Our A/C quit working in the middle of a 100+ degree heatwave. I contacted several companies, but most could not make a service trip to me for several days. I was pleasantly surprised that Whirlwind could make it out the next day. Turns out they are great at what they do. Ivan spoke with me on the phone to discuss what was wrong and what might be the cause that night. The next morning, he was here by 9:30am to trouble shoot. Within an hour the A/C was up and running and Ivan had put everything back as it was. Costs were very reasonable and, more importantly, they were exactly as stated before arrival. I liked most that Whirlwind was great at communicating with me, the customer. Both over the phone and in person. They were clear about the types of problems I could be facing with a 17+ year old system and what the worse case might be (full replacement since my A/C uses a now banned refrigerant). While they checked out the system, they kept me informed every step of the way and I earned a few things. When they finished, everything was put back in place, just as it was when they arrived. They quoted this at 14500, and we were looking at both options until we discovered the system was only 6 years old, decided to buck up for the 2500.00 They never got back to me, so researched other companies. Four Seasons came out... found the filter ( was up in the attic space) was blocking the system due to never being changed. We had the other company out in 2022 and no mention of it needing changing , nor this time did they say it was needed Long story short ... four seasons charged me 189.00 including the filter... everything is working beautifully. When I followed up, staff were completely unapologetic. They refused to reschedule me until more than a month after the original appointment--conveniently after all promotional offers on the Generac units had expired. This level of disregard for a customer's time and the appearance of deliberately waiting out promotions before offering service is unacceptable. Four Seasons demonstrated zero professionalism and zero respect for its customers. I will not do business with them and strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

I almost fell for this trick. But as he pressed me to make an appointment, he asked me what kind of a/c unit I have, which is an odd question for someone who has worked on our equipment previously. I then asked him directly, "Have I done business with you before?" No response. So I asked again. No response. It turns out, I have no record of doing business with Conrad Heating & Cooling, because we have never done business with this company! I told him I would not be scheduling anything with Conrad. This representative didn't even know what type of unit we have, confirming there was no prior relationship. The familiar tone of the initial text was a deliberate tactic to create a false sense of trust. And I find that very offensive! I'd encourage other homeowners, especially seniors who are frequently targeted by this kind of approach, to read unsolicited texts carefully. If a company implies they've worked with you before, ask specific questions before agreeing to anything. In this case, the deception became obvious very quickly.

We asked for a specific heat pump model with the new R32 refrigerant, but the two other contractors put an old model in the estimate. 2Brothers was also the most reasonable price-wise. And we couldn't have been happier with them. We wanted to take advantage of the Oregon Heat Pump Purchase Program that had just been launched. They weren't participating yet, but after we asked about it, Lisa, who runs the office, filed the papers, and we were able to get the $2,000 rebate. Beyond that, Charlie, the brother, who does the estimates; Casey, the brother who does the installation along with Max; and Lisa (they make up the entire company) were all professional and pleasant to deal with.
