, the walk was clean and it was a cool crisp day to buy some new boots, hopefully. Just as I suspected the store was mobbed with customers. Enough room to maneuver around and located what I was looking for. It took just minutes for a clerck to actually acknowledge me and ask if she could help. Okay...impressed immediately. I told her what I was looking for and she directed me to a few styles, gave me the info on the incredible 50% off. I am a picky customer, so it did take me a while to figure out design and sizing. But the clerk stuck with me and provided several styles and different sizes all the while it was nuts in the store. After around 35 minutes I was satisfied and told clerk we had a winner. I am sure she was relieved and excited to get a pair of $129 boots for $65. Check out by another clerk was smooth and I was on my way in minutes. I would have never expected this experience on such a busy day and was both surprised and impressed with the staff. This is my very first pair of Merrell's and thus far they have been great.

While the shoes themselves were pretty pricy the staff made sure that we took advantage of every discount available.
