    Beet Salad
    Matt J.

Troya is a superb addition to the Cove, its handsome interior, attentive service and thoughtful cuisine belying its strip mall setting. The dining experience feels removed from the adjacent parking lot and transports you with a sun-drenched Mediterranean energy. The food itself is very strong, though I have a few nits. Firstly, the menu online is not the same one they offer in the restaurant. While this difference isn't the end of the world, the research and anticipation of a meal is part of the pleasure I glean from eating out, so it is disappointing when certain items are not actually offered. Attention to detail is an important trait for a restauranteur and the online presence should be an accurate reflection. Ironically, the dish I ordered was not listed online, so in practice, I'm happy about the difference, albeit not in theory. Secondly, they were out of several dishes, including the cauliflower which I was most excited about. It's understandable that certain ingredients may get used up, but the shortage of multiple dishes (namely vegetables, not unique seafood) demonstrates inadequate planning. Lastly, my beet salad (the unlisted one!) was very satisfying, but could stand to use more of the hero ingredients, namely the beets and the Ezine feta cheese. The supporting cast was solid (fennel and cucumbers) but needed to take more of a backseat role. The salad prep should adhere to the principle of "all killer, filler." Aside from those minor grievances, I enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning (though awareness of what I can expect would be a major plus).

This restaurant is bright and open, while also feeling cozy and warm- they nailed it! The hostess was quick to greet us and get us seated for our reservation. All of the service was great. Our food came out quickly, we were given great recommendations, and all our plates were cleared quickly. We had a variety of appetizers and mains for our group of 5. Everything was delicious and was easy to share. I will definitely return!

I was floored. It's been awhile since I've been to a restaurant where I enjoyed every single dish I tasted. When we arrived around 7:45pm, we were promptly seated without a reservation on a Saturday night. I imagine the more press this spot gets there will be longer wait times over the weekends. Opened since May 2025, Troya was an unexpected delight in my food journey through Marin. Ever since my husband started working in the area, we've tried many restaurants but none have impressed me as much as this Turkish gem. After being seated, our waiter took our order and even made a few recommendations. Service was overall friendly and attentive. I was curious about how they prepared the lamb as it's a meat option that I've had trouble enjoying because of how it's prepared. Aside from the gorgeous light-filled interior, I was ready to try what they had to offer. This is what we ordered alongside my glass of French rose: Foods: -Hummus with pita -Red Lentil Soup with paprika oil -Braised Lamb Shank (out of shank, subbed in with shoulder) -Turkish dumplings -Baklava with vanilla ice cream A few words about each item. The hummus was this earthy, nutty flavor with a smooth texture. We dipped our warm triangles of pita into it and pretty much cleaned the plate. The red lentil soup was delicious! It was perfect for a cool, fall evening. My husband loved the dumplings but I think it was unfairly overshadowed by the lamb shoulder (the piece de resistance). It was tender, meat fibers pulled apart with the slight pressure of my fork. I loved that it sat on a bed of Sultan's rice with almonds, raisins, tzatziki. This was by far my favorite dish of the night. I would highly recommend! And as if things could not go any better, we ended on a high note with the flakiest baklava I've had. I def want to come back and maybe to try brunch!

Came back for a 2nd visit. Ended my small lunch of hummus and Borek with Turkish coffee, which comes with a DIVINE piece of Turkish Delight. Met owner who was nice, as were the two gents who were serving!

Another terrific dinner at Troya! Their salads are refreshing and full of flavor with herbs, citrus and pomegranate seeds. My friend had it served with their grilled chicken and loved it after a long hike. We finished the meal with traditional coffee, tea and Turkish Delights. It made the experience extra special. Their staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Whether going for their lunch or dinner, I really enjoy the beautiful place settings and overall esthetic of the decor. It's a great addition to the community.

Troya is the best new restaurant in Marin! We had lunch there today and it was just wonderful. I've been to the Fillmore Street location before, but this new spot in the Cove Shopping Center is a standout. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service feels warm and welcoming. It's such a treat to have a place in Marin that's not only memorable but also truly delicious. Everything from the presentation to the flavors was impressive. We ordered the eggplant avocado toast and the Istanbul breakfast--both were beautifully plated and full of flavor. We finished with Turkish coffee and house-made baklava, which was the perfect ending. I really hope Troyo thrives here. It's exactly the kind of spot Marin needs.

Great food, lovely staff and easy location! I have been here few times and ordered couple different dishes but I really like their whole grilled branzino and warm hummus with lamb starter! The food tastes delicious, fresh and always on point to satisfy my Mediterranean cravings! The staff is lovely and friendly. The place makes you feel very welcome. The ambiance is great. Everyone is enjoying themselves and laughing. Just have a well deserved time.

We celebrated my birthday here last night. My wife raves about their brunch - and the dinner was just wonderful. The dishes were inventive, fresh and tasty. We loved the lamb dumplings, roasted cauliflower, tomato salad and mixed pita and dips plate. The staff is expertly trained. The space is beautiful - and the owner is an incredibly gracious host. Everything was so delicious, we can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

Wonderful ambiance and place to experience amazing Mediterranean food. The owners are welcoming and staff is great! I had a traditional Turkish coffee, red lentil soup, and chicken dish that was so tasty. I will definitely be back for more.

Service was fairly attentive - there was only one slight hiccup with one entree not coming out until around 5 minutes after everyone's dish so we had to wait. Pretty good selection of signature cocktails. The Liquid Gold was refreshing and not that strong. As for the food, we got the tartare, crab empanada, bungalow Benedict, and the phyllo crusted pork chop. The tartare was fresh and not fishy at all, but was missing some salt. Crab empanada was great. The cilantro avocado puree and aioli complemented the crab well. Eggs Benedict was standard. It was nice that it came with a model bakery English muffin, but nothing stood out. Pork chop was fried very well. Crispy exterior but soft inside. It was a pretty hefty cut as well. I expected more from the taverna fries but it seemed like standard frozen fries. The chimichurri sauce was good but had an aioli texture, which was weird but still good taste wise. To end, the butterscotch budino was fairly light and had a good sweetness. All in all, the lunch was still enjoyable especially with the view. I do wish there was that wow factor in some of the dishes to better match the price.

We had the escargot, steak tartare, sole, clams, skirt steak, and hanger steak--purely for research purposes, of course--and every dish was excellent, each clearly doing its own thing. The sole was delicate, the clams briny and assured, and the steaks were distinct enough that you could actually taste why both cuts belong on the menu. I ordered fish, and it was the smallest piece I've ever had. My husband had pasta with shrimp; unfortunately, they used the smallest and cheapest shrimp available. The Caesar salad was nothing special, no flavor, and we had to ask for extra dressing. The calamari appetizer didn't look appealing and lacked a fresh, vibrant color. Nothing was included with my $44 fish dish, so I had to order a side of roasted potatoes for extra $8, which were not fresh at all. When I asked our waiter, he said they make them daily, which likely means they were made anytime in the morning. Overall, it was not worth the $198 we spent on a tasteless dinner.
