When on the phone, he was very personable, asked questions to learn more about the issue, and even explained in detail his thought process. It was very transparent in terms of what the service and price would look like. He had me call another number to get scheduled which I was able to do very easily. They got someone scheduled at a date/time that was convenient for me, and someone showed up right on time. I had a faulty bathroom fan that was going to be an electrical hazard. Thanks to them, they were able to replace that fan, install a new switch for the bathroom, and even create a new airway for the vent through the roof. I didn't even know I needed all that done, and they were able to do it quickly and efficiently. As the homeowner of a rental property, I was not there when the work was being done, but the technician Justin, was great about calling me when he was on the way, calling me when he was able to diagnose the issue, and texting me when the job was done. Again, very transparent and I could tell this whole team knows what they're doing. My tenant also had great things to say about Justin when he was at the house. She showed me the work he did and explained how thorough and quick he was. This is probably the best experience I've had with a technician for any house work that I've needed to get done. I would highly recommend Steven, Justin, and the whole team, and will hire again!

In no time at all, he diagnosed and fixed the issue with our AC drain line and, on top of that, explained everything to me and showed me how to fix this same issue myself in the future. As if that wasn't enough, he pointed out (politely!) that we were using the wrong size furnace filter--and replacing them more often than needed. He told me what size we should be using, and why, and where to find them. I could not be happier with these guys, and will absolutely be using them again for any and all of our HVAC needs.

Everyone in the crew was clean and neat in appearance and arrived right on time. They were coming and going throughout the day and there were a bunch of them, including Tony Lescanec and Jim Thomason, and they were all really great guys (I say "guys" because I saw no women on site). I'm the type that wants to know stuff and I asked a lot of questions. They were always courteous and friendly in answering everything I "needed" to know. After the install, they went over each piece with us, including the new fancy thermostat. The system is fantastic - it's so quiet - and it works great! I can't wait to see how it does during the upcoming HOT summer months. Btw, they left the area rather clean, save for a couple of pointy screws. Great work by the team from Roth Home. Our AC unit went out towards the end of May, and I had a friend refer A1 to me. So I went online…read moreand did the whole "Contact Me" selection, saw that they did free consultations. Great. Jerome comes out that Saturday (30th), I give him as much info as I have, we'd only been in the house for a year, and not really had to use the AC, so weren't sure about the history, but it didn't seem to have issues, until it stopped working. I left him to diagnose, and half hour ish, he comes in and tells me it was just completely out of coolant. Easy fix, he'd already filled it, I paid him, problem done. I asked if there were any other issues, he said no it's just an older unit, and I asked him if it'd still be good for the next 2-3 years, so we could save for a replacement, he said it should. About 3 weeks go by, and it stops working again, no idea why. So I ask my husband (who is home during the days) to get ahold of Jerome, and see if he has time to come out to look at it again. He calls, the first number on the business card is not Jerome, but someone who used to work for him. So he calls the other number, and leaves a message. Jerome calls back, and says he's out of town... that was pretty much the end of conversation. We ended up calling Milwaukie Heating, who comes out and looks at the unit, gives us a very thorough quote. Come to find out that there is a whole (puncture) in the liner of the unit. (I don't know if this is the technical jargon, this is just what I got from my husband). The hole was big enough that it should have been noticed prior to having the coolant filled (which is all A1 did), and the tech from Milwaukie said that it should have been communicated to me before the unit was filled. So we have the repair quote, and the quote for a replacement unit, and I called back A1, thinking it's been long enough, maybe Jerome is back in town and can come give us a price quote on a repair, since he initially filled the unit, and I feel like it was something he should have caught, so I wanted to give him a chance to work with us on resolving the issue. Spoke with Jerome tonight, he is still out of state. When I told him I felt like we were taken advantage of, by him not informing us of an issue and just filling the coolant (I'll be honest, I said it felt like we got screwed), his response was "I'm sorry". And then there was a statement to the effect of, "It's possible if there was a leak, something was blocking it, and it was holding pressure, so it the blockage may have been dissolved, and the leak came back". We will not be using this company again, and I'm super disappointed with the service. I feel like he did take advantage of us not knowing much about our AC unit, and was happy enough to make $$$ off of something that was never going to fix the problem. Had we not gone somewhere else, we might have just kept having the unit filled, before realizing there was a larger problem.

Our A/C quit working in the middle of a 100+ degree heatwave. I contacted several companies, but most could not make a service trip to me for several days. I was pleasantly surprised that Whirlwind could make it out the next day. Turns out they are great at what they do. Ivan spoke with me on the phone to discuss what was wrong and what might be the cause that night. The next morning, he was here by 9:30am to trouble shoot. Within an hour the A/C was up and running and Ivan had put everything back as it was. Costs were very reasonable and, more importantly, they were exactly as stated before arrival. I liked most that Whirlwind was great at communicating with me, the customer. Both over the phone and in person. They were clear about the types of problems I could be facing with a 17+ year old system and what the worse case might be (full replacement since my A/C uses a now banned refrigerant). While they checked out the system, they kept me informed every step of the way and I earned a few things. When they finished, everything was put back in place, just as it was when they arrived.
