I specifically asked about the flushing because several sources state it's important and we've never owned one like this before. Two technicians showed up on time and proceeded to do the service and after about 45 minutes came to let us know they were done. When we asked why the water heater had not been flushed they just looked at each other and said nobody told them to do it. They called the office and Cynthia made another appointment to get it done and didn't charge us for the initial $89 for the water heater service. Then a couple days later she texted and said their flushing equipment was down so the appointment is cancelled and she would let us know when we could reschedule. Forward one month and the trouble code comes on the water heater so we call them back. Cynthia says their flushing equipment technician must have forgotten to reset the water heater after he serviced it so she'll send him out in Monday to do that. She also tells us that the pump needed to do the flushing is still on back order so they still can't perform that service. We'll it's Monday now and Bianca called and said their flushing equipment technician won't be coming out today. He's unavailable for the next few months. That's all, no solution for the trouble code or offer to help. They installed an appliance they can't and won't service. They have the poorest customer service I can imagine. I would never call them again.

Scheduling was a breeze, setting up the sales visit and the install day was easy and they were prompt for both. The majority of the paperwork was done online, and payment required the first half at the time you set the install appointment, with the second half collected at the end of install. The guys who did the installation were friendly and respectful. They showed me the basics on how to use the system before they left. It's been working great so far, I can't wait to see how it affects my electric bill!

Eric came out and listened to our concerns and answered a lot of picky detailed questions. He did a great job of explaining the challenges of installing AC in an older house, which helped us make a good decision about which type of system to install. And after the installation, Eric came to check air flow in every room of the house, showed us how to optimize that and gave us tips and advice for using the system. As for the installation itself, we were very happy with both Bailey and Devin, the pair who carried it out. Bear Electric did great work to support the installation. And finally, some days after installation, Skylar came out to clean all the ducts, including our dryer duct! We really appreciated both the careful, detailed service and everyone's friendly, professional attitudes. It's clear that Specialty chooses their employees with care and it seems the company treats their employees with respect. Companies like Specialty Heating & Cooling are contributing to this problem with pricing practices that, in my view, take advantage of customers. Last week, I noticed an unusual noise coming from our furnace. I had a good idea of what it might be, as I dealt with the same issue when we lived in a different home. I called Specialty Heating & Cooling and scheduled an appointment. The technician arrived on time, and within five minutes, the diagnostics confirmed exactly what I suspected. That's when I was told there was a $189 diagnostic fee--something no one had mentioned when I scheduled the visit. I paid it, but I made it clear that this had not been disclosed. The technician said he would call after the Thanksgiving weekend with a repair estimate. On Monday, he contacted me and asked for my email. When I requested the total cost of the repair, the quote was $1,186.43. I asked for an explanation of how they justified charging nearly $1,200 for a part that retails for about $142, installs with three screws, and takes less than 30 minutes to replace. Unfortunately, no clear explanation was provided. If their quote had been anywhere near reasonable--say, up to $500--I would have approved the repair immediately. I spent a total of 15 minutes removing and reinstalling that part. The entire process required removing and replacing only three 1/4-inch screws. Given how quick and simple the job was, I'm struggling to understand why the charge was so high. This level of work does not justify the price that I was quoted. However, at this price, I strongly suggest exploring alternatives before calling Specialty Heating & Cooling, unless you're comfortable paying far more than what the job is worth.

I was charged $199. Oddly enough the tech sent a quote on things that could be done even though he didn't have any idea what was wrong with the unit . Why come out when it's frozen unless you can defrost the unit and why quote options of things I could do when we don't even have an idea of what the problem is, what a scam. I offered to slit the bill and call it as a gestire of good faith but they declined.

I had one issue where I called in a frazzle because I swapped out our thermostat on a 100º day and couldn't get the new one hooked up quite right. They talked me through it over the phone - probably a 30 minute phone call - and offered to come out the next day to just verify that I did it properly.
