I know it's tricky with vegan treats but this went well with tea GF/VG plain Jane - love the rainbow sprinkles and didn't feel it was anything plain but the same ia cute. Also went well with tea. The shop itself was very cute! Some couches and chairs to sit alone or a small group. Great for a meet and greet foe clients or a friend to just sit and talk. Next time I will come back to do that and order some tea or coffee. In the summer time I will try their ice cream! You can taste the soul and love in every bite. The cakes are denser than regular bakery cake, as pound cakes should be. But they are also moist and just perfect. I loved everything we got, lemon pound cake, pound cups in the flavors of coconut (their best seller), strawberry shortcake and strawberry, lemon cheesecake with a crunch. Overall, my favorite were the coconut pound cups. I'm really loving coconut cakes right now. We picked up an orange cranberry dream bar, studded with plenty of white chocolate chips, coconut, and dried cranberries, topped with orange cream cheese frosting and more dried cranberries. It was *enormous* and easily served as dessert for four. Also in our order: a streusel topped blueberry cake, as moist as could be and filled with fresh blueberries. It was also generously proportioned, large enough for at least two. We didn't try any salads, breakfast platters, or sandwiches on this visit, but they looked fantastic, based on what I saw on other customers' plates. I found that the super friendly owners are of Lebanese descent when I asked about the Lebanese baklava at checkout -- and evidently, they sometimes have Lebanese meat pies on offer! I cannot wait to come back to try every Lebanese food item they have, since my family is passionately fond of the cuisine (and really, everything else, too). I had no idea such riches could be found in Torrington! You can't throw a rock without hitting an Italian-American in this town -- not that I would ever throw a rock at an Italian-American :) -- but this is the first I've heard of a Lebanese-American contingent in these parts.
