I bought 2 Float Spa Sessions for my husband and I for Valentine's Day! I got a pretty good deal through Groupon for under $90. He was curious after watching Joe Rogan talk about it. I never heard of this but went for the ride, no expectations. Making an appointment was easy. I followed the instructions and texted the number for appointment time to schedule. It was easy peasy and I had to fill out a consent form that was sent to my email. Since this was our first time, we had to get there 30 mns. early to watch a video and get a tour. Upon entering the place, we found comfortable chairs and a giant waterfall. The place was so welcoming, smelled so good, and had a serene atmosphere. We waited a few minutes and the manager came out to sign us in. She gave us flip flops to use while we were there and showed us first to the relaxing room we will come out to when we were done. We will get complimentary tea, cucumber lemon waters, and 15 mns. of oxygen bar. We were then led to a dark room to watch our instruction video. It was a short and informal video. The leather chaise were so comfortable. After the video, we were finally led to our pod suites and given more instructions and advices. Then it was go time. I locked my door, put the ear plugs in, took a shower and entered my pod naked. The pod was clean and warm. I put my floating head piece on and assumed my position with both hands over my head and feet slightly parted. I relaxed my shoulders and started the breathing technique to slow down my heart rate and closed my eyes. The soothing music and jets would end soon, I manually turned the lights off and tried to relax and think of happy thoughts. It was pitch black and so quiet I heard my heart beat and my breathing. My mind got very creative and I thought of positive things but the thought of not being able to breathe kept creeping in. I'm not sure if it was claustrophobia or normal but the thought of suffocating kept coming back. I would take deep breaths through my mouth a few times and try to change my thoughts. It did relax me 1000%. It was so relaxing once I didn't feel like I was in a coffin, I may have dozed off. The hour went by fast and the lights and sound came back on. I did not want to leave. The float experience is like no other. It's like you are floating in space. I felt so spaced out and relaxed as if I just got a full body massage. There are so many benefits of float tanks: lowers blood pressure, better sleep, gets rid of stress, promotes endorphin production, pain relief, mental clarity, creativity, etc... I signed up for the monthly membership and look forward to my next float. I recommend it to everyone!!! It's sooo good and good for you. Self care is important. I got out and showered again and went to relax in the oxygen room. I sipped on a delicious cranberry orange tea and tried the Bliss oxygen flavor. It was the most refreshing experience. read more

I loved my first float and bought a membership to help with chronic pain. The float is wonderful; however, the customer service is so terrible to the point it feels like a fraudulent company. They never, ever answer their phones and will only text with prepared text. They will never call back. They never, ever help with an issue. I am currently trying to cancel my membership, but I get no response whatsoever. This is not what membership is supposed to be. Buyer beware read more

Today was my birthday, and my evening plans were to do a float spa & get carry out from Local Roots for dinner on the way home. When I arrived for my appointment she said she had to reschedule for another day because she had to close because she had mom stuff she had to take care of. Two other people there had driven an hour to get there and had their appointments canceled too. I tried to salvage my evening and found a massage place across town that still had an opening. The massage was weird and cost me $190. I found a place near there to pick up dinner and the food was gross. Then I got home much later than I had hoped. I hope there was a good reason for them to cancel my appointment, and if so I guess I hope everything is ok. Pretty disappointing. I'm excited that for my hundredth review it's a new experience and one that was highly enjoyable as well. We decided to try the True Rest Float Spa this past Saturday and I absolutely loved it. There are many benefits of floating, which include improved sleep, pain reduction, and lower anxiety as well improving concentration and other areas of mental functioning. You have to shower before getting in to remove all lotions and what not. The pods are full of warm water and epson salts, and you are able to free float due to the high salt content. I was slightly worried that I might feel claustrophobic or anxious in the pods, but they are large, and there are blinking lights that felt quite soothing. They also play calming music in the beginning and the end. Sleep is encouraged, which I was not able to achieve, but I was able to relax, meditate, and felt very peaceful upon exciting. Speaking of which, we were treated to an oxygen and tea bar, which was also not only delicious, but felt quite posh and we left feeling straight up amazing. It's a little on the pricey side so I'm not sure how often I will be back but they offer $20 off your first float and free oxygen at the first visit, so it's definitely worth a try! read more

