The cashier greeted us, was enthusiastic about the merchandise being offered, helped me find EXACTLY what I was looking for, and best of all? The prices! For the quality, very reasonable! Totally blown away! The clothing section, while small, was stuff one can wear "back home" . The accessory selection was just as nice. I'm a "jeans and t-shirt" kind of gal, not a "boutiques" type at all. I went in, out of curiosity, expecting to be greeted by an over-made-up, very bored associate, and way overpriced items. I'm giving more stars than deserved because they do carry beautiful unique good quality dresses at affordable prices, but I just feel so unliked walking into this store every summer and unfortunately my daughters are old enough now to realize they don't feel welcomed here either because a white person will walk in seconds after them and they are treated well with a big hello. I had my white husband and his sister walk in after us as well and wow were they treated way different from me and my darker skinned kids.

The owner of this store is named Billie, but Jean us not her lover....okay, ever since Billie sang a small portion of that song, it got stuck in my head. I don't know how many times I have been in this store, but come this September, this store will be closing its doors forever. The Coronavirus outbreak really put things in perspective for Billie and will close some time in September. So "Try to remember the kind of September When life was slow and oh, so mellow. Try to remember the kind of September When grass was green and grain so yellow." If you do remember this place after September, it will be in memories...yes all your troubles will be do far away. No shadows hanging over you... Okay, my mind is going in all different directions. Billie has a good store here and a fun crewmembers. It is a shame the store will be closing its doors this year, but Billie does sell cool clothing and other accessories. I enjoyed our talk with Billie. The bright pink paint paired with the classic black and white striped awnings has had me curious for a long time. At last, I finally had the chance to stop in Miss Lizzie's. Immediately upon walking into Miss Lizzie's I noticed all of the colorful clothing. Beyond offering women's clothing they also have shoes and accessories so you can really deck yourself out here. The styles kinda remind me of Chico's but with more variety and color. I saw a lot of pieces that looked comfortable and sensible but still fashionable. Based on the name, I was expecting the merchandise to be targeted towards the 30ishand under crowd but that wasn't the case. Last June, on our anniversary, my hubby and I slipped down to the beach and stopped in, it's been over 50 years now. We bought six items of clothing, and I'm super pleased with all of them. The sweats for me (lovely willow color with a zippered crop top) look great on me, they're soft and wash well. I've worn the black cropped knit sweater many times, it really dresses me up. The hubster got three sweat shirts, and they all fit REALLY well. Not too snug, not too baggy. They look good, feel good, and wash well. We've planned a little day trip to the coast to add more of these quality clothes to our wardrobe.
