Completely not worth the hype. My family came here for dinner on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. The service was great--nothing to complain about there. But for the price, the food was seriously substandard. I had the New Orleans pasta, which basically tasted like taco pasta--not the right flavors. My husband had the tuna, which was ok, but not out of this world. For the price, I would expect them to be doing something more interesting with their food. Instead, they have meat loaf on the menu. I'd suggest going to one of the many more interesting restaurants in Bluffton. read more

We had an excellent experience for luncheon on Valentine's Day. My wife's spare ribs were outstanding in BBQ flavor and tenderness - falling off the bone good! My choice was the sesame seared tuna steak and it came out just as ordered and was really flavorful. The accompanying sides were also done as requested, and were delicious. We topped off the meal with the famous Key Lime Pie and were so pleased with the flavor and texture. All in all, it was a fine meal and our server, Marshall was attentive, accurate and very pleasant - adding to our enjoyment by looking after us and checking to be sure all was as ordered. read more

I have been going to Truffles for years and love the consistency of their staple menu items. I am giving it 4 stars, because our server was especially below the normal experience. She was late coming to our table and didn't apologize, and jumped into getting our food order. We felt a bit rushed. My cousin had to remind the waitress that she had not asked if we wanted anything to drink. We had the spinach and artichoke dip as an app, which was great. My aunt had the Cajun pasta with chicken, my cousin had the french onion soup and a chicken entree with spinach and mozzarella, my mom had the tuna salad and I had the blackened grouper. A good meal, and will be back again, but hopefully we will have a different server. read more

We met friends here for lunch. It was all of our first time here. We were greeting promptly. We all sat and of course started talking instead of reviewing the menu, the waiter was very patient with us. My husband ordered the cheeseburger, I ordered the homemade pimento grill cheese, our friends had the the grill chicken salad and chicken sandwich. Everything looked delish. Great restaurant with a diverse menu. The decor is upscale and I like the bar. Great martinis (my wife loved the apple martini here - not nearly as syrupy as a lot of places, and the first place I ever had a chocolate martini). Bluffton is well represented by chains so it's great to have an moderately upscale restaurant off-Island. Definitely worth a visit for anyone visiting off-Island, or a local resident. I had the tomato dill soup for an appetizer. I had the Pimento Burger for dinner. Both were excellent. I consider myself a Burger connoisseur and would rate this burger a solid 8 out of 10. The only thing about the burger that could have been better was the bun. I've had a few dinners at Truffles Cafe - Belfair, and the service at Truffles Cafe - Sea Pines is far superior. At the Belfair location, you can count on 4 to 6 individuals (including your waiter) interacting with you over the course of a dinner. With varying levels of enthusiasm, some of these individuals will simply inquire as to how your meal is. Some will bus your table. And some will interact with you simply to inquire if you need anything else before the bill is presented. Once or twice managers have even gotten into the act. At Truffles - Sea Pines, I only interact with my waiter, from start to finish. The vibe at Truffles Café - Belfair is "move them in and move them out as quickly as possible." Since I don't dine out on a regular basis, I don't appreciate the "team" approach. Both locations tend to be busy, but only Belfair feels the need to move patrons along. This was one of the best experiences. I had the Black Drum fish and it was outstanding. I ordered on the advice of our server and it was spot on! Mild fish with a glaze. Spinach and beans were just the way I like- no butter but sauted in oil. My husband had the meatloaf with a glaze as well. Neither glazes over powered the meal.Outstanding dishes. The buttermilk mashed potatoes were new to us and had an indescribably delicious taste. Truffles is my favorite place for unsweetened tea- oranges and a spice I regrettably forgot. A must try restaurant. Wasn't disappointed by anything. Our server Matthew was delightful. Ask for him. He was more accommodating than I've ever experienced. He was attentive and informative. If you wanted to chat, he was pleasantly knowledgeable and fun to talk with. From what we could see, the restaurant was clean as were the bathrooms. Not a big fan of this Chain Restaurant. The food seems to have the flavor of something cooked in a commissary, then shipped to the Physical Restaurant and rewarmed. There's just something a little off putting about this place, I've even asked to talk to the Chef, but was told that the owner writes all the menus and that the food is just prepared by cooks in the kitchen. I don't know if this is true or not, but if there isn't a chef in the kitchen to make sure the flavors a right, this would explain the commissary theory. read more

Truffles was a wonderful experience! My husband and I went for lunch and we had a wonderful time! My husband had a salmon which he said was delicious and I had a burger! It was amazing! I know, you might be thinking "really a burger?" But YES! I actually took the herbed butter from the bread and put it on the burger (which was already great but I couldn't get enough of that butter) which made it OUTRAGEOUS! I was pleasantly surprised by the dining experience my wife and i had at Truffles. It isn't that we had low expectations, but we didn't know what we were getting ourselves in to. The decor was inviting so we said "why not" Glad we did!! They start you off with bread and butter and if you can manage to stop munching on that, you are a better person than me. We had the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer and it was very good. My wife ordered the linguine with shrimp and she enjoyed it. I had the parmesean crusted catch of the day which was a fish called black drum. If it were kosher to do so, I may have licked the plate clean it was so good, but I refrained and settled for a slice of key lime pie instead. In addition to the delicious food, the service we recieved was extraordinary! We will definitely make a visit back to Truffles cafe. As a side note, they do sell their butter to go, which I recommend everyone get. read more