I started floated in 2022, I loved my experience. both me and my partner enjoyed it. Floating itself, is centering, calming and relaxing. HOWEVER, after getting a membership (we floated 4 times a year and decided to get one) in 2024, the staff, care, and facilities at Powell TrueRest Spa, and the Easton location started to deteriorate. When you spend that money to float, its a act of self care, centering your mind,body and meditating...so when we exit the float chamber and relax in the lobby, it was jarring to have the attendant talking at the absolute maximum volume and laughing and making jokes. I don't mind it so much but my partner was not happy that she wouldn't leave us alone to sit and write, relax before leaving the building. We got out of there very quickly and never returned to the Easton Oh store. Now, with membership in hand, we went back to the Powell location. My first float back, the party light and the jet would not go off in the pod. Great, trash. The 2nd time, there wasn't enough salt in the bath and they were out of ear plugs/towels so everyone's appointment got pushed back 15 - 30 minutes-- again...trash. 3rd time, the water seemed like it wasnt he correct temperature. So we decided to cancel our membership. And that's where they get you. The 2nd week of March I wanted to cancel my membership at the store, the person working, new -no idea how to do it, said that she would leave a message with the manager. Great. The manager never called. I called, got the voice response...its funny how easy it is to sign up or schedule an appointment but not actually stop-charging you. Emailed, called for 2 weeks straight. Now it has charged my account again. DO NOT buy a membership from this company. Its just as sticky as a gym membership. Wait to the deals. They have valentine day deals and Christmas deals. And after about 2 -3 floats a year, I personally don't think you get much out of it. I'm going by tonight to speak directly with the manager and reporting to my bank. read more

(Pre Quarantine experience) It started out as a neat experience that ended up a nightmare. They do not allow you to cancel at the store, making you jump through hoops only to be told you still owe money for not canceling on time. The experience started off with a Groupon deal that my wife and I were given. After the initial experience I purchased the base package of $59. The guy said he would apply my Groupon towards the membership making my total for the day $20 and he would give me my float back from that day making my account show 2 floats to use in the next 30 days. He said as long as I call and cancel before the month's end and my account hadn't been billed that I could stop the auto charge and not have any problems canceling my membership. He also said that I could share the floats with my wife. I thought this was a fantastic deal and I paid the $20+ tax. My wife used the 2 floats within the first month and on her last visit she tried to cancel at the store and the guy said he couldn't cancel memberships at the store and gave her an email address for his manager. An email was sent and the response was that there was allegedly a float still on the account and what did we want to do with it? The manager said we could defer for 90 days and have access to the remaining float and still cancel the membership. We didn't end up using the float, but before the 90 days ended we emailed the manager to cancel the membership and received an auto reply saying it was time stamped as proof of receipt. The manager didn't respond, we sent several more emails still with no response, but before the 90 days had expired. Now a charge showed up on our credit card for a month's dues. Another email and voicemail were left. The manager finally replied a few days after the charge hit our account and told us that the membership had been cancelled but that we still owed the money. A person should be able to cancel a membership at the store, and being told no is borderline, if not completely, illegal. They refused to refund our money. read more

