These people are amazing. My son dropped his ring under the skincare display and they took the time to help him get it out. The worker, Jessica, took the time to get different tools to help coax it out from under there, then the manager Candy helped and we finally got it out but they didn't have to do that and it was so kind, my kids will forever remember that and be grateful. The cashier/ manager I believe (another manager) ; Josh was so kind and considerate it was a great experience. You should definitely chose this location for an amazing crew of people, neat store and wonderful selections! I would so work here if I were closer they are awesome. The customer is NOT ALWAYS RIGHT at this location in Nags Head, NC. Before I brought in my return I looked up the return policy online to make sure I followed the rules but when I arrived at the store I was told something very different than TJ Max policy. I didn't have my receipt and according to policy I would get store credit however this store said I also had to provide the sales tags. Who saves sale tags?! When I asked to go find the same shoes they told me that wouldn't matter either because they wouldn't have the same numbers. YES THEY WOULD! SKU numbers stay the same on the same items! I had to ask the girl behind the register to move her hair so I could see her name. When I asked Hannah B. if they could look up the purchase on my credit card history they also told me they couldn't do that. Oh, but they can. They just didn't want to help me! The manager finally made the girl go look for my items. She came back with one of them and offered no assistance on the other. Hannah spelled my name wrong on the store credit. Never said thank you and made me wait for her to restock her hangers before offering to help me. Not too classy. I had to call corporate to take care of my return. This is the worst Tj Maxx I have ever been to. I'm not giving it a 1 star cause they had a good selection of dresses/ clothes in my size... But for a BEACH TJ Maxx you would think they would have different stuff there. Maybe beachy things? Nope. It 100% is not worth going to unless you're just looking for your basic things, maybe some clothes but nothing special at all. read more

TJ Maxx is one of those guilty pleasures I developed as a college student. I'd wander in with no intentions of buying anything and walk out with my arms filled with random kitchen doodads, candy and cookies, home accents, and maybe some decent cologne at a good price (if I was lucky). The problem with these stores, across the board, is just that - if you find something you like, you usually have to buy as much of it as you can carry because there's a chance you'll never run across it again. In that sense, it's sort of like the awesome stuff is discounted overstock from other stores, and once it's gone, it's gone. This store was much of the same - everything was clean, mostly organized (hard to knock the store on that when I see customers putting things where they didn't come from), staff members are friendly. It's just that a bulk of the "business as usual" items there don't catch my interest and the random finds seem very impulsive because I'm not sure if I'll run across them again. That said, of course I'll drop in again when I'm nearby - I'm just never sure if I'll leave disappointed by the "same old same old" or wowed by an unexpected find. A great chain to visit if you'd maybe like to sample something you'll consider ordering online in the future. It's worth a shot at the prices TJ Maxx has to offer! Recommended for those with quirky interests and some free time on their hands. read more

This is the worst tj maxx I have ever been to. I am a frequent customer at tj maxx in KY and I love the store. When we came down to Nags Head for vacation I was super excited to see my favorite store, but my excitement was quickly morphed into disappointment. I went to this store on June 1, 2019 at around 8pm and I was looking forward to trying on swimwear. I picked three bikinis and decided to try them on. I walked to the dressing room and asked to use the dressing room. The lady was VERY rude, I couldn't believe how mean she was. She acted like she would rather be anywhere else in the world and that I was bothering her. So I go to try my swimsuits on and the first room I go into won't shut so I go into another one across the way, and there is no latch on the door. I finally find a suitable room and try my things on. After finishing I walk out and try to hand the woman the items that didn't fit. She just keeps her back towards me. She finally turns around and I put the swim suits on the desk and she proceeds to tell me "Those don't go there. Nothing goes on that, don't ever put anything there". I was just trying to help by putting the items there but it's fine. I put the items I was going to buy back and walked out. I am just disappointed in a store that I love so much. I won't be back to this store and I just hope that that lady finds some happiness in her life so she doesn't have to ruin others. read more

it's not a good place. it's always busy and never slows down. they always leave one cashier up to take all the heat. management also sucks and doesn't help with anything. i use to work here and it was awful. read more

I know this is a beach town and late in the tourist season and you open at 8am but be a little bit friendly. From a fellow N.C. resident, people will wonder where the saying "southern charm" came from. Loved the store, the staff needs an I service on customer service and not being annoyed. read more
