Per Ciara $129.00 for service call (to diagnostic) when I asked about is the company charge by hourly or flat rate. Ciara said it flat rate depend on the job. Appointment set for Friday 3/6/2026 @9:00am. The electrician Justin showed up at 8:00am. I was surprise but ok with it. When I asked again about the rate. Justin said $129.00 for 15' diagnostic and then $93.00 per 1/2 hour. I told him that not what I understand from Ciara. Since he said that it's what the company charge. Because he is already here. I decided to go with the company. Justin did a great job to remove the old fixtures and installed the new lights (which I provided the material) He quote me $583.30 (include some discount) +$129.00. Total $712.30. He did this for less than 1 hour and 30'. My complaint is that why did he charged me so much. Seems like a excessive charged for 2 installed light fixtures and less than 2 hours. No matter how you look either flat rate or hourly rate. It was too expenses. I would never use this company again. They quoted for exact replacement which clearly was not what I asked for. New quote was more than twice as much as original estimate once they found out they were installing an upgraded fan. I wanted two fans installed and only ended up installing one fan for about the same price as the original estimate. Minus one star for the communication issue but otherwise the installation went well and now I have a working fan instead of a hole in the ceiling. I appreciate their flexibility with installing a fan they didn't sell me which saved me money in the long run.

For entire year I was having problems with heat blowing into our living spaces. Austin identified the problem quickly and informed me that the motor had been installed incorrectly and that it was running backwards!!!! His knowledge will save me a lot of money. I was looking to get a quote for an HRV installed so I called and asked about that. I was asked when the last time our HVAC was serviced and since it had been a couple years was told we should just schedule a service before going ahead with a quote. So I scheduled - great! Guy came out and performed the service, but during the service the float switch we had on the system (so the condensate from the AC wouldn't overflow into our crawlspace if the drain got a clog) shorted the system when he plugged it back in. He said these things are unusual and not needed, since if it overflows it'll just have water in the crawlspace, no big deal (!?!), not like if the HVAC was in the attic. And the system wouldn't turn on unless he unplugged it, was that ok? Since I wanted the HVAC and AC to work I said ok. I asked the technician about getting a quote for an HRV and how that would work, etc, and he said he didn't know much about those and that he didn't see why they were necessary. While agree they're not necessary, we want one to improve our indoor air quality - thus the original call! He said he would note it down and the office would get back to me. Left with a $300 service bill, and an HVAC system in worse-off shape than before (no working float switch), I called back the next business day to see what could be done. The owner was really helpful and said he'd look into it, called back the next day and had the part ordered and would fix the float switch for free. I asked about getting a quote for an HRV and he said they don't really do them, so couldn't help out here. Ugh! That's why I called originally and wouldn't have had someone out here and paid $300 for service I didn't really want. All I really wanted was a quote! Lesson learned on my part, but overall won't be working with them again as they didn't help be address what I wanted to with my system (and I'm out $300 which seems pricey for what was ~1 hour maintenance service)

When my furnace stopped working in the middle of winter (with colder than normal temps... brrr), they were able to quickly deploy a technician to diagnose the issue and propose a solution. My furnace had basically reached the end of its lifecycle and the technician, John, gave an honest recommendation to replace the unit vs. hope that repairs could prolong use until inevitable replacement came due. Furnace replacement would likely save more money in the long run, so we went forward with replacement. Within 30 minutes after final installation and testing, the new furnace stopped working. I immediately texted John, who trekked back to my house and proceeded to spend hours diagnosing the issue. He was so dedicated that it was 10:30 pm (long after they closed for the day) before we decided to call it a night and try again. The next time he showed up, he brought a manufacturer's rep to help diagnose the problem. While the installation had followed the manufacturer's instructions step-by-step, some random condition (that wasn't in the manual) caused the malfunction. A fairly simple fix later and the furnace has been working wonderfully for the past two years. I've recommended John and Nakaoi to both family and friends... and now my dad is recommending this company to his friends. Overall, John is a great technician with a stellar service level and I will be planning to stay a Nakaoi customer in the future.