Caveat emptor I need to update my review after some return visits. We were given two Groupon gifts, but since they are only for new customers, the lady that rung me out had said I could send my husband for the other one. So I did. When he went, they offered to take the price of the groupon toward a monthly membership and give him an extra float. Knowing how much I had enjoyed it, he paid the $20 or so and then told me I had two more floats but only a month to use them. Now he could have used one and I could have used the other, but he told me to use them. I scheduled two floats two weeks apart. On my first return visit, it was late afternoon and they were behind schedule getting the rooms cleaned. The first time I came in, it seemed like all the rooms were on a timer and started at the top of the hour. So for this one I started late, and the filter was already off when I got in. The whole time I'm thinking I'm not going to get my full hour. I didn't hear the music at the beginning. It was very unsettling. Not relaxing at all. I went two weeks later to use the second float. My impression was that new floaters get the red carpet rolled out and return floaters are not treated the same for some reason. When I checked out, I told them I wanted to cancel my membership. The guy that was there said he couldn't do it, and he gave me an email address for the manager. I emailed the manager, who told me I had one more float. She said if I wanted I could defer the membership for three months, use the float sometime in the next 90 days, and then cancel. I accepted that option over email. I never got around to using the float, partly because I hadn't had as good an experience the second and third time I went in. In February, two weeks before the 90 days were up, I emailed again to cancel. I got an auto reply that said my message was time stamped but then never got an actual response. I emailed again before the date and no response. Then the charge for the next month showed up on my card. I emailed again, and called the store and left a message. Finally a couple days later I got an email response saying that my membership was canceled but I would still need to pay the charge. It was stated as if the charges are for the previous period, but that didn't fit, because when my husband signed up he paid the month in advance. I appealed by email again but to no avail. I was told in no uncertain terms that they did not think I was owed a refund. Several parts of this are huge red flags. The "good deal" too good to pass up, that my husband was offered to join. $20 for two more floats, who wouldn't sign up for that? When I tried to cancel, being told I had another float on the account. Something the guy at the store failed to mention. Being charged up front at the beginning, but then being told basically I couldn't cancel without paying another month. It screams fraud to me. Had a Groupon and thought I'd give this a try. Disclaimer - I am not a water person, don't swim well and prefer showers to baths. The place was clean and staff helpful. I felt a bit claustrophobic in the pod, but did manage to doze off. We were told that a 1 hr float is like a 3-4 hr sleep. I couldn't get comfortable initially and used the head float rest, which helped. Also had felt really nauseated early on; I assume it was due to my inner ear getting acclimated. It wasn't a bad experience, but wasn't amazing, either. read more

I had True Rest Float Spa on my radar for a while to check out. I entered countless raffles where I "paid" money to get a gift card here and it never worked out. Finally I caved in and purchased a Groupon once I noticed it on there for a very affordable price. I booked my appointment for yesterday and showed up 30 minutes early to complete my new person orientation. Basically signing up and getting a tour of the place. Plus watching a video about True Rest and how to properly float in the pod. Once I was done with the video, I was shown the pod area and how to properly cleanse myself before going into the pod itself. Ladies who are on their menstruation period should re-book as it could contaminate the pod! I had no problems with that and could go in freely. I would suggest bringing a bikini if your a lady to be in the pod. For men of course swimming shorts. Finally, after about 30 minutes, I was feeling a little shaky so I completed my session in the pod. It was mostly my fault because I didn't get the e-mail where it said to eat prior to going into the pod. Therefore, I was a bit nauseous and stepped out of the pod early. I didn't get the full experience but it does help those who experience symptoms of muscle pain, anxiety, depression, stress, etc. It also helps to stimulate your brain so at the end of your session you'll feel more calm and relaxed. I recommend True Rest if you need something to help you with upper and lower body pain, trouble sleeping, stressed, depressed, or need a good pick me up to get you through the day. I may come back again to experience the float again so that I can get another experience now that I'm more aware of what to do next time I come in to float. I'd wanted to try this for quite some time. As a treat, my mom set up an appointment for me. At first I was a little apprehensive, but once inside I was greeted by a very nice lady. She was friendly and made me feel right at home. The facility is professional, pristine and welcoming. The process is explained very well. Each person is in their own private room, with an attached shower. They provide essential toiletries to make the experience effortless. The tips the attendant gave were great & helpful. While in the pod, I felt weightless, relaxed, and it forced me to slow down and take time for myself. Once I was finished and showered, I went out to the lounge. This