Started working with True North Air Conditioning to fix AC issues in 2023 summer. The extremely hot weather broke my two AC units sequentially. Johnny came to fix the 1st one with a weird copper pipe leaking. The problem is unusual such that most people would not be able to do this kind of trouble shooting. Fortunately, Johnny is so professional to pin down the problem. So, when the 2nd AC unit was down, we were able to survive by relying on this AC repaired by Johnny. The 2nd AC had big issue such that high pressure pipe has some restriction to circulate refrigerant. With the suggestion from Johnny, we finally decided to replace the entire system from Trane. During the installation, Mike, Jerry and the assistant (don't know the name) were so decent, and pay great attentions to all details. They followed all requests I had and got the job done to meet my great satisfactions. I can not be more pleased with how quick and efficient this company is. My air went out at the worst possible time, Sunday, July 4th at 11:00pm. Not being from AZ, single, and having trust issues with people trying to get over on me with fees, I called my prior supervisor. He gave me the name of this company and told me to ask for Johnny. This guy works quick and he had no problem with me hovering over him and asking questions especially since my home is only 4 years old. Needless to say, I am currently sitting in a cool house, my bill was surprisingly affordable compared to the horror stories I've heard about and watched on YouTube and I knew that I needed to write this review. Amazing! I bought a home that had been added on to and altered many times over the years. I've always struggled to get proper air flow to all the rooms. Dave put a lot of time in on the front end to diagnose the problems and come up with a more effective and efficient system. Because it was such a big job, I bid it out to 3 companies. Dave was much more thorough in his assessment than the others and the office was great about follow up. I definitely got the sense that I was in good hands with him, that he actually cared about me and the quality of his workmanship. I knew I could trust him to do the job right whatever surprises might come up along the way, as they always do. His pricing was competitive and when it was time to do the job he brought in a team of 7 guys and banged it out in one day! Out of all the companies that came out to quote, Mike stood out for his knowledge and patience as I plied him with many questions. The entire team at True North Air Conditioning has been amazing! From Trevor, the admin staff, and our installers Michael and Jared, they were all professional, on time, clean, knowledgeable and through. I can't rave enough about our installers, they worked in tremendously hot conditions and replaced our entire HVAC system both outside and inside our attic. The work was completed/done and it's like there were no contractors even at our home they left it so clean. Both Michael and Jared, listened to my concerns and questions. Very happy with the service we received from Mike at True North. Had an issue with our AC that was diagnosed by another company but sent a few requests for quotes out via Yelp. Mike responded extremely quickly with a quote that was 50% less than the original one I was given and offered to come out same day to take a look. Once he confirmed the original diagnosis, he replaced the part quickly, with the whole visit being under an hour from arrival to departure. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he wore his mask during direct interactions with me and kept appropriate distance which I appreciated. The next day, I received a voicemail asking if everything was running properly and letting me know he tried to get a warranty replacement claim on the part but that it wasn't eligible. We had discussed this before he left and I mentioned that I had already been told that it was no longer eligible, but he said he would try to get it taken care of anyway. It's a small thing, but he could easily have dusted his hands of it and I wouldn't have known any better. For him to go the extra mile is practically unheard of nowadays and I think it should be commended. My AC is working flawlessly and I'll definitely be using True North in the future and recommending them to anybody who needs some work done. read more

I contacted True North Air Conditioning to get a second opinion on the coil to my cooling system. Another HVAC company's service technician was out a few days earlier and told me that the coil was leaking coolant. He recommended the coil be replaced. True North sent their service technician Josh to service my cooling system and check if the cool was leaking. It turns out the cooling system was working fine and the coil was NOT leaking coolant. Josh saved me the cost of a new coil, around $3,500 to $3,900, PLUS the cost of any added coolant. I sincerely appreciate the honesty, fast service and affordable cost. read more

Beyond impressed with True North. We were having issues with one of our units. (It wasn't working well and making a lot of noise, think generator loud.) Sure enough, we needed a new split AC unit. We had 2 of our 3 AC units near end-of-life, so shopped around with 5 local A/C companies. True North seemed the most knowledgeable AND the had the lowest quote. I certainly did not view it as cheap price and cheap quality: I'm no A/C expert myself but I felt like we had decent workmanship done. I won't dock them down to 4 stars for this, but my biggest gripe was the workers left 5-10 cigarette butts in the backyard that we discovered over the following days and week. I was without air conditioning downstairs, I called first thing Monday morning and the owner answered the phone immediately. After I scheduled the appointment I decided I should have the two units yearly maintenance done at the same time if possible - and sure enough they made time to add that service too! Most of you that have read my post know I got a new HVAC and new thermostat. But what I didn't tell you is that several days after installing them, my thermostat quit. I called the people who sold them to me (True North) and they sent a man out that very day to look at it. They checked out the new Trane and said that was ok and surmised that it must be the old wiring connecting to the thermostat. They replaced the thermostat with a temporary one so I could get heat and made an appointment for today to replace the wiring. They were here bright and early. One guy had to crawl through my attic to get to it as I only have a crawl space and the thermostat is at the other end of the house. I really felt sorry for him. But they replaced the wiring and put back on another new one like I had and there was no charge. This is just another example of a company that puts service ahead of price. I got several quotes from other companies before buying from (True North) and they gave me the best price on this 5 seer2, two stage HVAC. One company wanted $1,300.00 more for the same model. Besides being cheaper, (True North) also gave me the best warranty. I got 10 year on parts, 3 years on labor and1 year on service. Also if you look up the company on Yelp you'll see they have a five star rating. So if you live in the Valley, especially on the East side, and thinking of buying or having your HVAC serviced, you'd be crazy not to check them out.
