This is the latest True Texas barbecue to open, now located in Hancock Center directly next to H-E-B. For those of you who are not familiar, when you walk in, you'll make your order on one of the two kiosks on the counter or you can just tell the cashier what you'd like. Unfortunately you cannot call in orders, but you can download their app and order from that. There is no drive up window at this location. They have a great varied menu with 2 to 3 meat plates, even burnt ends. Their chicken tenders are very juicy as is their smoked turkey. The brisket has a good solid smoke ring on it and the ribs are sweet, spicy and sticky. There is a three dollar up charge if you get ribs to go with your three meat plate and you'll have to ask for ketchup if you get fries or onion rings. Pricewise, they're pretty much in line for what you expect to pay for good barbecue these days. However, unlike most businesses these days, they won't flip the tip screen over on you when it's time to pay. The photos included should get you through the door. read more