is where I did the 10 minute oxygen bar. I've never used oxygen before, it was interesting. As I was leaving I decided to sign up for the monthly package. I initially had no intentions of doing this. Because I was a new client, I received two free spa treatments as well as a cute T-shirt. I will say I felt very relaxed, and had quite possibly the best night sleep I've ever had. Everyone else has done a pretty good job outlining the step-by-step experience, so I'll just share how I *feel*: Great. Upbeat. Satisfied. I was a little restless in there at first, so I'm excited to try it again as a more adjusted, less fidgety floater. I loved the deep darkness and silence of having the pod enclosed. It was a little cool on the surface with the pod open, so I kept it closed and would crack it when the air got a little too stale. The sensation of floating with nothing but my body was incredible. I'm shorter, so I didn't touch any of the pod walls very much when I was stretched out, which gave a fantastic "floating through space" feeling. Also: fab shower & products. They offer some pretty great packages and memberships, especially if you sign up on your first visit. I have my eye on doing the 5 float bundle (pay upfront) since monthly may be pushing it (it's far for me!), though you can carry your floats over if miss a month. The space is gorgeous and peaceful, as great as any spa. The oxygen bar left me invigorated, the staff gave serious warm & fuzzy vibes, and I love how I feel in this moment, just two hours removed. Wow, what an incredible experience. I will definitely try it again after the holidays. NOTE: Did a 2nd and 3rd seession in 2016 and enjoyed it more each time. This is something I always wanted to try since the movie Altered States came out back in 1980. The facility is first rate and professional. The first time there you are required to watch a 20 minute video, but the video is helpful. The video and literature indicates you may need to go twice to get the full benefit and I think that is more than marketing hype. I was almost done with my first float when I was getting the hang of it. At the beginning you can't turn off the lights and the circ pump is running so I couldn't quite relax. The circ pump moves you around and at 6'1" I would bump into the walls. I'm guessing, but done' know for sure, my 6'7" friend may not be comfortable in this pod. I was just starting to get comfortable in the darkness when the air got too warm to be comfortable. (The water was the perfect temp) I opened the lid to let air in and the lights came on. That broke the relaxation a bit. I later learned I could crack the lid of the pod just a bit and the lights would remain off and I could get a little air circulation. At the end I felt wonderful (quite a bit of arthritis and am an avid runner) I will definitely do this a second time and report back. I did my first float yesterday and I can't wait to do it again. I thought I would feel claustrophobic, but didn't at all! It's super easy to get in and out of the pod, and the pod itself felt very spacious. I was worried about getting water in my ears, so I loved that there were options of ear plugs or a floatable head "pillow." The staff were great about answering my questions, and explaining everything so that my first experience with "floating" was very positive. Today was my first visit at a float spa. It was always something my husband wanted to try and they had a buy one get one free coupon so I thought I'd give it a try. It was easy to get to and plenty of parking out front. The place is very clean and welcoming. Your visit you watch a little tutorial before you get started. Everyone has their own private room with their pod and shower. I'm the type of person who has a hard time relaxing and turning off their brain and today was no exception. I couldn't really relax and enjoy the whole experience but that was in no way the spas fault. They provide you with all your toiletries and even a blow dryer if you want. I tried out the flavored oxygen bar afterwards which was nice. This is definitely something I think everyone should experience at least once. read more

If you've never heard of a float tank, let me fill you in: It's a pod where tons of epsom salt has been dumped in to create a salinity so dense that your body can't help but float. The lights are turned off, and it's a complete sensory-deprivation experience. You lie there for an hour, and every single part of you becomes relaxed. Marie G does an excellent job of walking you through each step, so I'll leave it to her to cover all those details. You take a quick shower to wash off, hop in the tank for an hour, and then wash off again before leaving. Something strange happens with time in that pod. I could have sworn only 15-20 minutes had passed when my hour was up! I was so relaxed -- I must have been in a trance! My entire body felt amazing, like a mixture of a good night's sleep + a massage. Once I was out of the suite, I headed to the lounge with an oxygen bar. I grabbed some hot tea and plugged into the flavored