Had a great meal on a stormy Saturday night. Caitlin took wonderful care of us. There when we needed her without being obtrusive. I had the fresh cod entree for the first time. It was dynamite! Let's begin with the service...Emmanuel was simply a gem. He set the mood for the entire dinner with his smile, his knowledge and his affability. He took our drink order, (I started with a very tasty Smokey Margarita, my wife with a glass of one of the two Napa Chards they had), then gave a very suitable amount of time without hovering, for us to make some decisions on the food items. Now on to the food itself, we started with their take on French Onion soup. It was not as traditional as we were expecting, the onions were not caramelized, the broth was much lighter, but it was still very tasty and not disappointing. My wife opted for the Napa salad with Tuna as an entree and it was both incredibly tasty and large enough to take leftovers home and have for not one, but likely two additional meals additionally, she asked for the Tuna to be done very rare and it was perfectly done. I chose the Jumbo Lump Crab cake dinner, after asking if it was freshly made there on a daily basis (yes was the answer). It was a nicely done with an abundance of crab and a lack of the filler one can sometimes get. I opted for coleslaw as one of the sides instead of the green beans (never a favorite of mine), and it was one of the stars of the show. We asked for the recipe, but understandably, the chef would not give it up. It was bright, crisp and one of the best we've ever had. I intentionally brought a little home to see if I can replicate it it was so delicious. Their wine selections are nicely varied, some a bit overpriced, but others under what you would expect on a restaurant menu so on balance, acceptable. We did not opt for dessert as the portions were more than ample and we were very full. We had heard a lot about Truffles and it took us a while to get there, however, we will be back. We have been in Bluffton for 3 weeks and have come to Truffles 4 times already. Sadly, neither me nor my husband have been able to vary from our original food selections as they are just so darn good! Truffle fries, coconut shrimp, Napa cabbage salad (shrimp instead of tuna) and chicken pot pie..... it's become our favorite place to dine, and I'm hoping we get one more visit before we depart SC. This was our first time trying Truffles and it will not be our last visit to this lovely restaurant! We had reservations at another restaurant and cancelled them after the owner of Palmettoes referred us. We were greeted at the door with a warm welcome and a smile, which is so refreshing these days. We were seated immediately and drinks were ordered. Our server was a very friendly young man named Andrew that was home for a few days from USC. His recommendations and descriptions of the appetizers and entrees we chose were perfection. We started with the tuna wontons and they were plentiful and delicious! I ordered the meatloaf and my husband had the Parmesan chicken.....both were delicious! The best part......a free dessert since I was celebrating my birthday! The blondie was absolutely delicious and excellent for sharing. From start to finish, our experience was amazing! Can't wait to try more items on our next visit to HHI! read more

We have previously been to Truffles for lunch & enjoyed it. So we brought friends there for dinner who had never been there. They loved it! I had the meatloaf which was hadns down the best meatloaf I ever had. Others Had BLT Salad, Fish of the Day (Mahi) and Caesar Salad with grilled shrimp. All raved about how good th food was. Our waitress, Meghan, Was ver good as well and the hostess stopped by a few times to refill water glasses as well. Our guests had pear martinis & enjoyed them (dry January for meso I can't comment on drinks). We were seated in the right dining room with the front wall all winndows. Very nice but chilly; glad I had a jacket with me. We really enjoyed that room though because it was more quiet than the center dining room and we needed to have a deep conversation so that worked. My husband said that next time we go we need to be sure to request that dining room. Two had desserts (key lime pie & Oreo pie) and enjoyed them. Delious bread & herbed butter served before dinner. We will definitely be back when we live here full time (building a house in Bluffton). read more

Nice menu, I love the decor. High, high ceilings and a many big windows for natural light. They do have gluten free pasta available which I had with my meal. It's a place I've been to only 3 or 4 times but it's always good food and the staff do their best to care for you. read more

The food was amazing and worth the prices. However, we had gotten a private dining room for our party and our server barely came around. She was very friendly and helpful when she did, but we went long periods of time when she wasn't there. Im sure that was a staffing/busy-ness aspect to consider. But as far as tipping, it felt unfair to those that actually showed up when we needed refills or anything like that. I would definitely go again because they are very accommodating and friendly.