oxygen machine to inhale some O2 for a while. It was the perfect ending to such a relaxing session! When I was first asked if I wanted to go floating, I am sure it was expected that I'd say no. But, I find it important to always keep people guessing... so I said yes without any hesitation. When we arrived for our first float, we were so warmly greeted that I was immediately at ease. Soon, we were ushered into a room full of chaise lounges to watch an instructional video and relax. Let me tell you, if I ever have a movie room in my house, it'll be filled with chaise lounges! I was so comfy that I couldn't imagine it getting better. I was very, very wrong. We began with a quick tour of what the rooms with the float pods look like. They are warmly decorated with plenty of hooks for your clothes, a bench to sit on or set a bag, and a shelf for your preferred music playing device. The shelf even has an outlet right there to charge said device. See how they just take care of you?! Before your float, you'll take a quick shower to get clean before you get into the float pod. I won't go into all the details about a float... I'll leave that for other reviewers and the team at True Rest. What I will share is that I felt like I would have an interesting experience floating in a dark tank for an hour. I knew I would relax but I didn't think I would completely relax. Well, all I can share with you about that hour in the tank is that I floated for about 10 minutes... and then the music came on and my time was up. Did I fall asleep? Did I enter a meditative state? Was I abducted by aliens? I can't say. What I can tell you is that I felt amazing when I got out. After a quick shower, I went into the lounge to take advantage of their flavored oxygen bar. Yes, you read that correctly. After 10 minutes of nearly pure oxygen, I was wide awake and ready to take on the world. I had such an amazing experience at my first float, that I came back just a week later to do it again. Show up a half hour before your appt. You fill out paperwork on an iPad. You are taken to a dark sitting area that looks something out of a scifi movie and asked to watch a short video while resting on a lounge chair. You are given a tour of the decompress room where you go to relax after your float, the actual float room, and bathrooms. The float room has the float pod, a shower, and shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. You are asked to shower before the float. Towel is provided. You climb into the pod - with no clothes - you can either use ear plugs, a neck pillow, or just lay back and submerge your ears. You may leave the pod open or closed or partly cracked. The entire room is dark. Which gets me to the pod experience. People have various fears in life which this pod will quickly bring out. Fear of darkness. Fear of drowning. Fear of suffocation. Fear of isolation. Fear of closed spaces. Fear of being left alone with your thoughts. Fear of quiet. As a society we don't allow yourselves time to disconnect and be still. Except when we sleep. And these fears are all in our head. The water, air, and skin temps are the same. There is 1200 pound of salt in the water so yes you float. And the water is about 10 inches deep. Your ears are submerged but your face is not. For a few minutes your mind races as if it's fighting you. It takes a good 15 to 20 mins for your mind to settle. Deep breathing helps. So does meditation. After that a magical thing happens where your body realizes it has stopped fighting gravity and your brain switches to a relaxed state. I tried to relax my jaw and face but I had the urge to smile. I imagined this is what it's like while we are in the womb before we are pulled out into the bright cold world screaming. Your arms and legs float freely. You can keep your arms out to the side, up above you, on your stomach. Careful not to splash around and get the salt water in your eyes. There is a spray bottle in the pod for that reason. All the music and light controls and intercom to the reception are inside the pod. My first half I used the neck pillow as I hate water in my ears. I did deep breathing and just had a feeling do well being that kept a constant smile on my face. Happiness. The second half I took away the pillow and submerged my ears. After a minute of getting used to it and getting out of my head - I slipped back into a relaxation state and I heard my heartbeat so loud and clear. As I focused on that sound I started hearing a whooshing sound like waves. To what I imagined was my heart pumping blood. I heard my heartbeat and blood flowing throughout my body. I focused on that sound and then I started to see red waves slowly moving around. For some reason I naturally kept my eyes closed but when I opened them in the closed pitch black pod...I still saw the red waves, almost like a kaleidoscope. Not bright but a faint red. It was not only amazing knowing that I'm alive but hearing my heart beating and pumping blood was surprising to me. I never stop and think about the complexity of my body, everything that makes it operate so I can wake up day after day. Each one of us have different experiences in the pods but this was mine. It was a nice reminder that I'm alive and it was nice to out of my head and be thankful for this life. I heard the 5 minute warning music come on, I turned the light on inside the pod and slowly came back to the world. Climbed out. Took a shower and washed the salt off, dried off, put my clothes on, and went to the restroom to finish up. They have hair products and a dryer, straightener, and curler provided. Bring a brush. Then you go to the decompress room, enjoy reading the journal, write in it, and enjoy the oxygen bar or a glass of tea/water. Then you go check out and step back into the loud and busy world we live in totally feeling like a stranger to it. We've come a long way since the first float pod on 1954...besides the meditative benefits to floating there is a long list of other benefits - it's great for stress reduction (cortisol reduction), muscle pain, migraines, high blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia, back pain, depression, stimulates left/right brain synchronization...the relaxed state triggers your body's natural regeneration process. Not in one session. It takes time to peel away the layers of body stress and mental blocks we've put up. I will be back. The staff is superb - friendly, knowledgeable, and they'll answer all of your questions. The five stars alone for cleanliness. I did not find one speck of dirt! read more

My girlfriend's LSAT was coming up and she was stressing hardcore about it, so I found the Groupon for True Rest and scheduled an appointment for the two of us to go the night before her exam. We got there a couple of minutes early, got signed in, and settled down in the lobby before watching the intro video on floating. It had a cool backstory on the history of flotation therapy, and wasn't just a boring history lesson, but had some humor as well. On to the floating! Katie and I went into our respective booths/areas, which were very nicely appointed with tile flooring, and a beautiful tile shower. Leaps and bounds nicer than the shower that I have in my home! You're instructed to take a quick shower before getting into the pod to make sure you don't contaminate the water. I didn't feel claustrophobic or trapped once I got in the pod at all. It was pretty surreal to just be suspended completely weightless. I really wanted to have that 100% sensory deprivation feeling, but I couldn't get the blue LED inside of my pod to turn off. My fault for not using the call button to take care of it, but it was still relaxing. I don't think I ever fell completely asleep, but I was in that middling place where you're lucidly dreaming. It was a great experience! Afterward we really wanted to try the oxygen bar, but the two chatty Cathys who were in the other two pods completely monopolized the two oxygen bars, so after waiting around for 10 minutes or so we just left. I would DEFINITELY recommend giving True Rest a try, and I plan to go back for sure. read more

A few weeks after I read about floating therapy, I saw a Groupon for True Rest Float Spa in Powell, OH and decided to give it a shot. I'll say this - while the core is the floating session, it's truly all about the holistic experience from the minute you walk in the door until the minute you leave. You're welcomed in a small waiting room, and, like most spas, offered tea, coffee or water to get you comfortable while you wait and listen to the familiar sounds of the pan flute. Once you get the administrative stuff out of the way, you slip into flip flops (they have them for you, but I recommend bringing your own because who knows there those things have been!) and get ushered into a dark room with a wall-mounted TV and chaise lounges so you can start to relax. After watching a brief video about what to expect and how to make the most of your experience, the video switches over to a loop of colorful, geometric shapes that go in and out of focus and change size and color. The point is to prepare your brain for the theta state that will come with the float. Now that you're mentally prepared, a floating consultant guides you to your floating room that includes both the pod and a small and open shower area to wash your body and hair of the day's griminess before you step into the pod. Once cleaned off, you step into your pod and the floating consultant - now in another room - starts 10 minutes of music that's supposed to relax and prepare you for the next hour of floating. When she walked me through the instructions - of which there were MANY, so listen up - she said that once the music ends at the end of the session, that's when you know your time is up. Unfortunately, I didn't quite hear her say the music plays only the first and last 10 minutes of your session. So when it stopped the first time and suddenly I was floating in complete silence, I panicked. Did my sound work? Did I actually click off the music button? How will I know when to get out if there's no music to cue me when to do so? WILL I DIE IN HERE? Probably. While of course I was being dramatic, it's indicative of what is probably everyone's first time in a floating pod. What's going on with the music? Should I keep the pod lights on or off (if the latter, you'd be floating in literal darkness)? Should I keep the pod open or closed (if the latter, it becomes nearly suffocating)? Until you know what combination of variables and choices works for you, it's difficult to relax. They tell you to focus on your breathing - much like in yoga - but you're so worried about whether or not you're going to suffocate to death that breathing is the last thing on your mind. In the last 15 minutes, I finally figured out what combination worked for me - lights off, pod open - and it was heavenly, albeit short. Once your session is done, you're asked to shower once again to remove the salt that's stuck to your body. At True Rest, you have access to lots of products to make that experience like home - Aveda lotions, make up remover, hair dryer, straightening iron. The works. Once you're ready to go, you have to first step through an intermediary room that the staff encourages you to spend at least 10 minutes in after your float in order to make an easier transition back into the real world. In that room, you get fresh hot tea (from Tekhu, the best!), lemon water to rebalance the pH in your body, and access to an Oxygen bar - I tried the lavendar, but like a child my nose started running 7 minutes in and I had to stop. And finally, you're encouraged to journal your experience - or whatever is on your mind - in a journal shared by all patrons of the spa. Pretty interesting to see what other's experiences have been. I left feeling almost eerily relaxed. So relaxed that I wondered if I was ok to drive! Alas, I was. It's a feeling that's stayed with me throughout most of the weekend, though the shit of the day always finds a way to seep back in. Would I go back? Absolutely. Pod up, lights off. This was my first time to try a FLOAT. I must say the experience was beyond relaxing! The service was great and they explained everything in detail. I was able to relax in my pod and actually fall asleep! Having your own private room is a great feature and super convenient. The amenities offered and oxygen bar was a plus! Only thing I would say is cleanliness could have been better as my boyfriend and I both found hair in the pods and the shower. Will definitely do this again, next time I will inspect my pod and shower before getting in. read more

The staff at the True Rest Float Spa, Powell location, were extremely nice and explained the float procedure very well. Since it was my first float, I really didn't know what all to expect other than what I saw on line. The float was amazing as was the oxygen bar! I appreciated the time in the tranquility area with the refreshing beverages. I was so pleased so I scheduled my next float before I left. Then I went home, drank a lot of lemon water and took a nap! Next float should even be better because the music was not working in my float tub this visit. Then I will relax even more. The whole experience was very nice and relaxing. Signing in was easy. After signing in you watch a short movie about float pods, how they work, and what you can expect during your float. There is one float pod per room. There is a shower in every room with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. You shower before you enter the float pod, swim suits are optional. The pods have a light and music both of which can be turned off. The music starts playing when your float starts and plays for 10min. The music begins playing again when there are 5 min left in the float. The floats are 60 min in length. After the float you shower again. There is a nice lobby are to relax in after the float. The spa was nicely constructed except they made me wait an hour+ before getting in because a ton of kids had Groupons for half the price so the place was swamped and actually pretty hectic with people going in and out of doors, making us watch some movies before when I assume every person that comes in has an idea of what the point of sesory deprivation is. I'm sure the place will be fine once the Groupon effect lessens but let's get to the real review: The Water. The water at True Rest was wildly different than any previous water I've reviewed. I've had crisp, flat, bubbly, poor ice:water ratio, excellent ice:water ratio, poor fill time, excellent fill time and attentiveness, bottled, glass, plastic, and even out of a can (on an airplane!). This water had a very, very bitter taste (this is possibly due to the 300+ pounds of Epsom salt they put in the tanks beforehand but I can't be sure). What's more, there was a cleaning pump for this water that started at the beginning of my session and then again at the end, I assume this is to keep the drinking pool clean for other patrons and I give two thumbs up for cleanliness! Most importantly, this water was set apart by the way it was served, in a giant glowing pool and how full and satiated it made me feel afterwards.
